Hillary Clinton Practices Pitch to Millennials

TEMPE, Ariz. Young voters gave Hillary Clinton trouble in the 2008 presidential race and its not clear whether theyll warm to her should she campaign for president again in 2016.

But Mrs. Clinton has ample opportunity to make inroads with teens and 20-somethings as she spends the rest of the year considering whether to run.

This weekend proved to be one such occasion.

Mrs. Clinton made several appearances before the 1,000 college students who turned out for Clinton Global Initiative University, a project of her familys charitable foundation.

She took part in a panel with her husband and daughter Chelsea on Saturday night, fielding questions from students and late night TV host Jimmy Kimmel.

She also gave introductory remarks at a panel devoted to higher education, previewing what could be her message to young voters if she jumps in the race.

She laid out one of the main problems confronting young people the grim job market.

There are six million young people in this country between the ages of 16 and 24 who are neither employed nor in school, she said. And even for a young person with a college degree its difficult to find a good job.

She talked about the importance of finding work, tying it to her own biography. Mrs. Clinton mentioned she had learned things in every job she held, beginning with a part-time gig at a park in the Chicago suburbs when she was 13. The job posed a logistical challenge how to find a way to haul board games and a volleyball to the park to keep the kids entertained, she said. With her father using the car to get to work and her bicycle insufficient for the task, she wound up pulling a wagon.

She said she prayed nobody I knew would ever see me as I was going by their homes.

Jeb Bush, Hillary Clinton to discuss education

IRVING, Texas (AP) Their presidential plans may be uncertain but one thing is clear: Jeb Bush and Hillary Rodham Clinton keep bumping into each other.

Bush and Clinton were taking the podium Monday at a higher education conference in suburban Dallas organized by Bush, the former Florida governor who is the brother and son of Republican presidents. The former secretary of state, whose husband, Bill Clinton, served two terms in the White House, is the leading Democratic contender in 2016 if she runs for president again.

As both Clinton and Bush weigh their options, the conference offers a bipartisan twist for the two dominant American political families of the late 20th century, both of whom could return to the presidential stage next year.

It is at least the third time in the past year that Bush and Clinton were crossing paths.

Both were on hand for the April 2013 Dallas presidential library dedication of former President George W. Bush, Jeb Bushs older brother. Mrs. Clinton sat on stage with her husband and four other living U.S. presidents attending the ceremony, including the Bush patriarch, former President George H.W. Bush.

In Philadelphia last September, Jeb Bush in his role as chairman of the National Constitution Center awarded Hillary Clinton the Liberty Medal, an event which allowed both to offer plenty of presidential-themed banter.

Bush said while he and the former first lady come from different political parties, and we disagree about a lot of things, they agreed on the wisdom of the American people, especially those in Iowa and New Hampshire and South Carolina, traditionally the first contests in the presidential primaries.

Tongue-in-cheek, Bush asked Clinton not to wear her medal in Des Moines, Iowa, the home base for many aspiring presidents competing in the states caucuses.

Hillary Clinton dodges 2016 questions onstage with Jimmy Kimmel

March. 23 (UPI) -- Despite widespread Democratic support for another presidential campaign from Hillary Clinton, the former secretary of state says she's still thinking about it.

Clinton, former President Bill Clinton and their daughter, Chelsea, sat down with Jimmy Kimmel Saturday for a panel discussion at a Clinton Global Initiative event in Tempe, Ariz., when a young woman asked Hillary if she would run.

"Ms. Clinton, if you don't represent women in politics in America as future president, then who will?"

"I am very much concerned about the direction of our country and it's not just who runs for office but what they do when they get there and how we work together and particularly empower young people," Clinton responded, before Kimmel pressed, "She wants an answer."

"Let me say this, give me your name and number," she told the woman.

I appreciate the sentiment. Im obviously thinking about all kinds of decisions," Clinton added.

After the event, Kimmel tweeted a Clinton-family photo in an attempt to rival Ellen DeGeneres' record-breaking Oscars selfie.

Hillary Clinton guilt-tripped about 2016 presidential bid

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has dodged some version of the question countless times before, but that didn't stop a young woman from asking - and laying on a guilt trip, to boot.

"Mrs. Clinton, if you don't represent women in politics in America as future president, who will?" she asked during a Saturday meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative University in Tempe, Ariz., according to the Wall Street Journal.

Talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel, who was presiding over the discussion, jumped in: "To add to that, when you do run for president will you use the old Clinton campaign lawn signs?"

Mrs. Clinton, who was joined onstage by her daughter Chelsea and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, didn't bite.

"Look, I am very much concerned about the direction of our country. And it's not just who runs for office, but what they do when they get there," she said. "I'm obviously thinking about all kinds of decisions."

Mrs. Clinton, also a former senator and first lady, has said she's considering another bid for the presidency, and that she'll make a decision one way or another later this year.

Kimmel also asked Mrs. Clinton, who is 66, whether she and Mr. Clinton will have another child.

"Well, no, but I wouldn't mind one of those grandchildren I hear so much about," she said.

Chelsea Clinton joked about her mom's "unapologetic pressure, in public and private."
