*Al Sharpton has come a long way from weighing 305 pounds.

At exactly 129.6 pounds, hes slimmer now and focused on keeping the weight off, despite those who wonder if hes ill and risking health problems with being 2 pounds above medical underweight classification.

So whats the secret to the Rev.s weight loss? According to him, it all started with his daughter.

I could take all the cartoons in the tabloid newspapers, but I couldnt take my daughter punching me in the belly and asking why I was so fat, Sharpton told the New York Daily News. That was my inspiration to lose the weight. And probably the last time anyone hurt my feelings.

Apparently, that incident with his daughter, which happened nearly 15 years ago when she was 12, stayed with Sharpton, who ultimately put his weight loss strategy into effect around six years ago.

The result amounted to the 60-year-old MSNBC PoliticsNation host cutting out red meat as well as chicken. A real change for someone who ate fried chicken with grits and eggs for breakfast and half a chicken for dinner.

Nowadays, Sharptons diet includes a lunchtime meal of a single salad with a chopped egg and no dinner at all since he doesnt eat anything after 6 p.m. And the weight started disappearing as he lost about 2 pounds a week and grew to appreciate not having as much food.
