New Ebook Explains Essential Differences Between Drupal and Joomla!

Understanding the differences between Joomla! and Drupal is now easier than ever with the Aluent Group's ebook Drupal and Joomla! A Comparison of Project Processes and Costs. This in-depth resource compares the two platforms through common CMS project phases and is available for download at no cost at http://aluent.com/ebook.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 03, 2013

"We felt the community and our customers could benefit from this resource and better understand the differences between Drupal and Joomla," said Justin Kerr, the ebook's lead author and head of business development at Aluent Group. "Too many existing comparisons only touch on surface differences, or they don't speak from a position of practical expertise in both platforms," Kerr said.

Indeed, it is the Aluent Group's experience with multiple CMS and Web application platforms that helped inform the ebook's content and focus. "We're pretty unique in that we work with both Drupal and Joomla," said Aluent Group President Robert Nowak. "We've even conducted platform migrations from one CMS to another, in both directions!" Nowak worked on the ebook as a contributing author and editor alongside Aluent Group CTO Trinh Viet Anh (aka Jet Pixel).

Topics covered in Drupal and Joomla! A Comparison of Project Processes and Costs include CMS setup, content types and structures, Web design and layout, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), custom development, ongoing maintenance, and many other topics. "By breaking down the subject into project-focused phases, we hope to get around the problems of trying to make a top-down, apples-to-apples comparison," Kerr said. "The strategy and process of CMS site implementation differs fundamentally between Joomla and Drupal sites. Our ebook uses these comparisons of project phases to highlight the differences and hopefully inspire strong comprehension of how these systems work within real-world deployments."

Aluent Group also regularly explores Drupal versus Joomla topics through its blog articles (available at http://www.aluent.com/blog) and Chicago-area CMS users groups. "We presented at the January JoomlaChicago-Loop meeting," Kerr said, "and the video and slides are available on our blog. It looks like we'll also be presenting at a Drupal users group meeting this spring."

More information and new topics will be explored through upcoming blog posts and premium content, Kerr said. "This ebook is the first of our planned premium content offerings, all of which are designed to help support and inform our clients and the community."
