First Coast News will take a look at each position group on the Jaguars' roster on a daily basis over the next few weeks. Today's focus will be on the offensive line.

-Quarterback

- Running Back

- Wide Receiver

- Tight End

The Jaguars currently have 10 offensive linemen under contract heading into free agency. At tackle, Jermey Parnell, Josh Wells,Colin Kelly and Arturo Uzdavinisremain on the active roster. At guard, A.J. Cann, Chris Reed andNila Kasitatiare still with the team. Centers Brandon Linder and Luke Bowanko are also still under contract.

Parnell, Linder and Cann were full-time starters last season.

Parnell and Cannwere solid pass blockers, but the right side of the line was awful from a run blocking standpoint. Cann has played right guard over the last two seasons, but appears to be more of a left guard, the position he played at South Carolina. Parnell can be cut without penalty and open up $6.5 million in salary cap space.

Reed showed promise in a few spot starts last season due to injury. Bowanko was the starting center in 2014, but has since battled injuries and served in more of a backup role. Kelly, Uzdanvinis andKasitati will battle for roster spots in training camp. Uzdanvinis and Kasitati both had stints on the practice squad last year.

The team re-signed Wells on Friday. He was set to become a restricted free agent in March. Wells could serve as the swing tackle for the team this season.

The team hired Pat Flaherty to coach the offensive line in January. Flaherty has been an NFL offensive line coach since 2000 and won two Super Bowls working with Tom Coughlin and the New York Giants. He has evolved his blocking scheme over the years, adapting to different personnel. He employed a zone blocking scheme with the San Francisco 49ers last season.

The Jaguars passed on an option in starting left tackle Kelvin Beachum's contract on Feb. 15.

Picking up the option would have entitled Beachum to a $7.5 million base salary and a $5 million bonus. That's a grand total of $12.5 million, which would have put him in the range of Top 10 left tackle money. For what it's worth, Pro Football Focus rankedBeachum63rd out of 78 tackles last season. He is now set to hit the free agent market, but could be re-signed to a smaller, team-friendly contract.

In the aftermath of declining Beachum's option, the Jaguars have been heavily linked to Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Branden Albert, including reports that a trade has been agreed upon.A trade can't be announced or completed until March 9.

Luke Joeckel, Patrick Omameh and Jeremiah Poutasi are all free agents this offseason. All three started games at left guard last season.

Joeckel was the second overall pick in 2013 and has never really delivered on his draft pedigree. He had to undergo ACL, MCL and meniscus surgeries after suffering a knee injury against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4. He spent the rest of the season on injured reserve.

Omameh was next on the left guard rotation and played well in seven starts. He eventually suffered a left foot injury and was placed on injured reserve. Poutasi took Omameh's place in the lineup but only started one game. He suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 15.

Joeckelor Omameh could be signed for another short-term arrangement this offseason. With Joeckel coming off major knee surgeries, it may make sense for him to stick with a team and head coach that he is familiar with. However, he may seek a change of scenery after he was forced to move from left tackle to left guard this past season. Omamehseems like the more likely to return of the two, as he played well as a starter but can be used as a swing tackle with a healthy roster.

Poutasi remains a question mark. He was cut after being a high third round pick by the Tennessee Titans in 2015. He is also coming off an injury.

Tyler Shatleyis set to become arestricted free agent. He is likely to be retained on a "right of first refusal" deal. Shatleycould shop his services elsewhere, but the Jaguars could match any offer under that tender. He has served as a key depth interior lineman for the last three seasons.

The Jaguars could look to improve at guard through free agency. There is at least one open spot in the lineup heading into free agency and it will be either at left or right guard. Luckily for the Jaguars, the guard position is somewhat strong in free agency.

T.J. Lang, Ronald Leary, Larry Warford and Kevin Zeitler highlight the class. The Jaguars have plenty of money to spend, so landing one of the four veterans shouldn't be a problem when it comes to bidding.

Zeitler is probably the best of the bunch, as he ranked seventh out of 72 guard on Pro Football Focus and has been a five-year starter with the Cincinnati Bengals. He was first round pick in 2012.

If the Jaguars lose out on Zeitler, Leary is probably the best consolation prize. He has been the starting left guard on the league's best offensive line for four seasons. However, he has battled injuries over the last two seasons. He has dealt with groin issues and has a history of concussions.

Lang is likely to head back to Green Bay, as their cap situation should allow them to lock him up long-term.

Warford would likely be the fourth guy on the list, but would still be an upgrade over last season's production. Warford is more of a right guard, which would move Cann to his natural left side.

If the team is looking to add a tackle in free agency, the pickings are pretty slim. Riley Reiff, Matt Kalil and Mike Adams have strong draft pedigrees, but have been massive disappointments so far in their careers. Baltimore Ravens right tackle Ricky Wagner may be the lone intriguing add. If the Jaguars move on from Parnell, Wagner would be a solid replacement.

The Jaguars' draft options are pretty wide open. The offensive line class isn't super appealing at the top, but if Indiana guard Dan Feeney and Alabama offensive tackle Cam Robinson - by some miracle - fall to the second round, they would be huge additions for the Jaguars.

If the Jaguars decide to look later in the draft, Pittsburgh offensive tackle Adam Bisnowaty, Vanderbilt offensive tackle Will Holden, Temple guard Dion Dawkins and Utah guard Isaac Asiata should be available on Day 2.

North Dakota guard Zack Johnson would fit in well with a zone blocking scheme. He was impressive at the East-West Shrine Game practices and could be had on Day 3.

Muslim DNC favorite Ellison called a ‘disaster’ – OneNewsNow

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), the frontrunner to become the Democratic National Committees (DNCs) new chair, is drawing many warnings from conservatives and progressives alike because of his ties and expressed devotion to militant Islamic organizations and declared anti-Semitism.

Despite his connection with jihadist groups waging terrorism on the West, the Muslim congressman continues to receive endorsements as the top candidate to assume of helm of the DNC support that includes the backing of former Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), former Louisiana House of Representatives member David Duke and even the president of the Baltimore City Council, according to WND.

Duke, who has been known as the imperial wizard of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), recently took to social media to publicly announce his support of Ellison.

I really like Keith at least he knows, Duke announced to his Twitter followers.

The tweet was reportedly posted in response to the mainstream medias presidential campaign coverage that worked to discredit now-President Donald Trump.

Dukes comment was likely intended as a troll of both Ellison and the media the latter of which delightedly smeared Donald Trump during the presidential campaign because of Dukes unsolicited and disavowed endorsement of the GOP nominee, WND asserted.

It was also noted byThe Washington Times that by he knows, Duke was making a cryptic allusion to the Muslim Democratic leaders ties to various anti-Semitic groups, including the Nation of Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood. Furthermore, dedicated Communist Party members were the ones who launched Ellisons political career decades ago, as the Democrat has participated in explicitly communist movements and has been an operative for the Muslim Brotherhood, according to WND.

Career anti-Semitic politician

Since Ellisons college years, he has partnered with anti-American organizations a fact that was revealed by researcher Trevor Loudon in his documentary The Enemies Within.

Also stressing the Minnesota congressmans problematic past that is embedded in racist extremism is the nationally recognized conservative radio talk show host Larry Elder.

Ellison had close ties with the anti-Semitic, anti-white Nation of Islam, and those ties continued a lot longer than Ellison wants to admit, Elder expressed to WND, noting that his past support for an independent black ethnostate is in line with his former connection to various groups. Thats a core position of the Nation of Islam that there should be a separate country for American blacks.

The patriotic African American talk show host also mentioned an anti-Semitic statement Ellison made in 2010, when he condemned America for letting Israel have a disproportionate influence on its foreign policy.

A region of 350 million all turns on a country of 7 million, Elder mused. Does that make sense? Is that logic?

Not owning up to his controversial statements, Ellison insisted that someone had selectively edited his comments, however, when the full transcript of his remarks was released, it was confirmed that the quotes were accurate and not edited.

Amazed at how the media remained silent on Ellisons anti-Semitic comments, Elder demonstrated how leading conservative politicians are routinely grilled over perceived racism.

Even the Left-leaning Anti-Defamation League has belatedly opposed Ellisons DNC candidacy when it learned that Ellison here advanced the stereotype on how Jews and Israel have an undue influence on American politics, Elder pointed out. Steve Bannon is called anti-Semitic by critics. Where are the same detractors when it comes to Keith Ellison?

An unworthy candidate

Another conservative African American leader and personality, BOND Founder Jesse Lee Peterson, is also bewildered that a man with Ellisons troubled background could actually be considered as the head of the Democratic Party.

Keith Ellison has a very radical past and he has a history of cozying up to and working with communists and hate groups, Peterson stressed. Ellison is a fan of Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam. He has ties to and is in agreement with the anti-American, Jewish-hating CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) a front group for the Muslim Brotherhood.

He went on to note how the Islamic fundamentalists condemnation of law enforcement and promotion of violence against police should automatically disqualify him for the running.

Ellison constantly attacks police and supports the anti-police Black Lives Matter movement, the black author and civil rights leader informed. Ellison is a dangerous individual. He is not an acceptable candidate to be chair of the DNC. He is so far out of the mainstream that he shouldnt be in Congress and should be charged and prosecuted for sedition.

Division from within

It is contended that significant divisions within the Democratic Party are being forged as a result of Ellisons belligerence toward Israel and for his previous support for the Nation of Islam.

One such rift has been made by one of the Democratic Partys top donors, Haim Saban, who went out of his way to dub Ellison as an anti-Semite, which drew virulent condemnations from a number of liberal commentators. Another influential Jewish American who serves as a New York State assemblyman is outraged by Ellisons consideration, and he is spearheading a drive to push Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to revoke his support of the Democratic congressman for DNC chairman, according to the Free Beacon.

Peterson asserts that with the Ellison nomination in the air, it is coming to a time of reckoning for Jewish Democrats.

There should be a mass exodus of Jewish Americans from the Democratic Party, Peterson insisted. The fact that Ellison is a frontrunner for the DNC chair position indicates that the Democratic Party is anti-Israel and anti-Jewish. Ellison is a black bigot who hates Jews. If Ellison becomes chair, it means that Jews are no longer welcome in the Democratic Party. Any Jewish American who supports the DNC is funding their own demise.

Chronicler of black mob violence taking place across America, Colin Flaherty, contends that todays Democratic Party is driven by racial grievances.

If black people want to support Ellison because he is the major black candidate, well, I suppose it is their privilege to support someone whose only claim to fame is that he hates America, the author of White Girl Bleed a Lot insisted. This guy is a disaster on every level. His prominence is a clarion call for people who reject racial preferences, big government and promotion of Islam. The fact that large numbers of people find him an acceptable candidate is just about as alarming as anything we can point to today.

Even though Flaherty considers Duke and his endorsement of Trump to be insignificant in the political realm, the expert on race relations says that the former KKK member and Ellison share some likenesses.

If someone wanted to make a moral equivalence between Duke and Ellison, that would be a great idea an obvious idea which makes it all the stranger that so few people draw the parallel, Flaherty continued, noting that Jewish Democrats have come to the crossroads where they must decide if they will remain loyal to a party that is that is becoming more and more anti-Israel and pro-Islam. It is a mystery to me why so many American Jews embrace the same party that trumpets the wacky but dangerous ideas of apologizing for Islam.

According to Peterson, the Democratic Party has shifted its platform in recent years to become a far-Left, hateful, separatist party.

Theyre anti-family, anti-military and most have no respect for the U.S. Constitution, he charged. The party is still as evil today as it was when it was run by pro-slavery Ku-Klux-Klan supporters and segregationists. The party today is more sophisticated and theyre stealthier in the way they operate and how they exploit blacks and women in order to maintain power, but theyre still evil.

With Elders conservative leaning, he joked about wanting Ellison to become the DNCs next chair to work toward the Democratic Partys continued downward spiral.

As a flame-throwing, race card-dealing, extreme Leftist, Ellison is exactly the wrong person for the job, Elder jested. So I hope they hire him.

DNC frontrunner Ellison ripped as ‘disaster on every level’ – WND.com

The endorsements for Congressman Keith Ellison, a leading candidate to take over the Democratic National Committee, continue to pour in.

The president of the Baltimore City Council endorsed him.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.,backs him.Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has endorsed the Muslim congressman.

And so has David Duke.

The former member of the Louisiana House of Representatives andimperial wizard of the Ku Klux Klantweeted his support for Ellison, saying, I really like Keith at least he knows.

Dukes comment was likely intended as a troll of both Ellison and the media, the latter of which delightedly smeared Donald Trump during the presidential campaign because of Dukes unsolicited and disavowed endorsement of the GOP nominee.

But as theWashington Times noted, the reference to he knows is a cryptic allusion to Ellisons associations with anti-Semitic groups such as the Nation of Islam.

Indeed, Ellisons radical past goes well beyond casual connections with marginal figures. As WND recently reported, Ellisons career was launched by dedicated Communist Party members and he was involved in explicitly communist movements.

Researcher Trevor Loudon, who profiled Ellison in his explosive documentary The Enemies Within, has shown Ellisons long partnership with anti-American organizations dating back to when he was a student. As WNDreported in December, a great deal of evidence indicatesEllison an operative for the Muslim Brotherhood.

The most dangerous enemy is the one who operates from within your own gates. Discover the traitors within our own country and help spread the word about how America is already under attack. Dont miss The Enemies Within available now in the WND Superstore.

Radio talk show host Larry Elder, author of Dear Farther, Dear Son, blasted Ellisons extreme past.

Ellison had close ties with the anti-Semitic, anti-white Nation of Islam, and those ties continued a lot longer than Ellison wants to admit, he told WND.

As Elder observed, Ellisons past support for an independent black ethnostate is indicative of his previous associations.

Thats a core position of the Nation of Islam that there should be a separate country for American blacks, said Elder.

But its not just Ellisons record before becoming an elected official thatis causing the Democrats headaches. In 2010, Ellison blasted Israels disproportionate influence over American foreign policy.

He stated: A region of 350 million all turns on a country of 7 million. Does that make sense? Is that logic?

When criticized, Ellison claimed his remarks were selectively edited. But the resulting release of the full transcript showed no edits were made.

Elder said the medias lack of outrage about Ellisons statements and actions is a stark contrast to how they treat right-leaning figures such as Steve Bannon, President Trumps chief strategist.

Even the left-leaning Anti-Defamation League has belatedly opposed Ellisons DNC candidacy when it learned that Ellison here advanced the stereotype on how Jews and Israel have an undue influence on American politics, Elder stated. Jesse Lee Peterson, a civil rights leader, founder of the organization BOND and the author of several books, including The Antidote, was incredulous about Ellison being taken seriously as a possible leader of one of Americas two major political parities

Keith Ellison has a very radical past and he has a history of cozying up to and working with communists and hate groups, he said. Ellison is a fan of Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam. He has ties to and is in agreement with the anti-American, Jewish hating CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) a front group for the Muslim Brotherhood. Ellison constantly attacks police and supports the anti-police Black Lives Matter movement.

Ellison is a dangerous individual. He is not an acceptable candidate to be chair of the DNC. He is so far out of the mainstream that he shouldnt be in Congress and should be charged and prosecuted for sedition.

Ellisons past support for the Nation of Islam and hostility to the Jewish state is leading to major divisions within the Democratic Party. Haim Saban, one of the Democrats top donors, flatly labeled Ellison an anti-Semite, leading to furious condemnations of Saban by many liberal commentators.

A Jewish state assemblyman in New York is also leading an effort to get Sen.Schumer to renounce his support for Ellison for DNC chairman.

Peterson suggests it is a time for choosing for Jews in the Democratic Party.

There should be a mass exodus of Jewish Americans from the Democratic Party, Peterson said. The fact that Ellison is a frontrunner for the DNC chair position indicates that the Democratic Party is anti-Israel and anti-Jewish. Ellison is a black bigot who hates Jews. If Ellison becomes chair it means that Jews are no longer welcome in the Democratic Party. Any Jewish American who supports the DNC is funding their own demise.

Colin Flaherty, who chronicled nationwide black mob violence against whites in his book White Girl Bleed A Lot, argues racial grievances are driving the modern Democratic Party.

If black people want to support Ellison because he is the major black candidate, well, I suppose it is their privilege to support someone whose only claim to fame is that he hates America, he said. This guy is a disaster on every level. His prominence is a clarion call for people who reject racial preferences, big government and promotion of Islam. The fact that large numbers of people find him an acceptable candidate is just about as alarming as anything we can point to today.

While Flaherty regards David Duke as a marginal figure and his endorsement of no importance, he does see similarities between Duke and Ellison.

If someone wanted to make a moral equivalence between Duke and Ellison, that would be a great idea, he said. An obvious idea. Which makes it all the stranger that so few people draw the parallel.

Flaherty also believes Jews are going to have to decide whether they can stay in a party thatis growing increasingly anti-Israel and pro-Islam.

It is a mystery to me why so many American Jews embrace the same party that trumpets the wacky but dangerous ideas of apologizing for Islam.

Racial violence has returned to America thanks to the Left. Find out the story the mainstream media doesnt want you to know. White Girl Bleed A Lot, now available from the WND Superstore.

Peterson believes Ellisons prominence proves his contention the Democrats are a far-left, hateful, separatist party.

Theyre anti-family, anti-military, and most have no respect for the U.S.

But for his part, Elder cant help butendorse Ellison though not for the reasons the Minnesota congressman would like.

As a flame-throwing, race card-dealing, extreme leftist, Ellison is exactly the wrong person for the job, Elder joked. So I hope they hire him.
