Seapine Software Supports “Serving It Up for Special Olympics”

CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Seapine Software is sponsoring Serving It Up for Special Olympics, a fundraising event on Saturday, June 1, at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. The event begins with a free afternoon tennis clinic for Special Olympians, followed by a meet and greet with several Cincinnati Bengals. Evening events for guests include round robin tennis, dancing, a raffle, and more.

Organized by United States Tennis Association (USTA) teaching professional Cathy Thomas, the second annual fundraiser benefits Special Olympics Hamilton County, which serves more than 1,800 athletes with developmental and mental disabilities, ranging in age from eight to 80. This years fundraising goal is $20,000, and all money raised goes to help pay for facility costs, equipment, uniforms, medals and ribbons and transportation costs for state competitions.

This years event begins with a 2 p.m. free clinic for Special Olympians, followed by a 4 p.m. round robin doubles social and an evening of entertainment. Items in the raffle include a Western & Southern tennis tournament suite with VIP tickets; a signed U.C. football and basketball, plus game tickets; a signed Maria Sharopova tennis racquet; a signed Milos Ranic tennis racquet; Cincinnati Bengals tickets; concert tickets, including a limo to and from the concert; and more.

From the afternoon tennis clinic for the Olympians to the evening entertainment, this event offers something for everyone, said Rick Riccetti, president and CEO, Seapine Software. Guests are also able to tour the Lindner Family Tennis Center, one of the premier professional tennis facilities in the country, which is unique for this type of event.

The clinic is open to all special needs athletes, not just those who know how to play tennis. More than 20 Special Olympians played last year, and organizers hope to double the participant level this year.

The cost for the event is $75 per person with tennis or $50 per person without tennis. For groups of six or more, cost drops to $65 per person with tennis and $45 without. The clinic for Special Olympians at 2 p.m. is free.

The deadline for reservations is May 17, but guests will also be able to buy tickets at the gate on the day of the event. To RSVP, contact Cathy Thomas at Cthomas6@cinci.rr.com or at (513) 504-6738.
