JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -
With a ruling on whether Marissa Alexander will get a second "Stand Your Ground" hearing in her retrial is pending and Floridas so-called warning shot bill" awaiting action from Gov. Rick Scott, the issue most Floridians first heard about during the George Zimmerman trial remains an ongoing debate.
To separate fact from fiction and hear arguments from all sides of the issue, WJXT has partnered with WJCT to simulcast "First Coast Forum: Stand Your Ground" at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
Florida Coastal School of Law professor Rod Sullivan is among the panelists of experts who will discuss the law with hosts Kent Justice and Melissa Ross.
The parents of Jordan Davis will also be on the program to discuss Florida's controversial self-defense laws.
The collaboration is part of News4Jax's continuing Firearms in Florida project. To review articles and multimedia from the series, visit the Project 4 special section.
