HILLARY Clinton could be in position to make a dramatic comeback and run for president again in 2024.

Clinton would be the ideal choice to 'best option' to lead Democrats in the next presidential election in 2024, where she would potentially face off against Donald Trump for a second time, according to two top party operatives.

"Given the likelihood that Democrats will lose control of Congress in 2022, we can anticipate that Mrs. Clinton will begin shortly after the midterms to position herself as an experienced candidate capable of leading Democrats on a new and more successful path," Douglas E. Schoen and Andrew Stein wrote in the Wall Street Journal.

The prediction comes after Clinton has given a number of interviews recently, sparking rumors she could be plotting a comeback.

If she was to run for president, it would also mean President Joe Biden could be replaced by the party.

Biden would be 81 when he is sworn in for a second term, if he ran again in 2024 and was successful. That would make him the oldest president in history.

Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has said she is disappointed in some crypto exchanges that have not banned Russian users from their platforms.

I was disappointed to see that some of the so-called crypto exchanges, not all of them, but some of them, are refusing to end transactions with Russia, Clinton said during a recent interview on The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC.

She added that everybody should do as much as possible to isolate Russian economic activity right now.

Several crypto exchanges, including Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken, have declined the option to ban all Russian users, stating there are no legal grounds to do so.

Most, however, have made it clear they will comply with sanctions if they were expanded to individual citizens.

In contrast, Whitebitone of the crypto exchanges Ukraine has asked to restrict Russian userssaid the exchange had introduced procedures for checking sanctions lists.

Procedures for checking for sanctions lists have been introduced, trading activities with RUB [Russian ruble] have been closed, and registration for users from the countries of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus has been suspended, Whitebit said via email to Decrypt.

I think there is a reputation issue here. Do you want now or after the fact to be known as the exchange that facilitated sanctions evasion, even if it were not technically illegal? Tom Keatinge, founding Director of the Centre for Financial Crime and Security Studies and the Royal United Services Institute, recently told Decrypt.

I wonder if the exchanges will follow the same path as Eurovision or FIFA. I guess they can make their choice, but when they lose Western banking access for having facilitated sanctions evasion, they might regret it, Keatinge added.

During her interview, Clinton also took the opportunity to call for Western actors to do more to crack down on how Russia may use crypto to evade sanctions.

I do think that the Treasury Department [and] the Europeans, should look hard at how they can prevent the crypto markets from giving an escape hatch to Russia, both governmental and private transactions in and out of Russia, she said.

This is not the first time Clinton has raised a red flag concerning the broader crypto industry.

Last November, Clinton said cryptocurrencies have the potential to undermine the U.S. dollar.

What looks like a very interesting and exotic efforthas the potential for undermining currencies, for undermining the role of the dollars as reserve currencies, for destabilizing nations, she said.

That same month, Clinton called on the Biden administration to regulate cryptocurrencies in the face of states and non-states manipulating the technology.

Were looking at not only states such as China or Russia manipulating technology of all kinds to their advantage. Were looking at non-state actors, either in concert with states or on their own, destabilizing countries, destabilizing the dollar as the reserve currency, she added.

Its long been a truism in American politics that nothing gets a Republicans blood boiling like Hillary Rodham Clinton.

From the moment Ms Clinton stepped onto the national stage as the woman who would be first lady if the then Arkansas governor Bill Clinton were elected president, Ms Clinton has become an almost mythical figure in the cosmology of right-wing activists, who credit her with a whole host of alleged crimes, none of them credible.

In the annals of GOP conspiracy-mongers, Ms Clinton is said to have staged the suicide of her husbands deputy White House counsel, arranged a street robbery to cover up the murder of a Democratic National Committee staffer, and has even been alleged to have masterminded the strangulation of Jeffrey Epstein, who at the time was locked away in a high security detention cell in custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

The former US secretary of states bete noire status among the Republican faithful is one of the many reasons so many conservative activists who would have normally shunned a thrice-married ex-Democrat such as Donald Trump flocked to his banner and stayed with him throughout his first campaign. Defeating her was all that mattered to them.

But with Ms Clinton more than five years removed from her last campaign, it seems Republicans just cant live without using her or other women in politics as foils to drum up outrage.

Despite the former New York senator having made an exit from electoral politics years ago, GOP talking heads are hard at work finding ways to resurrect old right-wing storylines about Ms Clinton and are even integrating her into the conspiracy theories theyve spun around the current president, Joe Biden.

Mr Biden is in his first term, and though he is the oldest person ever elected to the presidency, he has said he will run for a second term in the 2024 general election.

But his popularity has waned since he took office, leaving his approval ratings just above what Mr Trumps were at this point in his presidency. And rather than accept at face value the idea that Mr Biden believes he can recover enough support to win re-election (possibly in a rematch with Mr Trump), Republicans are salivating over the far-fetched idea that Ms Clinton will jump back into the fray.

According to the New York Post, political strategist turned conservative media personality Dick Morris is convinced there will be a 2024 primary without Mr Biden as a candidate, and in his estimation, the two top candidates who will battle for the nomination are Ms Clinton and New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Speaking on a panel at the Conservative Political Action conference on Saturday, conservative commentator and ex-Trump administration Treasury spokesperson Monica Crowley called her a corrupt, deep state criminal and morally bankrupt sociopath who has inflicted more damage on this nation than any other modern American politician, though she offered no evidence to support any of those assertions.

That being said none of that will stop her from running for president, she continued, ignoring the fact that Ms Clinton has expressed no desire to return to politics.

Ms Crowley added that she believes the former secretary of state not the sitting president will be the Democratic nominee in 2024, and Ms Clinton will big-foot vice president Kamala Harris out of the running.

At the same panel, Jack Posobiec, a former Game of Thrones blogger turned right-wing-media figure whom the Southern Poverty Law Centre lists as having white nationalist ties, went even further in characterising Ms Harris as an ambitious backstabber who was probably scheming to force Mr Biden out of office before the end of his first term.

When youre anybody whos looking at the presidency, right, and you want to pick your vice president, probably the last person you should pick is someone who is obviously going to stab you in the back like Cersei Lannister at a wine party, as fast as possible thats exactly who Kamala Harris is, he said.

Mr Posobiec added that the vice president was an empty pantsuit whose only shot at the presidency is to kick Mr Biden from the White House and, without any evidence, claimed plans were in the making for exactly that course of action.

They are going to try to kick Joe Biden out of this White House. Because they dont want him facing Putin and Xi and all the rest of it, and theyre gonna put her in there, he said.

But asked about the possibility that other Democratic women such as Ms Clinton or another former first lady, Michelle Obama (who has never expressed any desire to stand for election), could run as well, he suggested a seemingly dire outcome.

If youre standing in Hillary Clintons way to the White House in a primary, that might be one of the most dangerous places youve ever stood in your life. She dont care if youre Michelle Obama or Kamala Harris, that woman is coming and she is coming for you.

Former presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard was shunned from Washington after fellow Democrats, including Hillary Clinton, called her out for having alleged ties to Russia - which led the former Democratic congresswoman to question why no one gave the accusation a second thought in a new episode of Fox Nations "Tucker Carlson Today."

"It was never questioned," she said. "No one questioned, like, where is your evidence of this?"

As a U.S. Army Reserve officer, Gabbard wondered how the American people could believe a narrative that defames a sitting member of Congress on the Armed Services Committee who "wears our country in uniform" and has put her life "on the line" for our country.

Gabbard specified how politicians and the media alike are expected to obey the agenda of the left, or else face the consequences of cancelation like she has since putting her hat in the 2020 presidential ring.

"It points to, kind of, the culture in Washington," she said. "Its the team spirit youre either on our team, or youre not. Youre toeing the party line or the company line, or youre not. And if you dare to challenge, if you dare to question, if you dare to speak the truth about whats happening the challenges we face I think thats where you see that kind of shift."

"Shift?" Tucker emphasized. "With your signature understatement, yes, a shift!"

Gabbard likened the inner circle of politicians and journalists to a "popularity contest," explaining they're primarily focused on image over their core responsibilities of representing their constituents and telling the truth.

Donald Trump gave his strongest hint yet, in a speech to CPAC conservatives Saturday, that he plans to run for president in 2024.

We did it twice, and well do it again, Trump said. Were going to be doing it again, a third time.

The longer Joe Biden is in office, the more palatable Trump looks to voters who rejected him in 2020.

But as assorted grifters peddle alleged access to the former president at Mar-a-Lago for candidates desperate for his endorsement, his judgment will be on the line at the midterms. The success or failure of his chosen candidates will likely play a part in Republican calculations about 2024.

Also factored in will be the Democratic ticket in 2024.

After an expected midterm shellacking, Biden will be pressed to announce he is not seeking a second term at age 81.

And, as preposterous as it sounds, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez vs. Hillary Clinton is the matchup to watch, according to former Democratic strategist Dick Morris.

The wunderkind behind Bill Clintons electoral success in the 1990s, Morris contends that the Democratic establishment will first get behind Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, whose command of $2 trillion in patronage and jobs via his portfolio gives him an advantage in campaign contributions. On the identity politics card, which is the prerequisite for any Democratic candidate, he ticks the gay box, but Morris says that wont win him black votes.

Instead, a black candidate like Cory Booker will enter the field.

While Kamala Harris ticks two boxes, female and black, her intractable unpopularity and poor performance as vice president would see her drop out of the primaries before Iowa, as she did in 2016, unless she is a masochist.

The vacuum she leaves will set off momentum for a woman [candidate] that will benefit Hillarys candidacy.

The Democrats progressive wing will back AOC, the heir to Bernie Sanders, who ticks two boxes: female and person of color.

AOC conveniently turns 35 on Oct. 13, 2024, three weeks before the election, meaning she will be constitutionally eligible to be president.

They will realize its either Hillary or their own woman, AOC the progressives will rally behind AOC [and] say the reason we lost in 22 was we didnt go far enough left, [so] we have to go further to the left.

Cue Hillary Clinton. She will come into this race as the savior of the Democratic Party, Morris told listeners to his WABC radio show last week.

The primary contests will fuse Hillary as the hope that will save us from the extreme left.

As the primaries drag on, the contest will come down to Hillary and AOC, Morris contends. The grassroots momentum will be with AOC, just as it was with Sanders, and then the establishment will have to decide whether to snatch the presidential nomination from the left, as it did in 2016 and 2020, and hand the nomination to Hillary.

AOC and her supporters are less likely to accept being stiffed without a fight.

Morris is reviled by Democrats for turning on the Clintons and embracing Trump, but his insight into his former comrades is worth considering.

And both Hillary and AOC are everywhere at the moment, showcasing their wares.

The day after Russia invaded Ukraine last week, Hillary weighed in with her best secretary of state gravitas to blame the Republicans in an interview with MSNBC on Morning Joe. She headlined the state Democratic convention in New York earlier this month, walking onstage to rapturous applause and the song Unstoppable.

If you think Hillary might be stopped by the current drip-drip from the Durham investigation of her scandalous frame-up of Trump as a Russian agent, forget it. Judging by past performance, the liberal media will ignore Durham and no one voting in the Democratic primaries will know or care, just as Hunter Bidens laptop scandal was kept from voters.

Hillary is the queen of projection, saying last week: Its funny, the more trouble Trump gets into, the wilder the charges and conspiracy theories about me seem to get.

AOC, meanwhile, is on the cover of New York magazine this week and features in a gushing new biography, Take Up Space: The Unprecedented AOC, which compares her to FDR and JFK.

With her baby voice, vacuous ideas and social media narcissism, she seems impossibly unpresidential, but the domestic climate in 2024 may suit her.

Her stint working as a bartender gives her enough credibility to claim membership in the outsider working class, despite the fact she grew up in the affluent Westchester suburbs.

And with a new cohort of Gen Z voters coming on tap in 2024, brimful of COVID resentment, the chance of a backlash against geriatric candidates is high.

Hillary will be 77 on Election Day. Trump will be 78, the same age Biden was when he became president.

There is a rational school of thought that says the older generations have outlived their welcome and screwed everything up royally. Gen Zs had their education and career prospects ruined for a virus that didnt affect them and have lost respect for selfish elders who betrayed them through the pandemic.

They will drive generational change at the 2024 election, if they have a candidate who speaks their language. Enter AOC, promising free tuition, free health care, climate alarm and indulging the grievances of youth.

President Ocasio-Cortez sounds like a joke, but so did President Trump.
