Deputies investigating BVL drive-by shooting

Police News Monday, 24 June 2013 14:16

Osceola County Sheriff's detectives need the public's help in identifying suspects involved in a shooting Sunday night in Buenaventura Lakes.

The investigation began at approximately 11:24 p.m. when deputies responded to a residence on San Blas Avenue and spoke with the victim, who indicated he was on the phone in front of his residence when a vehicle approached him and the occupants of the vehicle fired several shots at him. One shot injured his leg and he received minor medical treatment, spokesperson Twis Lizasuain said.

The victim described the vehicle as a black Jeep Cherokee with tinted windows and custom black rims. The victim said he did not know the suspects and could not see the driver, but the front seat passenger was wearing a red shirt and a hat.

Lizasuain stressed that this incident is, at this time, considered unrelated to a previously-reported incident of shots being fired at a Kissimmee Police Department car parked in front of a BVL residence Friday.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Osceola County Sheriff's Office at 407-348-2222 or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477). Calls made to Crimeline remain anonymous, and tips that lead to the felony arrest of suspects and/or the recovery of stolen property and drugs are eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000.
