Notre Dame president addresses Coulter visit

SOUTH BEND In the aftermath of a speech on campus by conservative commentator Ann Coulter, the University of Notre Dames president has issued an open letter to the campus community affirming the universitys open speaker policy.

Jenkins also makes reference to an e-mail sent out by a student leader of the ND College Republicans, saying the contents could be reasonably perceived as demeaning to groups and individuals, and reminding those on campus of Notre Dames standards when it comes to honoring the dignity of others.
