In further proof that if Reverend Al Sharpton didnt exist Fox News would have to invent him, Fox contributor Ralph Peters spotted a similarity between the civil rights advocate and 2005 Super Bowl champion Vladimir Putin.

The remarks came in response to President Barack Obamas assessment that Putin, hailed as such a tough actor after his seizure of Crimea, was not looking so good in the face of his sputtering economy.

Not so fast, countered RP Tuesday morning. Putin is going to be the head of state in Russia long after Obama has been consigned to the ash heap of history, Peters said. Putin is suffering a setback, but hes not a Washington milquetoast who just quits. Hes in this for the long-term.

If you follow the Russian media, he has created an alternative reality for the Russian people, Peters said. He is sort of Al Sharpton with nukes, creating this cult of victimhood, victimhood, victimhood for the Russian people.
