Algiers Algeria and Italy remain convinced that the resolution of the conflict in Libya requires strengthening national reconciliation and encouraging the participation of all parties to reach a political solution, Algerian and Italian Foreign Ministers, respectively Ramtane Lamamra and Paolo Gentiloni, stressed Monday in Algiers.
At a joint press conference with his Italian counterpart, Lamamra stressed that "a large part of the meeting" between the two parties was devoted to the Libyan issue as Algeria and Italy "fully agree" on the need to promote "peaceful" and "consensual" solution.

For his part, the Italian Foreign Minister affirmed his country and Algeria "are convinced that there is no solution in dividing the country (Libya), no military solution, but it is necessary to encourage a process of reconciliation between the various parties."
