Nipsey Hussle Murder Suspect Eric Holder Captured, Getaway …

Exclusive Details

7:20 PM PT -- The woman who drove the getaway car spoke with LAPD detectives Tuesday and was allowed to go free ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ. We've learned the woman went to cops Tuesday and after interviewing her they let her leave. Our sources say the woman could be arrested and/or charged at some point in the future.

One source connected to the case tells us, "Sometimes you have to give a little to get a lot." Translation -- if she talks, she walks.

As we reported, TMZ spoke with a woman who was connected to the ownership of the vehicle and told us she drove the getaway car, but did not know what Holder had done.

3:30 PM PT -- Holder's been transferred to LAPD custody now. He's being held without bail for Nipsey's murder.

2:25 PM PT -- Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, murder suspect Eric Holder is in custody. The man arrested early Tuesday afternoon is in fact Holder, who is suspected of murdering Nipsey Hussle. The woman who is the suspected getaway driver reportedly turned herself in.

1:35 PM PT -- A man matching Eric Holder's description has reportedly been captured in the L.A. suburb of Bellflower.

Law enforcement sources tell us L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. deputiesnabbed him around12:53 PM in the 9000 block of Artesia Blvd.

We're told he's been detained for now, and LAPD is responding to make a positive ID. Dispatch audio TMZ has obtained identifies a "possible 187 suspect," meaning homicide suspect. They then confirm they have a detainee in custody, matching Holder's description.

9:33 AM PT -- The LAPD's presser just wrapped, and a number of details in the Nipsey murder case were revealed. One of the most intriguing was an email that either Nipsey himself or someone at Roc Nation sent to L.A. Police Commissioner Steve Soboroff, which he read publicly.

As we reported, Nipsey wanted to get together with the police to work on ways to prevent gang violence in his neighborhood.

The email read, "Our goal is to work with the department to help improve communication, relationships and work toward changing the culture and dialogue between LAPD and the inner city. We want to hear about your new program and your goals for the department, as well as how we can help stop gang violence."

Soboroff says the meeting will happen in honor of Nipsey whenever his family and Roc Nation are ready to do it.

LAPD Police Chief Michel Mooresays he doesn't believe Nipsey's murder -- allegedly carried out at the hands of Eric Holder -- was gang-related per se ... in that it wasn't a conflict between rival gangs. Moore says there was a personal dispute between them.

Chief Moore urged Holder to surrender, and anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.

8:00 AM PT -- The LAPD will hold a news conference at 8:30 AM PT to reveal developments in the case. We will be live streaming.

Cops think they have the guy who murderedNipsey Hussle... because they just named him as a suspect and apparently have issued an arrest warrant.

The LAPD says, "Eric Holder is wanted for the homicide in the shooting of Nipsey Hussle. He was last seen in a 2016 white 4 door Chevy Cruze, CA license plate 7RJD742. Anyone with information related to his whereabouts or this deadly shooting is urged to contact South Bureau Homicide at 323 786-5100."

Our law enforcement sources tell TMZ, at the time of this post they have not located Holder who goes by the street name "Shitty."

We broke the story ... Nipsey was brutally murdered Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles, where he was gunned down outside his clothing store in the Hyde Park neighborhood. The Crenshaw rapper was pronounced dead at the hospital after paramedics performed CPR at the murder scene and during the ambulance ride. The L.A. County Medical Coroner says Nipsey died from gunshot wounds to his head and torso. Two other people were shot, but they survived.

Nipsey was murdered in view of a surveillance camera, and footage shows the shooter -- the man in the dark shirt -- opening fire 3 different times on Nipsey before kicking his body and fleeing toward a back alley.

Our sources tell us sometime before the shooting, "Shitty" had a tense exchange with Nipsey. We're told Nipsey asked him if he had snitched to cops in the past, because that was the word around town. We're told "Shitty" felt disrespected, left to grab a gun ... then allegedly returned to get revenge.

Police previously described the shooter as a black male in his 20s, and cops believe he escaped in a vehicle with a woman behind the wheel.

As we reported ... Nipsey had planned to meet with LAPD brass Monday -- ironically, to talk about gang violence prevention.

In a strange twist ... Nipsey seems to have alluded to "enemies" in a tweet posted to his account just before the shooting. He wrote, "Having strong enemies is a blessing."

Nipsey's sudden death has sent shock waves through Hollywood ... with artists like Drake, Offset, Meek Mill, J. Cole, Pusha T, Vince Staples, Chance the Rapper, Rihanna and Snoop Dogg posting tributes, as well as sports stars like LeBron James, Jalen Ramsey and Marcus Stroman.

Former Los Angeles Lakers star Jordan Clarkson went on a nightclub rant after the murder, grabbing the mic at a Scottsdale nightclub for a heartfelt speech on gun and gang violence.

T.I. told us why he thinks Nipsey was murdered because of envy and hate ... whileThe Gamesaid he was dumbfounded by the fact Nipsey was gunned down in his own hood.

Nipsey had been dating Lauren London since at least 2015, when she got pregnant with the couple's first child. Lauren has yet to say anything publicly since the shooting.

Nipsey was just 33.

Nipsey Hussle murder suspect Eric Holder arrested by LAPD

UPDATE:Eric Holder, the chief suspect in theNipsey Husslemurder, has been apprehended in the Los Angeles suburb of Bellflower, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Holders arrest came after the woman who was his alleged getaway driver turned herself in to authorities, according to police.

The news came hours after a morning news conference in which the LAPD publicly identified the 29-year-Holder and issued a warrant for his arrest, calling him a substantial risk to public safety.

Police had released a photo of Holder with information about the vehicle he was last seen in. The department said it was seeking the publics help in locating the suspect involved in a multiple victim shooting which resulted in a homicide.

We believe with probable cause and a degree of certainty that Mr. Holder walked up on multiple occasions and engaged in a conversation with Nipsey and the others that were there,LAPD Chief Michel Moore said in a press conference Tuesday morning. He left and then came back and subsequently came back armed with a handgun and purposefully and repeatedly fired, striking and killing Nipsey Hussle.

Hussle, real name Ermias Joseph Asghedom, died on Sunday afternoon after being shot outside his South Los Angeles clothing store, Marathon Clothing. He was 33. Two other men were injured in the incident, but survived. The murder came weeks after the activists only studio album, Victory Lap, was up for Best Rap Album at the 61st Grammy Awards.

Moore believes the motive was personal and not a dispute related to rivalries between gangs. (It was initially speculated the fatal shooting was gang-related as Hussle had spoken of his previous affiliation with the Rollin 60s Crips.) However, Moore said Holder is believed to be a member of a street gang.

We believe this to be a dispute between Mr. Hussle and Mr. Holder, he told reporters. Im not going to go into the conversations, but it appears to be a personal matter between the two of them in regards to a dispute and Ill leave it at that. Moore confirmed that policebelieve they were known to each other.

Aside from Holder, the LAPD announced detectives were interested in identifying and apprehending the driver of the vehicle the suspect was last seen in.

These two individuals, Mr. Holder and the female that was driving the vehicle are our primary interest, Moore revealed, saying they will pursue and vigorously prosecute anyone helping or harboring Holder. There should be no safe haven for this individual.

On Monday night, chaos erupted at a vigil outside of Marathon Clothing where hundreds of people gathered to pay their respect to Hussle, who did so much for the South Los Angeles community. One person was stabbed and others injured after someone in the crowd was spotted with a handgun, according to Moore.

We have no information that he shot anyone with it, but that another individual there seeing that attempted to disarm him. In that struggle, it caused panic in that group of hundreds of people, Moore explained, saying the panic caused a stampede. Many of the injuries were sustained from falls.

TMZ obtained surveillance footage that appears to show the murder suspect. Thirty minutes before the shooting, the Los Angeles born rapper tweeted about having strong enemies.

The L.A. County Coroners Office confirmed on Monday that Hussle died of gunshot wounds to the head and torso. The manner of death was ruled a homicide.

The Racks in the Middle rapper was supposed to meet Monday with Moore and Commissioner Steve Soboroff to talk about ways he could help stop gang violence and help us help kids, according to Soboroff. Hussle was widely known for his work around the community and giving back to South Los Angeles.

In interviews, Hussle did not hide the fact he joined the Rollin 60s gang as a teenager.

We dealt with death, with murder, he later told The Times in 2018. It was like living in a war zone, where people die on these blocks and everybody is a little bit immune to it. I guess they call it post-traumatic stress, when you have people that have been at war for such a long time. I think L.A. suffers from that because its not normal yet we embrace it like it is after a while.

Moore held a meeting Monday at the Watts Civic Center and vowed to bring Hussles assailants to justice, calling the circumstances tragic. Throughout the years as he fostered success in his music career he chose, rather than to leave to come back and reinvest. And to reinvest and try to address the various underpinnings that fostered this environment, he declared.

Community leaders have urged people to come forward with information and not retaliate.

Violent retaliation for this event will not be tolerated, Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas said, per The Times. Our communities have lost too many young men and bright futures to the scourge of gun violence. For healing to occur, even from this terrible incident, justice must be sought through legal means, and community peace must be found.

On Tuesday afternoon, the LAPD announced that it has arrested Eric Holder, a 29-year-old Los Angeles man whom authorities have identified as the suspect in the Sunday killing of rapper and entrepreneur Nipsey Hussle on Sunday afternoon.

The suspect was first arrested by police in the city of Bellflower in Los Angeles County, the LAPD confirmed to NPR.

According to a police statement issued on Monday, it is believed that Holder walked up to three men in front of Marathon Clothing, the 33-year-old musician's store in the Crenshaw area of South Los Angeles, and fired numerous times at them. Holder then allegedly fled the shooting as the passenger in a white 2016 Chevy Cruze driven by an unidentified woman. The LAPD told NPR on Tuesday afternoon that it had no updates on the woman driving the car.

At a press conference held Tuesday morning that included L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti and LAPD chief Michel Moore, Moore said that based on video evidence and witness statements, Holder allegedly spoke to Nipsey Hussle, left the area and then came back with a gun. He added that the police believes there was some kind of dispute between Nipsey Hussle and Holder, but declined to characterize the nature of the argument. (Moore later said, in answering a question from the media, that the LAPD believes that Holder is a gang member and Nipsey Hussle's past gang activity is known but Moore declined to say that the killing was in any way gang-related.)

The Grammy-nominated Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Asghedom, died from his wounds. A longtime community philanthropist and activist, he had been scheduled to meet Tuesday with L.A. police commissioner Steve Soboroff and Moore about ways to help stop gang violence. "I'm very sad," Soboroff wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, there was a stampede at a memorial vigil held for Nipsey Hussle Monday evening. At the Tuesday press conference, Michel Moore said that someone in the crowd who was armed either brandished or displayed a gun, and that another person attempted to disarm him to protect the crowd.

Moore posted on Twitter Monday night that 13 people sustained injuries as attendees fled; 12 were treated onsite. Multiple news outlets later reported that, per the Los Angeles Fire Department, at least 19 people were injured. Most of those were injured by falls, sprains and being cut by glass; Moore said that some in the crowd were throwing glass at the police. One person was reportedly stabbed.

The chaos in the crowd was frightening. "Tonight was the first night in a while that I honestly felt scared on the job," ABC7 reporter Veronica Miracle wrote on Twitter. "Babies were screaming, people were shoving themselves under our @ABC7 news van for cover while crying, people were trampled. My heart hurts for everyone who came here to mourn @NipseyHussle's death."

Chief Moore also posted on Monday evening that Nipsey Hussle's death was one of 26 shootings and 10 homicides that have occurred in Los Angeles in the week since March 24.

"That's 36 families left picking up the pieces," Moore wrote on Twitter. "We will work aggressively with our community to quell this senseless loss of life."
