Robert White: IRS should go after Al Sharpton
Dear Editor: Not long ago President Obama had a meeting at the White house with community and law enforcement leaders from around the country to discuss the events in Ferguson, Mo. Included in this meeting was the nation's leading race hustler, the Rev. Al Sharpton. In addition to being a race baiter, Sharpton is a tax cheat. The reverend has been able to avoid paying over $4 million in back taxes. If an individual or small business (especially a conservative one) had done this, their assets would have been seized, tax liens would have been placed against their property, and they would probably be spending time in a federal prison. They certainly wouldn't be sitting across the table from the president and other influential people discussing law enforcement procedures and race relations. The president thought it was important enough for Sharpton to be at this meeting but not important enough to have a representative from the Ferguson Police Department attend this meeting.
The Internal Revenue Service and other federal agencies have the time to target and harass conservative groups, as well as release confidential financial information, mismanage their email system and lie to Congress. If they have the time for these activities, why don't they have the time to prosecute the nation's most prominent and conspicuous expert on race relations and known tax cheat?
