Conservative commentator Ann Coulter took to Twitter Sunday and slammed President Trump.

How could you betray them like this, @realDonaldTrump? More thanTWO-THIRDSof your donors were sending in $20 checks because they believed in you, Coulterwrote, citing data that a majority of donations to his campaign came from small donors.

Days ago, in another jab at Trump, Coulter responded to the news that Twitter is considering labeling tweets, including those from Trump, that violate its rules.

Maybe if he couldnt tweet, hed do something, CoultertweetedThursday.

Coulter, like Trump, is a frequent Twitter user and often uses it to communicate her frustrations with the president. She says he as failedto make good on his promise to build a wall along the US-Mexico border.

President Donald Trump on Saturday branded former ally Ann Coulter a Wacky Nut Job less than a month after he insisted he did not follow the conservative commentator and blamed journalists for exaggerating her influence over White House decision-making.

Wacky Nut Job @AnnCoulter, who still hasnt figured out that, despite all odds and an entire Democrat Party of Far Left Radicals against me (not to mention certain Republicans who are sadly unwilling to fight), I am winning on the Border, Trump tweeted.

Coulter in recent months has emerged as one of Trumps most vehement antagonists among right-wing media figures who had urged the administration not to cede ground to Democrats in negotiations for funding the construction of a border wall separating the U.S. and Mexico.

She is scheduled to speak at a public affairs luncheon Monday in West Palm Beach, Fla. near the site of Trump's expansive Mar-a-Lago resort, where the president is in residence until Sunday.

Coulter's protestations, echoed by members of the House Freedom Caucus and other conservative lawmakers, were partly blamed in December for Trumps decision not to sign a stopgap funding proposal that allocated far less than the $5.7 billion he had demanded for the wall plunging the federal government into a 35-day partial shutdown.

In February, Trump declared a national emergency at the southern border after approving a spending accord reached by congressional deal-makers that apportioned $1.375 billion toward border security measures. The emergency declaration, which both chambers of Congress are poised to formally denounce, would allow the White House to redirect billions of dollars toward fulfilling Trumps campaign-trail promise. The move faces a series of legal battles.

Coulter slammed the bipartisan agreement and Trumps declaration, remarking at the time in an interview with a Los Angeles radio station, The only national emergency is that our president is an idiot.

During a February news conference in the White House Rose Garden to announce his decision to invoke emergency powers, Trump insisted that conservative media figures dont decide policy, singling out Coulter and praising Fox News personalities including Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and Tucker Carlson, as well as radio host Rush Limbaugh.

Ann Coulter, I dont know her. I hardly know her. I havent spoken to her in way over a year. But the press loves saying, Ann Coulter. Probably, if I did speak to her, shed be very nice. I just dont have the time to speak to her, Trump said.

The president also said Coulter was off the reservation, adding: But anybody that knows her understands that. But I haven't spoken to her. I don't follow her. I don't talk to her. But the press loves to bring up the name Ann Coulter.

The far-right commentator, also a part-time Palm Beach resident, was a Trump supporter in 2016 because of his hard-line stance on immigration, but she's recently accused him of failing to back up his rhetoric.

WEST PALM BEACH Aside from the 600 or so people who came to hear her speak at the Kravis Center on Monday, conservative flamethrower Ann Coulter says it's hard to find people she can talk to now that she's directed her scorching criticism on President Donald Trump and his failure to build a U.S.-Mexico border wall.

"It's frustrating," Palm Beach resident Coulter said at a Forum Club of the Palm Beaches luncheon. "I can't talk to Trump detractors because, as the subtitle to my last book indicated, they're insane. I can't talk to the Trump flatterers because they think as soon as it comes out of his mouth, it has happened. No, he's an excellent talker. It's just when it comes to doing anything that he falls down on the job."

Rivaling Trump as a target of Coulter's ire was the media.

"Trump may be a shallow, narcissistic conman, but that doesn't mean the media are not the enemy of the people. Both things can be true," said Coulter. She later said the one positive of Trump's presidency could be the "total destruction of the lying media."

Coulter, a Trump cheerleader in 2016 because of his hard-line stance on illegal immigration, has become a harsh critic of the president, accusing him of failing to back up his rhetoric. A December Coulter column calling Trump "gutless," along with criticism from other immigration hard-liners, is credited or blamed for goading the president into insisting on $5.7 billion in wall funding and plunging the federal government into a 35-day partial shutdown when congressional Democrats refused.

Trump recently told reporters he hardly knows Coulter and described her as "off the reservation."

But Coulter was on the president's mind during his weekend visit to Mar-a-Lago. The president called her a "Wacky Nut Job" in a Saturday tweet and insisted "I am winning on the Border. Major sections of Wall are being built."

Coulter brushed off the president's criticism in an interview with The Palm Beach Post after her Forum Club remarks.

"I don't know why he doesn't just ignore me. He doesn't mind ignoring the rest of his base," Coulter said.

In her luncheon speech, Coulter compared Trump to the late President George H.W. Bush, who lost his 1992 re-election bid after breaking his promise not to raise taxes.

"The first George Bush, for example, 'Read my lips, no new taxes.' OK he said it one time at the convention. One time. Trump talked about building the wall at least once a day for 18 months," Coulter said.

If the wall-supporting Trump base isn't energized in 2020, Coulter said, "the nightmare scenario is that Democrats and they have gone mad that they elect someone completely crazy, just wild left-wing. That's the debate right now, are they going to go with someone half normal or are they going to go with an AOC type?" Coulter said, referring to left-wing freshman U.S. Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, D-New York.

In an audience question-and-answer session, Coulter fielded a few questions about her caustic style.

"Do you believe your work helps to heal our nation's divisions or make them more pronounced?" said one written query submitted by an audience member.

"For one thing, who cares about divisions? That's how democracy works," Coulter replied. "I think we could use a little more honesty in our political discourse. I'm hard-pressed to name another political commentator who isn't making money off taking a particular position, on the left and the right."

Another questioner asked: "When troubled people are animated by extreme rhetoric, do you ever become concerned or question your style? And do you have any thoughts about the vitriolic political climate and how it might incite others?"

"Yeah, I have something to say: Grow up," Coulter responded. "I promise you nothing I've said comes close to what's said about me live on national TV. Look, we live in a democracy. We're supposed to have roiling debates ... 'Why can't we all just get along?' OK, give in to me we'll get along fine."

Born in New York City on December 8, 1961, Ann Coulter worked as a lawyer for the Senate Judiciary Committee before appearing on MSNBC as a legal consultant in 1996. Ann Coulter graduated with honors from Cornell University in 1984 and received her law degree at University of Michigan Law School, where she was an editor of The Michigan Law Review.

Ann Coulter says shes thankful President Trump distanced himself from her on Friday after he disappointed her once again by signing a bipartisan border deal while simultaneously declaring a national emergency to fund his wall.

I havent spoken to her. I dont follow her. I dont talk to her, but the press loves to bring up the name Ann Coulter, Trump told reporters from the Rose Garden Friday morning. Probably if I did speak to her, she would be very nice, but I just dont have time to speak to her, he added, before saying he thinks shes gone off the reservation when it comes to her increasingly loud criticism of him.

He seems to think the reservation is HIM, not his campaign promises, Coulter tweeted following the press conference. But she had a lot more damning things to say during a radio interview with L.A.s John Phillips and Jillian Barberie on KABCs The Morning Drive show.

Thank god hes relieved me any responsibility for what hes been doing, Coulter told the radio hosts. That was the biggest favor anyone could do for me today. Declaring that the country is over now, she said she didnt need a Tarot card reader to know that Trump would totally f-over his base.

The president's mandate, Coulter said, was to build the wall. And even though thats what he plans to do by declaring a national emergency, shes not happy about it. The only national emergency is that our president is an idiot, she said.

During his press event, Trump similarly distanced himself from Fox News host Sean Hannity, whounlike Coulterspecifically urged him to build the wall through use of an emergency order. Sean Hannity has been a terrific, terrific supporter of what I do. Not of me. If I changed my views, he wouldnt be with me, Trump said, before insisting that right-wing pundits dont decide policy.

Coulter predicted that the courts will use the bill Trump just signed to block him from building the wall, once again calling him a lazy and incompetent president who is surrounded by absolute morons like Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.

As for Trump saying he hardly knows Coulter, she also retweeted a photo of herself speaking at his Iowa rally that aimed to debunk that absurd claim.
