Al Sharpton Has A Message For Jay Z! – AllHipHop (blog)

(AllHipHop Rumors) While Jay-Z was talking that good shhhhh on his new album, 4:44, he ruffled a lot of feathers in the process.

Jay even addressed Rev. Al Sharptons viral selfies.

Al Sharpton in the mirror taking selfies. How is him and Pill Cosby spose to help me, rapped Jay-Z on Family Feud.

Al Sharpton already told yall that if we could have a terrible president that tweets every second of the day, he doesnt plan on stopping his selfies, especially when hes out making change.

He also took to the gram to clap back at Jay.

Tell #JayZ, we still taking selfiesbut Im taking care of business down here too. With @yazzthegreatest in New Orleans in between sessions at #EssenceFest2017, said Sharpton.

Al and these selfies are hilarious. Although Jays lyrics seem to be a bit mocking, Jay and Al really need to come together and do some good! Carry on.

Rev. Al Sharpton lauds New Orleans’ mayor for removing symbols of hate, bigotry – Rolling Out

Essence Fest 2017 commenced last night with A Soul of Nola press conference sponsored by Coca-Cola to salute the 61st mayor of New Orleans, Mitch Landrieus 16-year partnership with the organization. The evening also served as an emotional farewell as Landrieus second term in office comes to a close.

Several board members of Essence magazine shared eloquent testimonies of their working relationships with Landrieu, including Michelle Ebanks, president; Vanessa K. De Luca, editor-in- chief; Joy Profit, general manager; Staci Hallmon, VP sales; and Rev. Al Sharpton who was given a standing ovation after his dynamic speech.

The civil rights activist opened his speech with a recollection of his flight to New Orleans earlier that morning as he listened to more vitriolic commentary from President Donald Trump, As I came in from New York and saw some of the uppityness from the President about a woman I hope he looks to New Orleans to see what real women of beauty and intellect are. Look this way, Mr. President!

Sharpton went on to remark that even while Trump plans to cut Medicaid and continues to destroy our countrys economy he believes Black women are going to stand and rise to the occasion because they always have.

Sharpton also shared profound words on Mayor Landrieus impact on the city during such a critical era. He redefined New Orleans. In one era, we remember the levees being brought down; he brought down the statues of hate, bigotry and division, he said.

Mayor Landrieu has been a beacon of hope for the city of New Orleans and has made the Democratic Party proud. His second term will end in December 2017.

Al Sharpton Isn’t Too Worried About Jay-Z’s ‘4:44’ Reference To His … – BET

I dont know how we got to this point, but we literally have Jay-Z referencing Al Sharpton on his new album, and not for his often profound words about race and religion.

The reverend has made himself into a meme recently by posting himself prior and post working out. The Internet has had a field day with these shenanigans and its been one of the biggest running jokes of 2017. Its so big in fact, that even Hov has used some of the lyrics on his brand new 4:44 album.

Yall think small, I think Biggie / Yall whole pass is in danger, ten Mississippi / Al Sharpton in the mirror takin selfies / How is him or Bill Cosby sposed to help me? he raps on the song Family Feud.

Well, Sharpton wasnt going to let it pass, and decided to respond to Jays poking fun at him. Via Twitter, AS said he wasnt about to stop taking selfies.

Tell Jay Z we still taking selfies...but I'm taking care of business down here too! he tweeted. W/ @YazzTheGreatest in btwn sessions at #EssenceFest2017.

We really hope Reverend Sharpton doesnt stop. Yall really have gotten out of hand with this though. Ugh, the tomfoolery.

Anyway, peep the reverends tweet about Jay-Zs 4:44 line below.

Who Didn’t Jay-Z Come For in 4:44 – The Root

(Photo by Dave Kotinsky/Getty Images for Spike)

Jay-Z got his ass in formation on his 4:44 album, and of course many people across social media have been trying to figure out all of the subliminal shots the rapper took.

Straight off the top, theres the first song, Kill Jay-Z, and its rife with subs aimed at Kanye West, his own marriage and theres even a possible shot at Future thrown in.

I know people backstab you, I felt that too/But this fuck everybody attitude aint natural/But you aint the same, this aint Kumba Ye/But you got hurt because you think kumbaye/You give him $20 million without blinking/he gave you 20 minutes on stage, fuck what was he thinking?/Fuck wrong with everybody? is what you saying/But if everyone is crazy, youre the one thats insane

Ohhh ... so did Jay give Kanye money to go on tour? Only for him to have a mental health crisis and ended up just ranting on stage? Will Kanye have to pay Jay-Z back like a payday loan?

You almost went Eric Bent/Let the baddest girl in the world get away/I dont even know what else to say/Nigga, never go Eric Bent

On Beyonces Lemonade, she made reference to Jays infidelity, and of course the infamous Becky with the good hair. It seems as though Jay is admitting to losing the baddest girl in the world, just like Eric Benet lost Halle Berry back in the day.

And of course, Benets current wife probably woke him out of his sleep this morning, so he had to respond. Read his response, but stay for the replies under it:

In the future, other niggas playin football with your son/You had lost it, 13 bottles of Ace of Spade what it did to Boston

More infidelity talk? Or is this a shot at Future and Russell Wilson playing football with his son? Who knows, but I know Ive tried Ace of Spade and it was disgusting.

Throughout the rest of 4:44, which I listened to at the crack of dawn on Friday, Jay talks about everything from gentrification in The Story of O.J; to taking aim at Princes attorney and longtime friend Londell McMillan and accusing him of making money of his death in Caught Their Eyes; and the pice de rsistance comes on Family Feud when Al Sharpton, Bill Cosby and younger rappers arent even safe.

Im tryna fix you/Im tryna get these niggas with no stripes to be official/Yall think small, I think Biggie/Yall whole pass is in danger, ten Mississippi/Al Sharpton in the mirror takin selfies/How is him or Pill Cosby sposed to help me?

Whether youre a fan of Jay-Z or not, you cant ever deny his word play, or the ability to create mass hysteria and fanfare whenever he drops an album.
