In fairness to the media, this is all part of the liberal proclivity to embrace any conspiracy theory under the right conditions. There are random conservatives who might believe nutty things from time to time, but conspiracy-mongering is a plant that doesnt fully bloom except in the soil of liberalism.

The psychoanalyst Erich Fromm argued that because freedom is terrifying, one way to escape the anxiety is to have a strong belief system, providing a central magnet for all the metal filings to coalesce around.

Liberals have no strong belief systems, only base impulses. This is why their passions must be corralled into conspiracy theories, to bring conformity to their lives. They hate Trump, so everything he does must be on orders from Moscow.

Meanwhile, it is a known fact that the FBI is looking at Trumps son-in-law, Jared Kushner. It is a known fact that the Kushner family has used its connections to President Trump to drum up Chinese investors for the familys real estate portfolio. It is a known fact that Jared is looking for investors in his 666 Fifth Avenue building, which is underwater. It is a known fact that Jared met with the Russian ambassador as well as a representative of a state-owned Russian bank during the transition. It is a known fact that he neglected to mention those meetings on his security clearance forms.

All of this is probably perfectly aboveboard. But if you werent insane, the blindingly obvious question would be:Why did Kushner meet with the head of a state-controlled Russian bank?

Thats not what our media want to know! Reporters see all those facts, put 2 and 2 together and ask:How does this advance the narrative that Russia colluded with the Trump campaign to steal the election from Hillary?

This is why the press blared alarmist headlines about Kushners attempt to set up a back channel with Russia, a fact as important and disturbing as the square footage of Jareds office.

Liberals are desperate for anything sneaky with Russia because, unfortunately, there is still neither a coherent theory, nor any evidence, of Russian collusion with the Trump campaign to sway the election.

The argument is that Russia hacked John Podestas emails and turned them over to Wikileaks in order to reveal to American voters that the Democratic National Committee conspired against Bernie Sanders! And that would have swung the election against Hillary because well, actually, theres no theory on how it was supposed to work, exactly, but liberals believe that trained Russian spymasters thought it was a capital idea.

Buttressing this crackpot theory, there is, helpfully, zero evidence. Despite the FBI investigating alleged Russian collusion for nearly one year now, theres still not a speck of evidence that Russia colluded with the Trump campaign, only insinuations and dramatic headlines.

The FBI itself never investigated the DNC email leaks, but outsourced review of the Democrats servers to a cyber-security firm hired by the DNC. It raised no red flags with our Jacques Clouseau-like FBI that the DNCs chosen investigator, CrowdStrike, is affiliated with a fanatically anti-Russian Ukrainian billionaire.

CrowdStrikes smoking gun proving a Russian plot to elect Trump was the fact that the malware program used against the DNC was identical to a malware program used by the Russians to disable 80 percent of Ukraines howitzers in its war with Russian separatists in 2014.

Except then it turned out that: a) Russia isnt the only hacker with that malware; b) Ukraines howitzers hadnt, in fact, been disabled; and c) Ukraines howitzer app had never even been hacked.

Other cyber-security firms scoffed at CrowdStrikes report, explaining that the Fancy Bear malware allegedly found in the DNC hacks may have originated with Russia, but once Russia had used it, every hacker had it. As cybersecurity expert Jeffrey Carr explained to The Miami Herald, malware isnt a bomb or an artillery shell. (It) doesnt detonate on impact and destroy itself.

The study cited by CrowdStrike for its claim about the Ukrainian howitzers was written by the International Institute for Strategic Studies. But IISS has since explained that CrowdStrike misunderstood its report. True, Ukraines supply of howitzers was depleted. But that reduction occurred years earlier and had nothing to do with Russia.

Technical experts with Ukraines military further denied that their artillery app had ever been hacked, at all.

Weirdly, liberals cite the very absence of evidence to say:Thats why we need an investigation!

As long as were calling for investigations of any kook theory, how about an independent commission to investigate whether Sen. Chuck Schumer is a child molester? Schumer was Anthony Weiners mentor, which is already more evidence than the media have for their Russian collusion story.

True, I dont have proof that Schumer is a child molester, but I just started this investigation! Was there collusion between Schumer and Weiner in the selection of the underage girl Weiner sexted with? Neither man has yet issued a full and convincing denial.

Obviously, the point of an independent investigation isnt to find any actual wrongdoing. Its to hurt Trump. But if thats your objective, American media, as loath as I am to give you helpful suggestions, the wafer-thin evidence that exists all points to Kushner, not collusion.

Ann Coulter Hits Supposed ‘Gay Icon’ Kathy Griffin on ISIS-Cribbed Antics – Breitbart News

Coulter poked fun at Griffin, who has based much of her public image on being an irreverent idol-less gay icon, described as such by the likes of Gawker and TMZ. Coulter found the gory video an odd choice for Griffin, given its similarity to images popularized by violent Islamists like ISIS, who not only post pictures of themselves with the severed heads of allegedly gay men, but have been known to throw gay men from buildings to their deaths in the name of Sharia Law.

Commenting on a Breitbart News report on the incident, Coulter inquired after Griffins gay fanbase, calling them Gay America, Inc. and Griffins sole employer. She then dismissed Griffins attempts to excuse her actions by reference to comments President Donald Trump made about Megyn Kelly during a debate nearly two years ago.

Coulter went further in pointing out the hypocrisy of the gay icon, mocking Griffins pandering to gays in light of her readiness to crib the style of those who wish them dead:

As the controversy over Griffins video stretched into Wednesday, Coulter continued to engage in the roiling fracas. Coulter retweeted, for example, Sen. Al Franken (D-MN)s decision to stand by Griffin after she issued a video apology Tuesday night saying, I beg for your forgiveness. I went too far. I made a mistake. And I was wrong.

Katy Perry following Ivanka Trump, Ann Coulter on Twitter – The Hill (blog)

Ivanka Trump and Ann Coulter have a new, unlikely follower on Twitter: Katy Perry.

The Swish Swish singer a big-time Hillary ClintonHillary Rodham ClintonHillary Clinton fires back at Trump tweet with 'covfefe' reference Trump: Clinton 'blames everybody but herself' for electoral loss Clinton questions Trump's 'fake' Twitter followers MORE supporter who performed at the Democratic National Convention last year recently started following Trump, who serves as a White House adviser, and Coulter, the conservative firebrand.

Perry was one of Clintons most fervent celebrity surrogates during the 2016 presidential race, repeatedly hitting the campaign trail for the Democratic nominee. The 32-year-old songstress even named a pair of pumps in her shoe line after the former secretary of State.

The California native, announced Tuesday as one of several mega-stars performing at a benefit concert this weekend in Manchester, England, for the victims of a deadly terrorist attack, has dubbed her latest songs as purposeful pop. Hey, Kathy Griffin, the Left Doesn’t Need Its Own Ann Coulter – Daily Beast

Channeling her inner ISIS, comedian Kathy Griffin appeared in a photo shoot Tuesday carrying the bloody decapitated head of Donald Trump. The conservative internet is apoplectic, but a lot of us on the left arent terribly pleased either. Griffins beheaded heathen stunt isnt just grotesqueassassination jokes go over in Washington about as well as Holocaust humor in Tel Avivits also bad politics.

Griffin took to Twitter to defend/explain herself:

I caption this there was blood coming out of his eyes, blood coming out of his...wherever. OBVIOUSLY, I do not condone ANY violence by my fans or others to anyone, ever! I'm merely mocking the Mocker in Chief.

An hour later, Griffin published a video with a full-throated mea culpa. I sincerely apologize I am sorry, I went way too far. I made a mistake and I was wrong. Griffin also added that she would ask the photographer to take down the image.

And good for her. While I get the jokeGriffin is quoting Trumps obscene comments during the campaign about former Fox anchor Megyn Kellygags about killing the president are never appropriate, and its good that Griffin has now acknowledged that. Imagine how Democrats would react if Ann Coulter were photographed swinging the disembodied head of President Obama. And in fact, Democrats were rightly livid when two University of Wisconsin football fans dressed as Obama with a noose around his neck. There was an equal outcry, back in 1994, when Senator Jesse Helms (R-NC) joked that President Clinton was so unpopular among soldiers in North Carolina that hed better bring a bodyguard if he visited the state.

This is not to suggest that the left and right are equal in their embrace of violence as politics through other means. It was the Trump, and not Clinton, campaign that regularly egged its crowds on to manhandle protesters. Trump even promised to pay the legal fees of anyone who knocked the crap out of them. And its Republicans and not Democrats who routinely call the media the enemy. The press is only the latest victim of GOP ire. During the 2000s, Republicans in Congress demonized activist judges who, they said, were running roughshod over the Constitution. It was only after some of those judges were murdered, forcing former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day OConnor to tell the GOP to back off, that the rhetoric cooleduntil now. Since Donald Trump added judges to his enemies list early on in the campaign, the threats have begun anew for Americas jurists.

Its an Ann Coulterization of politicsvaluing trollery and shock value above all else. And Im worried about its spread to the left: not what we are, but what we may become. Weve seen a creeping intolerance on the left, from the Bernie Bros to the Richard Spencer-punchers. Its subtle, and not nearly as bad as the right, but its there. Ive worked in national politics for nearly 30 years, and it is difficult to face an enemy for decades and not ultimately become them. Their anger fuels your anger. And the incessant attacks on everything you hold dear can eventually break you. And its our job as progressives to be better than that. To be better than them.

But theres another reason Im speaking out about Kathy Griffins joke: Its not just bad manners, its bad politics. I work in Washington because I care about our country and want to make a difference. Joking about Donald Trumps violent demise doesnt help us win any votes in Congress or at the ballot box. All it does is feed a Fox News marketing machine desperate for anything it can find to detract from Donald Trumps latest himbo eruption. While Trump will still be president for the foreseeable future, his presidency is increasingly on the ropes, particularly as the Russia investigation continues to hit closer and closer to home. Why do anything to detract from that?

Theres an adage in politics: If your opponent is hanging himself, get out of the way. Donald Trump is his own worst enemy. Hes not going to grow up and suddenly become more presidential at age 70. One of the few things that can save Donald Trump is Democrats screwing up.

So, to all the Kathy Griffins out there, please just get out of the way.
