Last year, onOne Software offered a free download of their Perfect Effects 8 program. Recently, they started offering an upgraded version, the Perfect Effects 9 also for free. This program can be used as a Photoshop or Lightroom plugin or as a stand-alone tool. It has customizable filters and hundreds of presets. The software is free as a special deal for 500px (http://500px.com) members. But anyone can still download Perfect Effects 9 for free. Just fill in your email, name, and country at http://www.on1.com/500px and a download link and license number will be sent to you within minutes. There are versions of the program for both Mac and Windows. Download size is a hefty 280 MB.

After downloading the templates from http://www.lenshoods.co.uk and http://www.lenshoods.net, just print them out on A4, A3, or A2 paper, cut it out of black card stock, and assemble it with tape or glue. If you are a subscriber at http://www.lenshoods.net, the site even allows you to design your custom lenshood.
