Alabama public school assigns Ann Coulter and other right-wing … – Mic

Required reading lists are the bane of any high-schooler's summer. Now, they're also a new frontier for politicizing teens in favor of right-wing politics.

An alleged list of required summer reading at an Alabama public school surfaced online Wednesday, compelling students to read at least one book from a list of works by conservative pundits like Ann Coulter, Michael Savage and Mark Levin, as well as a book about abortion by Ronald Reagan. The list was allegedly assigned by Gene Ponder, who teaches government, economics and AP-level political science courses at Spanish Fort High School in Alabama.

Among the assigned books are titles like Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder: Savage Solutions; It's OK to Leave the Plantation; Guilty: Liberal "Victims" and their Assault on America; The Enemy Within: Saving America from the Liberal Assault on Our Churches, Schools and Military; and Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto.

The list appeared online via journalist Eoin Higgins, who obtained it from out-of-state students who were passing it around.

Of the 31 books listed, only a small handful Lies My Teacher Told Me and The Everything American Government Book, for example were not explicitly written by right-wing media pundits.

Gene Ponder isn't just a public school teacher, but a former candidate for lieutenant governor of Alabama who lost the Republican primary. During his campaign, he cited the power of the federal government to enforce its laws on noncomplying states the very means by which battles like school segregation and marriage equality were won as his reason for running.

Ponder told AL.com that this kind of law enforcement is tantamount to "coercion, intimidation and blackmail."

In an email statement to Mic, Baldwin County Alabama Public Schools communications director Terry Wilhite wrote, "Mr. Ponders reading list thats going around on social media has not been endorsed by the school or the school system."

"The list has been removed by the teacher," he added. "Baldwin County Public Schools has a process to vet and approve reading lists so that a variety of sources are used. I expect all employees to follow our processes, procedures and policies."

Ann Coulter’s fury with Trump growing daily no punches pulled in latest rebuke – TheBlaze.com

On Friday, The Blaze reported conservative commentator and author Ann Coulter posted a series of social media messages on her Twitter account criticizing President Donald Trump for failing to focus on shutting down the U.S.-Mexico border and choosing instead to prioritize issues Coulter feels should be pushed to the back of the line.

Coulters comments followed a speech Trump gave in Miami announcing changes to former President Barack Obamas controversial policies governing U.S. relations with Cuba.

I thought with Trump wed finally have a president helping OUR country, Coulter tweeted. So far: Syria, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Italy, China, N Kor. Today: Cuba.

At least Cubas in our hemisphere, Coulter wrote. How long can it be before he gets to America?

Right-leaning outlet Mediaite managed to get Coulter to comment on her Twitter tirade against Trump, and she didnt hold back.

It was a whole series today! Coulter told Mediaite. This jacka** is really ticking me off. And today Cuba? F***ing Cuba? If hed run a campaign promising to do everything hes done in the last 6 months, hed never have been elected. [Quote edited for language.]

After the Mediate story was published, Coulter claimed on Twitter she didnt intend for the quote about Trump to be published.

I wouldnt have cursed if Id known [Jonathan] Levine now works at @Mediaite, Coulter wrote. Thought I was emailing a friend. Now you know I REALLY mean what I tweet.

I have half-naked photos of @LevineJonathan. (Very cute!) Youd think I could speak openly in an email to him, Coulter wrote.

In May, Coulter penned a scathing rebuke of Trumps failure to close the border after agreeing to pass a budget that did not include funding for a border wall.

Apparently, Trumps fine with no wall and everything else in a bill straight out of George Soros dream journal if only the Democrats hadnt been so rude as to tell the public about it, Coulter wrote. When your main complaint is that the other side is gloating too much, maybe youre not that great a negotiator.

Yeah, sure, its only 100 days in, its an artificial deadline, the media is dying to say Trump has failed and so on, Coulter wrote.

Except: Planning for the wall should have begun on Nov. 9, and a spade should have been put into the earth to begin building it the day after Trumps inauguration, Coulter added. Now, its 100 days later, and we still dont have the whisper of a prospect of a wall.

Ann Coulter Turns Against Trump Over Border Wall: ‘I Thought He’d Help OUR Country’ – PJ Media

Conservative rabble rouser and 2016 Trump supporter Ann Coulter is suddenly turning against the man she supported during the GOP primariesand the presidential elections. Coulter, who told voters for months (if not years) that Trump was the man who would make America great again, is now suggesting that Vice President Mike Pence would make a better president.

The final straw that caused Coulter to go from prolific supporter to critic was the Trump administration's decision not to get rid of Obama's executive amnesty:

Yesterday, the Trump administration kept in place Obamas unconstitutional executive amnesty.

Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) June 16, 2017

She added:

This daily Trump melodrama is worth it ONLY if hes really going to build the wall, cut off Muslim refugees and deport illegals.

Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) June 16, 2017

That tweet about "the wall" apparently set her off even more:

Today's BORDER WALL CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Miles completed yesterday--Zero; Miles completed since Inauguration--Zero. NEXT UPDATE TOMORROW.

Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) June 16, 2017

Anyone in a Southwestern state who strolls to the border & drops a brick will have done more to build the wall than @realDonaldTrump.

Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) June 16, 2017

Next, Coulter added that Pence could soon replace Trump as president if he embraced the building of Ann's precious wall:

If @VP Pence were smart, starting making noises about how he'd LOVE to build a wall. He'd be sworn in as president about 2 weeks.

Coulter: Campuses becoming unsafe for white men – WND.com

Ann Coulter

WASHINGTON Campuses increasingly are becoming no-go zones for white men and their ideas, apparently just for being white, according to conservative pundit Ann Coulter.

After white students and faculty at Evergreen State College were coerced to leave for a Day of Absence, the campus descended into chaos students cornering faculty, demanding they be fired, and bat-wielding gangs of students patrolling the campus.

A similar situation emerged previously at the University of Californiaat Berkeley when radical left-wingers violently shut down an event by Milo Yiannopoulos. Trump supporters were pepper sprayed and beaten, and the riot caused $100,000 in property damaged.

Coulter was similarly scheduled to speak at Berkeley, but the event was canceled out of concern for public safety. When asked by WND if the events at Berkeley and Evergreen signal that white men and their ideas are unsafe on campus, Coulter responded with a resounding Yes!

[So] are innocent students, children or the elderly, she said.

Coulter does not think the problem will necessarily spread to the United States as a whole, but if it did, I would assume it would start with college administrators.

Political correctness is just the beginning. The situation on college campuses is worse than you could ever imagine and Americas future is at stake. Dont miss the political blockbuster of 2017 No Campus For White Men by Scott Greer.

Recent developments at Evergreen State College have intensified, leading biology professor Bret Weinstein to relocate his family off campus. Weinstein, a self-described progressive, was initially targeted by the campus mob as he objected to the Day of Absence.

Weinstein went on the Tucker Carlson Tonight show on Monday to discuss the hate and violence he has faced for challenging campus orthodoxy. Carlson began the show asking why Weinstein decided to relocate off campus.

The college has never acknowledged the danger that they put us in, and therefore I have no way of knowing whether its safe for me to return, Weinstein said. [The administrations] assurances that it is safe dont mean anything. Not that theyve offered them.

Carlson then asked Weinstein why he opposed the Day of Absence in the first place.

There is a tremendous difference between a population absenting themselves from a shared space, and a population deciding to absent other people from that same space, Weinstein responded.

Weinstein told Carlsonthat while he still wishes to remain at Evergreen State College, he doesnt think its possible. The hostile administration and the violence of the student mob has assured him that he is not welcome there.

Scott Greer, an editor for the Daily Caller and author of the prescient book No Campus for White Men: The Transformation of Higher Education into Hateful Indoctrination, appeared on the Hagmann & Hagmann Report on Monday to discuss the increasing encroachment of the race-baiting authoritarians on campus and at Evergreen in particular.

When I first heard about this story, I thought they took my book title as a challenge, Greer commented.

Asat Berkeley, campus police at Evergreenstood down and refused to protect Weinstein and his colleagues.

As is the case with these matters, if youre showing weakness, these people are just going to take more and more and keep you under lock and key, Greer argued.

When asked what leads to these protests, Greer stated its a dumbed-down radical agenda pushed on students by far-left professors.

Its not even intellectual enough to be Marxism theyre just taught these poorly thought out ideas that all white people are racist no matter who they are, he said.

Students are filled with passed-down resentment toward traditional America, toward white people, toward Western civilization, Greer believes. They think this is all bad and needs to go away.

Political correctness is just the beginning. The situation on college campuses is worse than you could ever imagine and Americas future is at stake. Dont miss the political blockbuster of 2017 No Campus For White Men by Scott Greer.

Ann Coulter Slams Trump in Tweetstorm: ‘Dropping a Brick Would Do More To Build The Wall’ – Newsweek

Today on Twitter, Ann Coulter had melodrama on her mind. And no, it wasn't the one released by Lorde.

"This daily Trump melodrama is worth it ONLY if hes really going to build the wall, cut off Muslim refugees and deport illegals," she proclaimed, launching into what could only be described as a proper tweetstorm on the subject.

The tweets are likely a response to Trump's rollback on his campaign promise to deport "dreamers"undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children and who are, as of now, under protection from Obama-era legislation. The Department of Homeland Security announced today that they'll be continuing the program.

Coulter's last tweet appears to reference the other big Trump announcement today: the "cancellation" of the "one-sided deal" that the Obama administration made with Cuba. Trump hopes to tighten travel and commerce restrictions on the country, up the ante on anti-Castro rhetoricand urge Cuba to return U.S. criminal fugitivessuch as former Black Panther member Joanne Chesimardto their home country for trial.

Contrasting this harsh tone towardthe country's government, Trump behaved warmly towardCuban dissidents in Miami, even kissing one on the cheek. This could be what Coulter took umbrage at when she references the president "helping" other countries.

This is hardly the first time Coulter, a well-known conservative firebrand, has slammed Trump. Despite initially supporting his campaign, particularly his call for a border wall with Mexico, she told Stuart Varney of Fox Businessback in May that she kept being brought back as a news commentator "to defend him." In an interview with The Daily Caller, she said she was ready to "jump ship" on her undying support of the president. (She wrote the bookIn Trump We Trustand compared her "worship" of Trump to howpeople of North Korea worship their Dear Leader blind loyalty.)

But Coulter might have to be patient: A member of Trump's administration told Breitbart today that designs for a "big, beautiful" border wall will be unveiled this summer.
