Investigation at home where dead baby was found in freezer

PUNTA GORDA - Punta Gorda Police conducted a crime scene investigation at the same Punta Gorda house where a baby was found dead in the freezer in 2012, before clearing the house by Thursday night.
Punta Gorda Police Captain Thomas Lewis confirms the investigation began at a house at 320 Boca Grande Boulevard at 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning, after obtaining a search warrant. Investigators dug up parts of the backyard and removed bags of material from the home, but Lewis declined to say what was taken for closer examination.
Captain Lewis met with members of the media outside the property after crime scene tape was removed at approximately 6 p.m., but offered only brief details, and would not go on camera at the time.
Lewis told SNN-TV the house was no longer considered a crime scene but indicated there may be a second location yet to be investigated. He then confirmed it's the same house where a baby was found dead in the family freezer in 2012, and says the same family resides in the home.
