National Action Network president Al Sharpton was the keynote speaker at the 2014 NAN Vanguard Awards on Thursday, October 16 in Los Angeles.

*The National Action Network is on a mission to get this nation right and under the guidance of the one and only Rev. Al Sharpton, this national Civil Rights organization is making major moves to do just that. Sharpton is the National Action Networks Founder & President and acts as its national spokesperson, being very vocal on all things political.

OnThursday, October 16 at the California African-American Museum, the NAN hosted the 2014 African American Vanguard Awards that honored African American business leaders and political movers and shakers. The event was created by Lord, Bush & Randolph, LLC. (LBR) to recognize African Americans who have made a positive impact on the City of Los Angeles and surrounding communities.

The National Action network of Los Angeles is pleased to partner with Robert Bush of LBR on this event. We are grateful that our national leader Rev. Sharpton has taken time out his busy schedule to join us as we pay tribute to the most powerful and influential leaders in Los Angeles, said Rev. Tulloss, Western Regional Director and National Action Network, Los Angeles Chapter President.

Not only were people in attendance to honor those fine citizens, the event marked Sharptons 60th birthday celebration.

Many came out to celebrate with Sharpton including Judge Greg Mathis, Congresswoman Karen Bass, LA County Supervisor Mark Riley-Thomas, Apostle Beverly BAM Crawford, Macys VP of Government and Public Affairs Carol Jackson and Union Banks Vice President of Corporate Responsibility Julius Robinson just to name a few.

People that work and serve dont have to do what they do, said Sharpton in his keynote speech, and very often never get credit for what they do. Allot of us go by who we like, whether then who does things that we ought to love, and tonight is about people who do work. We all dont do it the same way, but we all have to do something. And that is what tonight is about.
