Bill Maher: Liberals, We Lost Because We’re Offended All The Time And We Act Like Emasculated Husbands – Townhall

Comedian Bill Maher is no conservative, but a broken clock is right twice a day. Maher has veered off the liberal path on Islamic extremism, admitted that his side doesnt know anything about firearms regarding Second Amendment issues, and unapologetically points out the false equivalence between Christian and Islamic-inspired terror attacks.

With the 2016 election over and President Donald J. Trump now in the White House, Maher has some advice for how liberals can win: stop being politically correct. Granted, I hope liberals continue with their insufferable ethos of trigger warnings and safe spaces, so we can undo the damage done by theObama presidencybut I think we can all agree that the authoritarian agenda of political correctness is a cancer on the nation.

[Editor's Note: some strong language]

Maher went into his usual New Rules segment on his HBO show Real Time, where he ripped his side for getting angry at things that dont matter, specifically voicing outrage on behalf of people who themselves are not offended.

You know that whole controversy about the name Washington Redskins; they did a survey nine out of ten actual Indians dont give a shit, said Maher. The HBO host named instances, where the PC police called out Chris Hemsworth, Justin Timberlake, Steve Martin, and Hillary Duff for being culturally insensitive, calling the late Carrie Fisher beautiful and witty, or wearing a Halloween costume deemed racist. The Carrie Fisher incident is not a joke. Steve Martin said that when he first saw Fisher, he thought she was beautiful and turned out to be witty and bright as well. He was forced to take that down during the international shock of the Star Wars stars death because apparently looks arent everything. Duff and Hemsworth were caught wearing Indian costumes at Halloween parties.

Justin Timberlake faced torches and pitchforks for tweeting words of support for actor Jesse Williams BET speech. Williams had won the 2016 Humanitarian Award spoke about cultural appropriation, which Timberlake responded that he was inspired via Twitter. He got raked over the coals for no reason. And thats the point Maher is making. None of these things matter.

What matters is that while you self-involved fools were busy policing the language at the Kids Choice Awards, a madman talked his way into the White House, he said.

Of course, I dont agree with the latter part, but as Maher closed his segment, he noted that while liberals were complaining about nonsense, the Tea Party was taking over school boards. Stop protecting your virgin ears and start noticing youre getting f*cked in the ass!

He also said that the public was with the Democrats on the environment, raising the minimum wage, sensible gun laws (thats debatable), path to citizenship, andabortion rights. Why dont they win?

Well, there are many. One is that they apologize too much, which is true, as noted from the examples above. The second is that Democrats remind people of a man who has taken his balls out and placed them in his wifes purse.

As for cultural appropriation, Maher took that to the woodshed as well since its inherently anti-American.

Thats the idea that white people shouldnt adopt things from other ethnic groups, how dare you mix and match cultures to produce something new; where do you think you are some kind of melting pot? he said.

The point is that Maher is against political correctness, where we can find common ground, and he says that this mindset is what keeps liberals from conducting effective outreachwhich is true. Working class voters felt that the Democrats cared more about transgender bathrooms than job creation, hence they broke for Trump. These are the very people Democrats need to reconnect with if they want to win again. Yet, unlike Trump, Mahers reach isnt that extensive. Im pretty sure most progressives will scoff and be offended. Maher says he was offensive, and baited his fellow liberals to come after him so he can tell them to go f**k themselves.

Even on the left, it seems the road out of the wilderness rests with those who are not politicians.

Liberals want US to admit all the refugees and pray we don’t get blown up – Fox News

The mainstream media, liberals and Hollywood are pitching a super-sized hissy fit over President Trumps decision to protect the fruited plain from blood-thirsty jihadists.

They seem to think we are under some sort of moral obligation to allow refugees to flood into the country without vetting and pray that nobody gets blown up. I write about this very issue in my new book, The Deplorables Guide to Making America Great Again.

I watched in utter amazement this weekend as hordes of agitators swarmed airports across the country causing all sorts of mayhem.

CNN called the protests spontaneous which is quite remarkable considering a number of protesters were waving professionally-made banners and posters.

Muslims at DFW International Airport turned a baggage claim area into a makeshift mosque kneeling on prayer rugs and chanting, Allah.

And there was nary a peep from TSA or airport officials.

But heaven help the poor fellow who tries to go through a TSA check point with a bottle of Head & Shoulders in his carry-on luggage.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo lashed out at the president saying New Yorkers have no tolerance for intolerance.

New York City Mayor and Communist sympathizer Bill de Blasio said the ban was chilling to anyone in America who cares about religious liberty.

These are the same guys who tried to shut down a Chick-fil-A franchise and told gun-toting, Bible-clingers they were not welcome in the Empire State.

So spare us your righteous indignation.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel said he plans on hosting illegal aliens in his home and urged citizens to do the same.

Thats a mighty thoughtful gesture, but it might be safer for the refugees to eat a slice of deep dish pizza in Syria rather than the Windy Citys South Side.

The mainstream media feared the president was going overboard to protect Christians from radical Islamists, Newsbusters reported.

CNNs Carol Costello, seemed genuinely troubled that his underlying goal was to make this country aggressively Christian.

Failed talk show host Piers Morgan addressed the issue in a bizarre column titled, More Americans were killed last year by toddlers with guns than by Muslim terrorists, Mr. President where is the executive order to stop THAT?

This executive order is not making America great, Morgan wrote in the Daily Mail. Its making America hate.

Mr. Morgan is British.

It is grotesquely unfair because it punishes many decent, law-abiding people who have every right to be in the country, he added.

Piers Morgan is the poster child for extreme vetting.

Hollywood is even worse marginalizing Christianity while embracing Islam.

The people who play make believe for a living went out of their way to denounce President Trump during the Screen Actors Guild awards Sunday.

We have to speak up, actress Emma Stone said. Staying silent only helps the oppressor, not the victim. Right now I hope that people seeing things that are being done that are unconstitutional and inhumane would say something.

Here's a thought -- next year -- hold the SAG awards in downtown Tehran. I hear the Ayatollahs are big Rosie O'Donnell fans.

The Liberal Party is distancing itself from protesters who stormed one of its party meeting dressed as the Ku Klux Klan.

Deputy Premier Jonh Barliaro's 15-month-old daughter rolls on the ground during the swearing in of their new minister by the Governor of NSW, David Hurley.

First on that list was dumped former minister for multiculturalism and disability servicesJohn Ajaka, who was described as President of the Legislative Council (elect).

The announcement followed the appointment of current upper house President, Don Harwin a leader of MsBerejiklian'sleft faction who was instrumental in securing her election as leader as Minister for Energy and Utilities and the Arts.

However, the president who receivesa salary of $287,515, the same as a junior minister must be elected by the entire Legislative Council. A vote of Liberal upper house members to decide their nomination will be held during a party room meeting scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

Ms Berejiklian's announcement pre-empted both votes.

A senior Liberal source said the decision was "a slap in the face from the executive to the house" and was part of a broader factional deal involving the final shape of Ms Berejiklian's cabinet and the North Shore by-election.

"The party won't oppose the choice of president because [Ms Berejiklian] has made it clear and they don't want to undermine her authority, which is already threadbare," the source said.

"But Idon't think the house will look kindly on it".

Another Liberal source confirmed there was widespread disquiet within the Liberal upper house party room over the circumstancesof Mr Ajaka's pending appointment because the usual processes had been pre-empted.

The senior Liberal source said Ms Berejiklian had needed to "lock in" Mr Ajaka as presidentas part of a deal between the left and centre right factions to ensure the centre right's Ray Williams was the 23rd cabinet spot.

Mr Williams replacedMr Ajakain the multiculturalism and disability services portfolios.

The source also alleged the deal extended to the centre right supporting the left's favoured candidate for the North Shore byelection likely to be Felicity Wilsonover the right's candidate, potentially Tim James.

However, a centre right source said "there was no deal".

Asked why she pre-empted the votes of the party room and the upper house with her announcement and if it was part of a factional deal, Ms Berejiklian said: "John Ajaka will make an excellent President of the Legislative Council."

Ms Berejiklian has repeatedly denied Liberal party factional chiefs have had any part in shaping her first cabinet, insisting all appointments have been made purely on merit.

Mr Ajaka declined to comment.
