I am going to tell you how to steal your competitors twitter followers. The reason why you may want to steal your competitors following is because you have a targeted audience and maybe even a few people that are unhappy with there services. Here is how you can steal twitter followers.
Spy on your Competition
On Twitter you can find out who is tweeting about your competition by using the search feature. So the first thing I would do is perform a search on my competition. Lets say my competition is moz just for the sake of this article.
Now that we can see all of the people tweeting about them we can simply just dig through the results. We are going to be looking for people who have questions or upset people. Once you find someone with a question you should answer there question but do not pitch your products or services. This will build brand awareness and get you more customers latter on.
Lets take this this customer for example.
I would then just simply follow up with her. I would respond to her like this. Do you have specific tracking issues that you need help with ? I would love to help you out for free. So by tweeting and offering to help that customer for free can land you a new customer. This is just one of many that you can follow up with.
A Deeper Look At your Competition
Now we are going to use twitonomy to analyze them. All you need to do with this is just type in your competitors name and the tool will tell you everything you need to know about the company you are researching.
For example if I type in Moz I will get this information.
So from this chart here we can now see the users most mentioned, replied to and who is retweeting. This should give you a good idea of a few people you can contact. Just make sure that they are not working for the company it self. You can also see the type of content that their followers enjoy the most as Twitonomy lists their most retweeted and favorited tweets.
So now that we have analyzed all of there data we are all ready to steal there twitter followers.
The next thing you want to do is check there list. You will want to follow there most active users that they are engaging with. We can get a list of its users from Twitonomy. Once we have the list your going to want to make sure you monitor what those people are tweeting and provide a helping hand by answering their questions The next thing you want to look at all of the list that follow your competitor and engage with the people that created those list. Typically you will see a lots of list so your going to want to engage with there users that have the biggest list.
When I first started to steal followers all I did was just follow them. About 15% to 30% just followed me back. This tactic was effective for a little while but not in the long run.Although the steps above require a lot of work. They are a much more effective long term strategy of stealing your competitors followers
