It’s lights out for Kissimmee Saturday night to support Earth Hour

Daily News Updates Thursday, 21 March 2013 14:41 The City of Kissimmee is announcing will support Earth Hour 2013 Saturday night

On Saturday, March 23 at 8:30 p.m. local time, thousands of cities around the world will go dark for one hour during Earth Hour, WWFs (World Wildlife Fund) annual global campaign to raise awareness of the environmental challenges we all face.

Earth Hour started in Sydney, Australia, in 2007. This event saw 2.2 million homes and businesses turn their lights off for one hour to make their stand against climate change that year

WWF, which organizes the annual Earth Hour event, aims to stop the degradation of the earth's natural environment. It also focuses on building a future where people live in harmony with nature. The organization functions through a network of more than 90 offices in more than 40 countries worldwide.

The City of Kissimmee is turning off non-essential lights for Earth Hour and encourages businesses and residents to do the same.

Here’s today’s TV schedule for the NCAA Basketball Tournament, plus live links to watch online

President Obama (past president of the Harvard Law Review) did not pick Harvard (14 seed) to win over New Mexico (3 seed) last night in his bracket. Neither did I, but at least I didn't go to Harvard. That sound you heard late in the evening was the tearing up of many disgruntled NCAA Tournament player's bracket sheets of those who had New Mexico going to the Elite Eight and higher.

Maybe we can get some redemption today as the First Round of the NCAA Tournament continues. Today's tipoff is at noon, when highly-touted Duke takes on Albany on CBS.

The complete daily TV schedule is as follows. You also can watch live on your PC following the links below.

And Go Gators (scheduled tipoff 7:15) versus Northwestern State on TruTV (Will the game be interrupted with episodes of Hardcore Pawn and Lizard Lick Towing?)
