The School of Internet Marketing Instructor Interviews Corey Post on Content Marketing

Jersey City, New Jersey (PRWEB) April 01, 2014

Jonathan Goodman, president of Halyard Consulting and professor at The School of Internet Marketing, interviewed Corey Post on his weekly podcast: The World of Internet Marketing. Corey Post is the founder and owner of Agile Leverage and has had a long Internet career starting with his early days with AOL in the 90s.

The topic for discussion in this interview was content marketing. Content has changed in recent years due to Google updates and other advances in technology. Post and Goodman talked about the difference between content marketing and search optimization. Post explained that content marketing is more focused on the audience and creating value for them while telling the brand's story.

"it becomes even more about content and creating a user experience for somebody. Where its providing value both for the customer and for the client as an agency through the content creation." Corey Post

Post explained that keywords have changed in purpose. They are now used to guide the intent of the content rather than meeting a level of density. User-generated content has become more important to businesses through product reviews, forums, chats, and even emails developing more prominence.

Post commented that contests are another way to enhance content marketing. They allow businesses to stand out from their competition and get people involved. Post provided guidance on how to create a successful contest; detailing everything from setting goals to announcing the winner. As the Internet and search continues to change, it is essential that businesses keep on top of those changes to stay ahead of the game.
