Former President Trumps 17-year-old granddaughter, Kai Trump, announced on social media that shed be addressing the convention Wednesday evening.

"I am honored to be speaking at the RNC at 9 pm (CDT)," she said in a post on Instagram. Kai, is expected to take the RNC stage tonight along with her father Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle (Donald Jr.'s fiance.)

Kai is the eldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife, Vanessa Trump.

An avid golfer, Kai Trump recently posted a photo on Instagram of her standing beside her grandfather after winning a tournament at the Trump International Palm Beach golf course.

She also offered words of support for Trump in a post after the assassination attempt against him on Saturday. Alongside a photo of a bloodied Trump raising his fist in the air moments after the shooting, she wrote: We love you Grandpa. Never stop fighting!

So far, three of Trump's five children Donald Jr., Tiffany and Eric have been seen at the 2024 Republican National Convention. And Erics wife, Lara (who is also the co-chair of the RNC this year,) gave the keynote speech Tuesday night. Kimberly Guilfoyle, Don Jr.'s fiance, is expected to speak tonight and Kai's mom Vanessa Trump has been seen in at the RNC Wednesday supporting her daughter.

Ivanka and Jared Kushner

Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner have yet to make an appearance at the RNC this year, despite them both serving as senior advisers during Trumps presidency.

Ivankas absence may be due to a statement she released on social media in 2022 that explained how she would be taking a step back from politics to focus on her family.

I do not plan to be involved in politics, she said on Instagram Stories. While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena.

Melania and Barron

Trump has been married to his wife Melania since 2005. She has also been absent from her husbands current presidential campaign. Her office did release a statement in May, a day after her son Barron's name appeared on a list of Florida delegates, that he would not be a delegate after all due to prior commitments. Barron was seen in Miami last week at a campaign rally for his father.

When asked about Ivanka and Melania in an interview with CBS earlier today, Eric said they "will be coming in." One possibility is for when Trump formally accepts the GOP nomination on Thursday night.

What We Know About the Assassination Attempt Against Trump – The New York Times

A man fired multiple shots toward the stage during former President Donald J. Trumps rally in Butler, Pa., on Saturday evening, killing one spectator and critically injuring two others, according to the Secret Service.

Mr. Trump was rushed off the stage, blood visible around his right ear, and was pronounced fine. The Secret Service said its agents had killed the shooter, whom federal law enforcement officials identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, Pa.

The attorney generals office and the F.B.I. are investigating the shooting as an assassination attempt and possible domestic terrorism attack.

Heres what we know about the shooting.

Mr. Trump ducked quickly after the shots began and as members of the crowd began to scream. Secret Service agents then rushed Mr. Trump off the stage. As he was escorted to his motorcade, Mr. Trump, whose face and right ear were bloodied, pumped his fist in a defiant gesture to the crowd.

He later said in a post on Truth Social, his social media platform, that he had been shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear.

Donald Trump Jr. Is Building a MAGA Bench. J.D. Vance Is Just the Start. – The New York Times

When J.D. Vance did his initial walk-through of the Republican National Convention stage this week after he was named Donald J. Trumps running mate, the Ohio senator was joined not just by aides and event organizers.

He was accompanied by a man who had pushed behind the scenes as hard as almost anyone to put him on the ticket in the first place: Donald Trump Jr.

When they each deliver a prime-time address on Wednesday night, the moment will mark not only Mr. Vances national debut but the unquestioned arrival of Donald Trump Jr. as a political force to be reckoned with in his own right.

The younger Mr. Trump is now the rarest of political creatures: a top confidant not only to the Republican presidential nominee but also the vice-presidential nominee. Soon after Mr. Vance got the call from the former president that he would be on the ticket, one of the first outbound calls he made was to the younger Mr. Trump to thank him for his help, according to a person with knowledge of the call.

Don is a power player and I think anybody in Republican politics is realizing that hes on a list of five of the most powerful conservative voices and influencers alive, said Charlie Kirk, a close Trump ally who co-founded Turning Point, a constellation of influential groups on the right, and who hosts a popular streaming show.

The 46-year-old eldest son and namesake of the former president did not enter the first Trump White House in an official role. And he said in a brief interview on Wednesday that he would not serve in a second.

A Fist Pump and a Flag: Trump Sneakers for Sale – The New York Times

His ear is still bandaged, the attempt on his life is still fresh in the nations mind, and the ardent supporter who was killed by a bullet meant for Donald J. Trump has yet to be laid to rest.

But it is not too soon for a company linked to the former president to try to make money off his brush with death.

High-top sneakers emblazoned with an image of Mr. Trump moments after he was shot, his face blood-streaked and his fist in the air, are now for sale for $299 on a website operated by 45Footwear. The company also produced the Trump-branded shoes that the former president hawked after a judge in New York ordered him to pay as much as $450 million in penalties and interest in a civil fraud case.

That company, about which little information is publicly available, uses the Trump name under a licensing agreement with CIC Ventures. Mr. Trumps latest financial disclosure form, which he had to file as a candidate, lists him as the president, manager, secretary and treasurer of CIC Ventures.

These limited edition high-tops, featuring Trumps iconic image with his fist raised, honor his unwavering determination and bravery, the product website states.

The sneakers went on sale as early as Monday, two days after the attempt on Mr. Trumps life at a campaign rally in Butler, Pa., according to archived pages of the website. A 50-year-old man, a father of two, was killed by the shooter, who was armed with a semiautomatic rifle. Mr. Trumps left ear was clipped by a bullet and two other men were injured.

Our Nation Is Not Well: Voters Fear What Could Happen Next – The New York Times

Before Saturday, when Butler, Pa., became the latest stunned backdrop for the nations political fury, Mayor Bob Dandoy thought of his town as a place that had learned to work around party lines. A Democrat in a Republican stronghold, he had campaigned on consensus.

Ive never seen a Republican or Democratic pothole, Mr. Dandoy, 71, a retired high school English teacher, would tell voters. Or a Republican or Democratic playground. Or a Republican or Democratic fire that the fire department needs to put out.

He was at dinner with his family on Saturday when a city councilman texted. One spectator was dead at Donald J. Trumps campaign rally on the farm show grounds, two more were critically injured. The former presidents right ear had been grazed by a bullet. The gunman, an isolated 20-year-old with an AR-15-style rifle, was fatally shot by the Secret Service. All this, in the town of about 13,000 where Mr. Dandoy has lived all my life.

Since then, national discord has descended on Butler with such force that this week it crashed the towns website. E-mailers charged that the city failed to protect Mr. Trump, maybe even wanted him to be a target. Callers demanded that the city admit that Mr. Trumps supporters staged the shooting. The mayor has tried to remind everyone that Butler is a community that accomplishes good things, that has worked through disagreements together. And yet, he said, the trauma has been overwhelming.

People are in a state of shock, he said. And I cant lob a platitude or give a speech and say everything is fine.

As the 2024 presidential election approaches, that unease is not limited to Butler. In interviews from the West Coast to the Deep South, Americans across party lines say they are deeply apprehensive, and not just because of last weekends attempt on a presidential candidates life.
