Hillary Clinton slammed Republicans as spineless Thursday for sticking beside President Trump instead of denouncing his unproven claims of the recent White House race being riddled with fraud.

Mrs. Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee in the 2016 race won by Mr. Trump, took issue on Twitter with elected members of the GOP for doing what she described as humoring his baseless claims.

The election was not close. There was no evidence of fraud. The states have certified the results. Yet Trump continues to try to overturn the election at the expense of our democracy, said Mrs. Clinton.

Mr. Trump and some fellow Republicans supportive of his recent campaign for reelection allege Democratic rival Joseph R. Biden won the race due to fraud, but their claims have not been corroborated.

A survey of all 249 Republicans in the House of Representatives and Senate found that roughly one-in-ten publicly acknowledged Mr. Biden defeated Mr. Trump, The Washington Post reported Saturday.

The Clinton Family Foundation has a New York address, but its giving continues to benefit several nonprofit groups across Arkansas, Internal Revenue Service records show.

The charitable organization, which is funded entirely by the former first family, distributed more than $1.6 million last year to dozens of educational and charitable institutions across the country.

The largest amount -- $602,027, was given to the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation, a separate nonprofit group that supports the Clinton Presidential Center while also promoting economic opportunity, global health and public service. The organization has offices in Little Rock and New York City.

The Chappaqua, N.Y.-based family foundation routed another $227,000 to a variety of Arkansas groups.

The Thea Foundation in North Little Rock received $100,000. The organization, which promotes arts education, honors the memory of Thea Kay Leopoulos. Her father, Paul, has been friends with Bill Clinton since grade school.

Since Thea Kay Leopoulos' death in 2001, Clinton has been one of the organization's biggest benefactors, serving for years on its board of directors and helping it raise money.

For a small nonprofit, "those kinds of gifts are very, very few and far between, so we are extremely grateful," said Nick Leopoulos, Thea's brother and the organization's executive director. "We count ourselves very lucky to have that kind of support."

Another $50,000 went to the Arkansas Arts Center Foundation in Little Rock. During his time as governor, Clinton and his family regularly visited the Arts Center. Daughter Chelsea also participated in its Summer Theatre Academy, according to the organization's website.

Thrive Inc., a nonprofit design and economic development firm based in Helena-West Helena, was given $40,000. The organization is led by Will Staley, whose mother, Carolyn Staley, grew up next door to Bill Clinton in Hot Springs.

Thrive recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. It seeks to train and equip young people while also promoting the Delta and working to foster improvements, such as street murals and hiking trails, Will Staley said.

The Clinton family's support was crucial, particularly at the start, Staley said.

"If it wasn't for them with their initial backing over the years, then we certainly wouldn't be here," he said. "They believed in us early on, and it really opened a lot of doors for us."

"We're lucky because Bill Clinton, especially, and Hillary have always had a huge heart for the Delta," he said.

Philander Smith College in Little Rock received $5,000. The donation honors the memory of one of its alumni, Carol Willis, who died on Sept. 4, 2018. Clinton had called Willis "one of my most effective and trusted campaign aides and advisers." The foundation made a similar donation in 2018, as well.

Other gifts benefited the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service ($25,000); the Clinton Birthplace Foundation in Hope ($5,000) and the University of Arkansas at Monticello Foundation Fund ($1,000), as well as Little Rock's Sculpture at the River Market Inc. ($1,000). That gift helped pay for artwork marking the centennial of women's suffrage.

"We were absolutely thrilled that the secretary [of state] wanted to be a part of this important sculpture for the city of Little Rock," said Jane Rogers, the group's president.

The Clinton Family Foundation received $988,806 in securities last year from the former president and from the former secretary of state.

The former Arkansas governor serves as its president, his wife is its secretary-treasurer, and their daughter is its director.

As of Dec. 31, it showed net assets of $1.13 million.

None of the Clintons are paid for their service.

Between 2014 and 2019, the family foundation donated roughly $11.5 million to charity, according to their most recent 990-PF form.

A family spokesman said the former president and his wife have consistently given 10% of their income to charitable causes.

Since its launch in 2001, the foundation has consistently supported educational institutions that helped pave the way for the Clintons' success.

That pattern continued in 2019, with $100,000 going to Yale Law School, where both Clintons studied. Hillary Clinton's undergraduate alma mater, Wellesley College, received $50,000, while $50,000 was directed to Americans for Oxford Inc. (Bill Clinton is a former Rhodes scholar.) Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., where Chelsea Clinton studied, received $10,000.

The family also earmarked $200,000 for the George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates, a nonprofit physician group affiliated with the school. The Rodham Institute, which seeks to "achieve health equity in Washington, D.C.," is named in honor of the former secretary of state's mother, Dorothy E. Rodham, and is housed within George Washington's School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Several of the gifts benefited institutions in Chappaqua, the Clintons' adopted hometown roughly 35 miles north of Manhattan, including $20,000 for First Congregational Church of Chappaqua; $5,000 for the Chappaqua Volunteer Ambulance Corps; and $5,000 to the Making Headway Foundation, which assists the families of children with spinal cord or brain tumors.

Two organizations in Mount Kisco, which borders Chappaqua, also benefited: Neighbors Link, which serves immigrant families, and the town's United Methodist Church. Each received $5,000 contributions. Another $5,000 went to Friends of the Rockefeller State Park Preserve, also in Westchester County, N.Y.

The list of other beneficiaries ranged from Boston to Belleveue, Wash., and featured several New York City institutions that were also 2018 recipients: The Africa Center ($50,000); the American India Foundation ($20,000); the School of American Ballet ($35,000); the Girl Scouts of Greater New York ($5,000); and New York Public Radio ($1,200).

For reasons that remain mysterious (hint, its sexism!) The Wall Street Journal decided to publish a humiliating op-ed from a guy whose main credential seems to be that he is a man. This man had some unsolicited advice for future first lady Jill Biden.

The essay carries the energy of a man at a bus stop you accidentally made eye contact with who is now sharing every opinion hes ever had with you as you silently point to your earphones, to no avail. For the analogy to really work though, add to the equation a major newspaper deciding to publish his ramblings.

These women are not here to fit the mold; theyre coming at the White House to rebuild it for the generations of women who come after them.

This honestly feels more offensive to Team Trump than Team Biden because Donald-accused-by-26-women-of-sexual-misconduct-Trump would hate to know his name is being used to describe anyone fighting to eradicate sexism, a core and defining part of his brand.

And leaving no sexist stone unturned, the right-wing extremist Ben Shapiro, true to his well-documented trolling and misogynistic roots, piled onto possibly the most inarticulate argument of all time, tweeting that only people with Ph.D.'s in hard sciences and medical doctors should be called doctor.

Wow. Where do we even begin? This absolute tidal wave of misguided men publicly documenting their sophomoric feelings about self-determined and defining women feels embarrassing. But its not original. What Epstein, the Wall Street Journal and Shapiro are doing is not unique; its conforming to a culture that regularly diminishes or flat-out erases womens contributions.

Research from linguists shows that women M.D.s are less likely to be introduced as doctors than their male counterparts, by a lot. The study found that when men introduced other men they referred to their title as doctor 72 percent of the time. When it was women, they referred to them as doctors 49.2 percent of the time. Female doctors are paid less despite being better at their job and better at keeping people alive.

These attacks on female Ph.D. holders also come during a year where submissions of academic papers by women have decreased by 50 percent, while they've increased by 50 percent from men.

But of course, male discomfort with Dr. Biden calling herself by her preferred title is even more enraging to those against progress because shell be first lady, a role that requires women to obey some of the most archaic conceptions of womanhood.

The current first lady, Melania Trump, couldnt better fulfill the outdated feminine stereotype, as a version of female empowerment that's palatable, especially to men: a conventionally attractive woman who appears to be ornamental to her husband, launching shallow and ineffective programs like Be Best and traveling to Africa dressed in colonial cosplay. Trumps daughter Ivanka arguably had much more enterprising projects.

I saw the unique treatment reserved for first ladies firsthand when I reported from Trumps inauguration in 2016. Ill never forget when Melania Trump came on the big screen right after the camera panned to Hillary Clinton. Naturally, as I expected, the crowd booed Clinton. But instead of going from boos to cheers for Melania, it went from boos to catcalls and whistles from the men in the crowd. It was like they couldnt be happier to have a woman whose value appears to be attractive and silent rather than ambitious and pioneering.

Weve seen right-wing conservatives panic at the idea of losing a parody of their definition of masculinity in Trump, and now were seeing them panic at the idea of also losing their definition of femininity in a first lady. While Melania Trump may have tried (and very much failed) to keep her frustrations about some of the frivolous and domesticating duties of a first lady, Jill Biden wont be ornamental shell be self-determining. And shell be the first first lady to keep her day job.

Just like Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, whose name conservatives have deliberately fumbled to discredit her, these women are not here to fit the mold; theyre coming to the White House to rebuild it for the generations of women who will come after them. These scared men better learn how to say their names. History books certainly will.

New Yorks most powerful Democrats, including Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton, will likely descend on the state capitol in Albany next week to participate in the states Electoral College vote, handing the states 29 electoral votes for former Vice President Joe Biden.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo, whos also one of the states electors, said Tuesday that state law will likely prevent the vote from being conducted virtually.

We dont believe, legally, you can do it virtually, Cuomo said. Theyre going to have to come assemble in the capitol.

Its unclear where the vote will be held. In the past, the Electoral College vote has been held in the State Senate chamber. That could be too tight this year given social distancing rules in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

State law requires the vote to be held at noon on the first Monday after the second Wednesday of December, which lands on next Monday, December 14.

The vote is largely procedural; New York will award each of its 29 electoral votes to Biden as the winner of the states popular vote. The state did the same in 2016 when it awarded its votes to Hillary Clinton, who lost that years election to President Donald Trump.

The states Electoral College is a real whos who of state politics, singling out some of the most prominent Democrats.

Along with Cuomo and the Clintons, the states electors include Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul, Attorney General Letitia James, Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, New York City Council Speaker Corey Johnson and more.

The list of electors also includes people who dont hold elected office, like Mario Cilento, president of the state AFL-CIO and Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers.

Some of the states mayors including Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, and Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren are also on the list of electors.

Cuomo also voiced support for changing the Electoral College, which has been the subject of criticism in the past when candidates for president lost the popular vote but secured the election through electoral votes.

"I think the time might've come to change the Electoral College, and I would support that change," Cuomo said.

He didnt provide details, but predicted that public support for changing the nations presidential election system may have grown enough in recent years to spur action from federal lawmakers.

This might be the election that puts it over the edge, Cuomo said.
