26-06-2012 15:48 ? Primetime Massive ? What happens when Copenhagen's hottest up-and-coming MC decides to collaborate with one of Denmark's most legendary underground DJs? This is exactly what happened after a chance meeting between DJ Nico Defrost and MC Black Daniels at the Sound Waves beach rave in 2009. Throw in the stunning visuals of Brazillian filmmaker Lucas Magutti and you get Primetime Massive, one of the hottest performance collaborations ever to hit the rave scene. Now, Primetime Massive is bringing its one-of-a-kind dubstep/drum and bass sound to the UK. A week after their initial meeting, Nico invited Daniels to perform with him at his next club gig in Copenhagen. There was no turning back from there, as the unique blend of electronic music with a live MC made them decide that this was a project worth continuing. Soon, they were recording their own tracks and perforing live every weekend. They soon relocated to Ibiza to finish recording, all the while performing, and were invited onto Eva Pacifico's program for the renowned Ibiza Sonica Radio. Following their time in Ibiza, the duo decided it was time to show the world what they have been working on for the past year and are bringing Primetime Massive to the masses. ? Nico Defrost ? ‘The Inbetweeners’ US remake to feature ‘made up’ swear words

August 13, 2012 10:25

MTV remake will also contain storylines "tweaked" from the original British TV series

The US version of The Inbetweeners will feature "made up" swear words, the show's executive producers have revealed.

MTV's remake of the hit E4 sitcom - which relocates the action from Rudge Park Comprehensive to a typical American high school - premieres in the US on August 20. Last month (July), a trailer for the remake appeared on YouTube, prompting an angry response from fans of the original British TV show.

Commenting on YouTube, one fan predicted that the US remake will miss the distinctive British vocabulary from the original, writing: "It just doesn't translate....twat...knob....clunge....div....shag....bollocks...all staple phrases of English humour, almost completely absent from the American vocabulary, which, let's face it, made the characters who they were! Total shite!"

However, in an interview with Collider, executive producers Aaron Kaplan and Brad Copeland have insisted that the remake retains the show's trademark rudeness. Kaplan explained: "Well, America likes to be offended as well. Like anything else, it's a challenge. That's one of the things that Brad and I and MTV loved about the original. In spite of how offensive it could be, it was incredibly sweet. We made up a lot of original words that we can get past standards."

Copeland also revealed that the remake will feature a mix of completely new scripts and storylines based on the original British TV series. He explained: "With [our] first season, out of 12 episodes, six borrow skewed versions of their plots. We have plots that we really enjoyed from the series, that we wanted to put in, but we had to tweak them a little bit just to fit in with the American sensibility."

However, if the remake gets renewed for future seasons, Copeland predicted that it will become less reliant on the original. He added: "I think the six episodes that we did on our own this season worked really, really well. It definitely gave us a launchpad to now transition into our own story, and to take these universal themes and characters from the original British version and make it our own, somewhat like The Office did."

The original British version of The Inbetweeners, starring Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas, ran for three seasons as an E4 sitcom before spawning a spin-off film. In June, it was reported that the show's British creators are now producing an American teen film "inspired by" The Inbetweeners Movie.

5 Famous ‘New Kids In School’ Who ‘Inbetweener’ Will Can Learn From

Surviving high school can seem like a nearly impossible task to anyone, but if you're the new kid, you might as well scale Everest instead. Will Mackenzie certainly has his work cut out for him in MTV's new scripted comedy series, "The Inbetweeners," and if the trailer is any indication, his transition into an entirely different realm of student life could leave him scarred. Still, there's always hope--even in the darkest places--and since we (barely) made it through the experience ourselves (and are SO adult now), we've decided to give Will a hand.

As movies and TV love a good starting-from-scratch story, we racked our brains for tales of how former onscreen new kids navigated big moves, the great switch from public to private education or even exiling at the demands of a witch's council (the usual). Check out what Will could learn from five green prototypes, and make sure to offer your own tips if you've ever had to adjust to new places and faces.

Sabrina Spellman: On "Sabrina, The Teenage Witch," the quintessential girl next door discovered a magical family secret upon moving in with her two aunts (who happened to be witches). A new school and new powers spelled disaster for the spunky teen (oops, the school bully's now a pineapple!), but if Will can learn one thing from the smart mouth, it's that sticking to your guns--even when the world around you is changing--will lead you down the right path.

Tai Fraiser: Tai was an insecure pipsqueak when she first landed at Bronson Alcott High School, but the outcast of "Clueless" developed into the Queen Bee, ultimately betraying the person that first gave her popularity. What can Will learn from Tai (besides not to wear plaid-on-plaid)? Never bite the hand that feeds you.

Will Smith: Philadelphia's infamous class clown got a culture shock on "Fresh Prince" when he left his blue-collar Philadelphia neighborhood to live with his relatives in Bel Air. Amid caviar lunches and jacuzzi parties, though, Will always held on to his personal style, and served as a solid example that staying true your roots will help when you might feel lost.

Rory Gilmore: Rory remained in her hometown until college, but was nudged into private school by her mother on "Gilmore Girls" for a better shot at the Ivy League. Rory was smart by nature, but never had to play social politics until her first day at Chilton, and quickly learned the people who are ostensibly your enemies can turn out to be good pals.

Cady Heron: Having grown up in an African tribe, American public school was about as strange as it got for new kid Cady Stanton. She started off on the right foot in "Mean Girls" by joining the math team, but ultimately compromised her work ethic to get a guy's attention. It'd be hard to advise a high school dude to steer clear of girls, but...uhh...everything in moderation, Will.

US version of The Inbetweeners ‘stupid’

UK version of The Inbetweeners.

A NEW trailer for the US version of hit British comedy show The Inbetweeners - the pilot for which was directed by Taika Waititi - has been slammed by viewers.

As reported by NME.com, since being posted on YouTube three days ago, the trailer has had just 465 'likes' - and more than 26,000 'dislikes'.

The original version of the show - which follows the increasingly awkward antics of four teenage school friends - ran for three successful seasons in the UK and sparked a hit spin-off movie in 2011.

The creators of The Inbetweeners, Damon Beesley and Iain Morris, are executive producers on the US version, which begins screening on August 20. Taika Waititi directed the pilot, which was picked up by MTV for one season of 12 episodes.

But viewers of the show's first trailer have reacted angrily, venting their frustration online.

"This looks so stupid and unreal. The thing about the original was that it seemed real and natural as that's what school is actually like," said one commentator. "Totally ruined it. Fact."

"Same plots and even the same jokes yet it has gone from hilarious (UK) to absolute garbage (US).

"If people in the US want to watch The Inbetweeners, just broadcast the UK version not this crap," said another.

Digital Spy reported Morris took to Twitter to defend the show, and pointed out Waititi's successful track record.

As of this morning (July 19), the trailer has received just 295 "likes" on YouTube, compared to some 17,385 "dislikes". A torrent of abuse has been left underneath the video, with typical comments declaring the trailer "awful", "unbearable" and "shockingly shite".
