Over his first 115 days in office, Donald Trump managedone historical achievement: At this point in his first term, hes the least popular president since pollsters began keeping track in 1953. According to Gallup, Trump has a 38 percent approval rating, and although he enjoys high numbers with Republicans (84 percent), support from independents has dropped 10 percent over the past month to just 29 percent.

This historically poor performance has led many to question: When will prominent Republicans hopoff the Trump Train?

Last Sunday, author Ann Coulter told the right-wing The Daily Caller thatshe may be turning away from Trump. Its a big announcement from a woman whose love for his xenophobia onceearned himblind loyalty.In the interview, the In Trump We Trustauthor said she always knew that Trump had a grotesque personality, but stuck by him for the issues.

Coulter also revealed that Trump hasnt shown any of the negotiation skills he bragged about on the campaign trail. Where is the great negotiation? she asked. Where is the bull in the china shop we wanted? That budget the Republicans pushed through was like a practical joke Did we win anything? She also expressed concern with Trumps decision to give hisdaughter and son-in-law major roles in the administration. I have from the beginning been opposed to Trump hiring any of his relatives. Coulter said. Americans dont like that.I dont like that. Thats the one fascist thing hes done. Hiring his kids.

Although Coulters misgivings may signal a major shift in her partys support for the president, her criticisms come from a troubling place. In The Daily Callerinterview she expressed frustration over Trumps inability to build a wall on the Mexico border and still pledged allegiance to his jingoistic ideology. Trump was our last shot, Coulter said. I kind of thought it was Romney, and then, lo and behold, like a miracle Trump comes along. I still believe in Trumpism. I have no regrets for ferociously supporting him.
