Guest role on 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' up for auction Saturday

CAVE CREEK, AZ (CBS5) -

The CSI: Crime Scene Investigationshows are more popular than ever, with millions of viewers tuning in each week to watch another mystery solved.

But for one lucky fan, the CSI experience is about to take a "once in a lifetime" turn.

All you have to do is cough up some cash for a good cause.

The Triple R Horse Rescue in Cave Creek is holding its annual fundraiser auction on Saturday, Oct. 11, and one of the auction items will be a guest appearance onthe newCSI show - CSI Cyber.

"It's a big deal," said Courtney Olson,a board member withTriple R Horse Rescue. "We think it's a really big deal and we're excited about the new show. It's going to be a huge success, and the fact that one of our guests gets to walk on and play an FBI agent is very exciting."

It turns outthat the shows' creator, Anthony Zuiker, and his wife are big supporters of Triple R Horse Rescue, and are personally offering up the unique auction item.

The auction winner and guest will be invited on the set, get a small role in an upcomingshow, and spend the day with Zuiker.

They'll also be helping horses and other animals in need.

All of the proceeds from Saturday's auction go directly to providing food, medical care and training, to help the animalsget adopted, Olson said.

Education Matters: Cabot High School Students Solve Crimes in the Classroom

CABOT, AR - Cabot High School is preparing students with hands on classes to get them ready.

"The gunman was either standing over there."

"Shot him in the front of the head with the exit wound to the back."

It looks and sounds like something you never want to be faced with.A crime scene investigation, especially murder on a school campus.

But as Tim Seay, Cabot High School Criminal Justice Instructor tells us this CSI class won't send anyone to the morgue or a suspect to jail. It's strictly for training and teaching students how to properly process a crime scene.

"Through crime scene photography, collecting evidence, measuring evidence, drawing a crime scene diagram," says Seay.

Even dusting and lifting fingerprints, basically students are getting the same training law enforcement officers get that senior Noah Rosson says is better than reading about it in a textbook.

"I definitely learned more here today, this is the first time I've actually processed a crime scene," says Rosson.

Now that it's processed students have a pretty good idea of what happened to their victim.

"So we're thinking after he was done he was standing here close to the door maybe over there."
