SACRAMENTO (CBS13) The brother of a paralyzed and wheelchair-bound rape victim says her recent sexual assault is just the latest in a series of tragedies.
Jesus Lee was at the Sacramento County Superior Courthouse to support his sister after a brutal attack on Power Inn Road.
Its very sad, he said. My sister has been a victim all her life.
Sheriffs deputies say Abraham Arroyo allegedly broke into her apartment and sexually assaulted her. Paralyzed from the waist down, Lees sister couldnt fight back.
The poor lady has been through everything this year, Lee said.
Arroyo was eventually caught, and Lee showed up to see the case continued on Tuesday for three weeks. Arroyo is being held without bail.
Lee says his sisters misfortunes began when she was paralyzed in a foster home at 2 years old.
As children, we were placed in foster homes. And the last foster home that we were at was very abusive, he said. A lady ended up breaking my sisters spine in that incident.
Adding to the pain is a recent divorce, and possibly losing her dog, because theres no room in her new home.
