Jersey City, New Jersey (PRWEB) April 11, 2014

On his weekly podcast for March 24, 2014, Jonathan Goodman provided an overview on how a business can create its own channel on YouTube. This site can be a valuable marketing tool for businesses if they know how to utilize it. Jonathan Goodman is the President of Halyard Consulting and professor at The School of Internet Marketing.

YouTube has over 1 billion unique visitors every month and thousands of channels are making a substantial income, some of them at six figures. Goodman explained how to set up a business channel on YouTube. He advised listeners to be careful on which email account they linked to the channel. He used his own channel as an example.

Goodman provided an overview of Video Manager and the criteria to become a YouTube Partner. While there are several factors, a business must upload quality content that is also advertiser-friendly and meets the terms of service.

"It's really about providing original unique content that is entertaining and informative." Jonathan Goodman

Goodman discussed Community and the settings that can be enabled or changed, depending on the business' needs and goals. He ended the podcast with some tips and advice for businesses considering using this medium. Like most other inbound marketing strategies, it takes some time to build a following and Goodman advised his followers not to give up if there is little initial success. It's important to continue creating content that has value for customers.

The School of Internet Marketing Instructor on How to Tell Your Clients They're Wrong

Jersey City, New Jersey (PRWEB) April 10, 2014

Goodman walked his listeners through the communication with H Michael Steinberg, a Colorado attorney. Mr. Steinberg was interested in how Goodman's Internet marketing company could help him with his website. When Goodman provided some suggestions backed by data and supported by his 20 years in the industry, Mr. Steinberg disagreed.

The conversation was on the client's multiple websites with exact match domains that Goodman recommended forwarding to the main website rather than continuing to operate them separately. Google is changing the way it looks at exact match domains and will move to excluding them from search results in the future. The changes that Google makes in its algorithms are designed to make search results more relevant and to prevent website owners from using unfair methods to gain website traffic.

"The whole reason for the podcast in the first place is to educate." Jonathan Goodman

Goodman explained that the reason he included this topic in his podcast was to help his audience understand more about the internet and how Google search is changing. He also showed listeners that even when you present valid and valuable information to potential customers, you may not win them over.
