The widow and mother of Eric Garner, the Staten Island man who died after resisting arrest and being put in a chokehold by cops, will finally meet the parents of Michael Brown, the teenager shot last month by police in Ferguson, Mo., it was announced Saturday.

The Garner and Brown families will join Rev. Al Sharpton and other civil rights groups for a rally Thursday morning at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

One of the things that has never been dealt with is that both Eric Garner and Michael Brown had their hands up, said Sharpton at the National Action Network headquarters on Saturday morning in Harlem. Were gonna have our hands up in Washington.

The deaths of the two unarmed black men at the hands of white officers have fueled fiery protests accusing police of racism and unnecessary force.
