FALSE: These images featuring former US President Obama are unrelated to Jeffery Epstein’s court – PesaCheck

One image is of a child raped and murdered in Indonesia in October 2015, and the other is of Obama with his niece at the White House in December 2015. 5 min read

This Facebook post purporting to show images of a child allegedly sexually assaulted by former United States President Barack Obama is FALSE.

The post claims the images were released in documents naming those associated with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The post reads: Photos of former US President Obama, one of those named in Epsteins paedophilia and prostitution documents released the other day, raping a little girl have been leaked. The dossier also contains photographs of the same child being taken out of a cardboard box after she had been kidnapped and sold as a sex slave, and then, most likely, tortured and killed.

One image is of a childs body stuffed in a box, tied up with duct tape. The other image is of Obama snuggling a young girl.

On 3 January 2024, court documents naming wealthy financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epsteins associates began being unsealed. Obama is not among those named in the newly released court documents. Epstein died by suicide in 2019 following his arrest on federal child sex trafficking charges.

A reverse search on Google Lens established that the first image is of a child who was defiled and murdered in Jakarta, Indonesia, in October 2015.

The image was featured in a 3 October 2015-dated article by The Jarkata Observer with a headline in Indonesian translating to; The discovery of a girls body in a cardboard box shocked Kamal residents.

According to the Jakarta Globe, the police in Jakarta identified the child as 9-year-old Putri Nur Fauziyah.

The lifeless body of Putri Nur Fauziyah, who was raped before she was murdered, was found inside an empty cardboard box in the Kalideres area last week and police have since collected DNA samples from relatives and neighbors, the report reads.

The incident was also reported by other media outlets.

A Google reverse image search established that the second image is of Obama and his niece.

The image, taken on 4 December 2015, was uploaded on Flickr on 8 January 2016 with the caption, The President snuggles with his niece Savita Ng after his sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, and her family dropped by the Oval Office.

The image is attributed to Pete Souza, former chief official White House photographer and director of the White House photo office for the Obama administration.

Souza published the photo on his personal blog on 30 December 2015 with the same caption.

The photograph is also available on Wikimedia Commons within the same context.

PesaCheck has looked into a Facebook post purportedly showing images of a child allegedly sexually assaulted by former US President Barack Obama, released in court documents naming those associated with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and finds it to be FALSE.

Couple Jokingly Sends Wedding Invite to Michelle & Barack Obama And They Respond! (Exclusive) – PEOPLE

While gearing up for her September wedding to wife Jean Woodrum last year, Bree Woodrum had several wedding invitations left over, so she decided to shoot her shot and send the invites to some of her favorite famous people, including former President Barack Obama.

"The Obamas were first on my list because he legalized gay marriage which allowed us to get married as a same-sex couple," Bree tells PEOPLE exclusively. "Ive just always loved the Obamas in general because theyre just a powerhouse couple. He was also the first president I got to see and remember getting inaugurated, so hes special to me."

But Bree also says she always planned to send out leftover invites to celebs, including Drew Barrymore.

"I knew I wanted to send out invitations to some celebrities and famous TikTokers I love just in case any of them might actually reply," she explains. "I have seen others online in the past show responses or gifts they received from celebrities they invited to graduations, baby showers and weddings, and just thought, why not?"

Several months after the invites were sent, the Richmond, VA. resident got the surprise of a lifetime when Barack and former First Lady Michelle Obama responded.

In a video posted to TikTok, Bree can be seen freaking out after she received a letter of response from the Obamas.

"So I went to check the mail today and I open up the mail and this what was inside the mailbox!" she said in the video. Bree then goes on to show a yellow envelope featuring Barack's official presidential stamp and his signature on it to the camera.

At the time the initial video was shot, Bree's wife, Jean, was still at work, so Bree was forced to contain her excitement and refrain from opening the letter until her significant other got home.

"I'm freaking out," Bree exclaimed. "My wife isn't even at home. She's at work. I work from home and I have to wait like three more hours until I can share this news with her!"

Still that didn't stop her from sharing the exciting moment with her other loved ones. While she waited for Jean to get home, Bree told her mom and her best friend about the extra-special piece of mail.

In a follow-up video, Bree and Jean finally sat down and opened the letter to discover that it was signed by both Barack and Michelle.

"Congratulations on your wedding," the letter began. "We hope that your marriage is blessed with love, laughter and happiness and that your bond grows stronger with each passing year. This occasion marks the beginning of a lifelong partnership and as you embark on this journey, know you have our very best for the many joys and adventures that lie ahead."

And though the Woodrums initially thought the Obamas simply sent the letter through their office, a second look showed their signatures were handwritten, meaning even if the couple didn't write the entire letter themselves, they still had their hands on it.

To date, Bree's video has amassed 2.7 million views, over 417,000 likes with over 3,000 comments and counting.

"It was crazy last night just refreshing every second with hundreds of more likes and comments on my video," Bree tells PEOPLE.

"I love reading the comments and seeing all the sweet messages about our marriage. My favorite ones are [things like] 'You need to drive to your wifes job right now, we cant wait any longer to see whats inside the letter.' And others that keep saying Barack Obama and I are best friends now," she continued.

"Its all just hilarious and sweet at the same time. Im honored."

Malia Obama Makes Her Red Carpet Debut at Sundance Film Festival – Harper’s BAZAAR

First daughter turned filmmaker

The elder child of former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama jumped into the world of show business upon graduating from Harvard University in 2022, and is now a writer and director with two major projects under her belt.

Malia Obama made her red carpet debut at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, on Thursday night, for the premiere of her short film The Heart. For the grand occasion, the 25-year-old looked cozy and casual in a light blue striped button-down, long gray wool coat, fuzzy gray scarf, and platform leather over-the-knee boots in a deep maroon. She wore her curly hair down, with small braids scattered throughout, and seemed to have on minimal makeup.

The Heart is Obamas first film, developed with mentor Donald Glovers production company, Gilga. She and the Atlanta creator and star also worked together on the 2023 Prime Video miniseries Swarm, a dark satire starring Dominique Fishback, Chloe Bailey, Damson Idris, Billie Eilish, Rory Culkin, and Paris Jackson.

The first thing we did was talk about the fact that she will only get to do this once, former Community star Glover, who releases music as Childish Gambino, told GQ last year. Youre [Barack] Obamas daughter. So if you make a bad film, it will follow you around.

Glover also said in a 2022 interview with Vanity Fair that the former first daughter is very down to earth, and cool, so working with her is always a positive experience.

A fresh talent, Obama also cowrote Swarms fifth episode, Girl, Bye, with seasoned pro and series co-creator Janine Nabers. (She is credited as simply Malia Ann.)

Some of her pitches were wild as hell, and they were just so good and so funny, Nabers told Entertainment Tonight last year. Shes an incredible writer. She brought a lot to the table Shes really, really dedicated to her craft.

I feel like shes just somebody whos gonna have really good things coming soon, Glover told Vanity Fair. Her writing style is great.

Forever First Lady Michelle Obama Is Directing Half A Million In Funds To Support Chicago Communities – Essence

When Kelly Fair started the Polished Pebbles Girls Mentoring Program in 2009, it was to give young women and girls from the city of Chicago the opportunity to see whats possible when someone believes in you and invests in your future.

Now, 15 years and over 5000 girls served later; she says she can show the girls in her life skills and career readiness-focused organization that when you show up and stay consistent, being recognized and working with greats like Former First Lady Michelle Obama can be the norm.

On Tuesday, Polished Pebbles Girls Mentoring Program was one of 14 Chicago-based girls-serving organizations named by the Obama Foundations Girls Opportunity Alliance, founded by Mrs. Obama, to receive $500K in funding. The selected Chicago-based organizations support girls lives in various ways, including through mentorship and leadership development, sports and dance programs, and work-study programs.

For Michelle Obama to make such a commitment to us, it says that Im invested in our girls here in Chicago; therefore, Im also invested in the leaders of the organizations and the growth of the organizations. Thats powerful. Fair shared with ESSENCE.

Now, were normalizing for our girls that when you participate in programs like this, you build sisterhood, you build skills, you get opportunities to build a future, and now youre rubbing shoulders with a reflection of who you really are. It cant get any better than seeing a reflection of you through the former First Lady Michelle Obama, she added.

The Girls Opportunity Alliance Fund will support Polished Pebbles Every Girl is a CEO (EGCEO) Summer Work-Study program with $50,000 in funding. EGCEO is a six-week professional development program that combines workshops and hands-on training to prepare girls for success in the workplace. The program has employed over 400 girls to date.

Overall, about 1,800 adolescent girls in Chicago will benefit from the funds given to these local organizations, most of which were founded by Black women and aim to empower them.

With a vision laid out by Mrs. Obama, the Girls Opportunity Alliance will support programs that will reach girls in the South and West Sides of Chicago particularly in Woodlawn, South Shore, and Washington Park, which are neighborhoods surrounding the future home of the Obama Presidential Center.

Chicago is the place that made me who I am. Its the place that shaped me, developed my self-confidence, and helped me discover my voice. Theres an energy to this city thats like no other an energy that lifts, inspires and nurtures, said Mrs. Obama in a video announcing the big news and major investment in grassroots organizations from her hometown.

Thats why I couldnt be more thrilled to share that the Girls Opportunity Alliance is expanding our work right here in my favorite city, Mrs. Obama continued.

In addition to funding, these organizations and their leaders will receive programming support,Obama Foundation programming, and in-person convening featuring Mrs. Obama and former President Obama.

Its been life-changing and I would say one thing I am really proud of is that they [The Obama Foundation} started a network to bring together leaders, leaders that are supporting girls across the city, which is meaningful, said Shatina M. Edwards, founder of Manage-Emotions-Avoid-Negativity Girls Empowerment, or M.E.A.N.

The Girls Opportunity Alliance has done a great job of amplifying that the girls we serve here in Chicago matter. They have dreams, their dreams matter, their hopes matter.

The organization aims to prevent bullying and empower young ladies to avoid negativity, build self-confidence, and pursue their goals. The Girls Opportunity Alliance Fund will support the organizations Girls Health Matters Initiative with $50,000 in funding. Edwards says thefunds will be used to repurpose a transit van that will be used as a mobile health clinic for community outreach. They will offer health assessments, health boxes, nutrition, mental health, and reproductive health workshops.

Our goal is to distribute over 700 health boxes to girls within our community this year. So, we will host pop-up assemblies at different schools throughout Chicago. And we will also host events at local community centers and churches. We have several girls that travel more than 30 miles to attend our programs, so this mobile resource van will allow us to take our programs and events to their communities, which is so big, Edwards shared. It is a game changer.

The Girls Opportunity Alliance has helped to provide that connective tissue to bring us together, Edwards added.

Kelly Fair agrees, noting that not only has the alliance helped amplify their work, but it has filled in the gaps that can sometimes exist for promising girls from often underserved communities.

Before we can get to talking about helping these girls become a part of the change makers that close all these other gaps, we gotta close the hope gap because theyve got dreams, but if theyre uninvested in and nobodys paying attention to them, our girls become quite hopeless, she said. The Girls Opportunity Alliance has done a great job of amplifying that the girls we serve here in Chicago matter. They have dreams, their dreams matter, their hopes matter.

Barack Obama Welcomes Michelle to a New Decade with Sweet Birthday Tribute: ‘This Is What 60 Looks Like’ – PEOPLE

Its Michelle Obamas 60th birthday and Barack Obama is showering her with love!

To celebrate her milestone day, the former president, 62, shared a photo of his wife smiling and glowing in the sun, backdropped by the ocean.

This is what 60 looks like, Barack wrote alongside the picture. Happy birthday to my better half who happens to be one of the funniest, smartest, most beautiful people I know. @MichelleObama, you make every day better.

The A Promised Land author finished his post on a hopeful note, adding, I cant wait to see what this new decade brings you.

Last year, Barack and Michelle who established residency in Washington, D.C., after leaving the White House in 2017 celebrated 31 years of marriage.

In honor of their October wedding anniversary, the former first lady shared a snapshot of the couple smiling cheek-to-cheek in front of a golden sunset. "31 years, and a lifetime to go. I love going through life with you by my side, @BarackObama," she wrote alongside the photo. "Happy anniversary, honey!"

Barack also shared a photo of the couple, which he captioned with a loving message for Michelle. "Happy anniversary, sweetheart! he wrote. @MichelleObama, you're brilliant, kind, funny and beautiful and I'm lucky to call you mine.

The Obamas first crossed paths in Chicago when Michelle was assigned to mentor Barack during his summer internship at a law firm. They dated for three years before tying the knot in 1992, and now share two daughters, Sasha, 22, and Malia, 24.

In The Light We Carry, published in November 2022, Michelle got candid about their decades-long relationship, admitting that the couple has had their ups and downs but remain committed to their marriage.

"People often reach out to me seeking relationship advice," she wrote. "They remark on photographs they've seen of me and Barack together laughing, or sharing a look, appearing content to be side by side. They ask how we have managed to stay both married and unmiserable for 30 years now. I want to say, 'Yes, truly, it's a surprise to us, too, sometimes!' And really, I'm not joking."

"We have our issues, of course, but I love the man, and he loves me now, still and seemingly forever," she continued. "Our love is not perfect, but it's real and we're committed to it."

Last May, Barack addressed Michelles comments in an interview with CBS Mornings.

"Michelle when our girls were growing up, that was priority number one, two, three and four," he explained at the time. "And so, I did not fully appreciate, I think, as engaged of a father as I was, the degree of stress and tension for her, knowing that not just me and Michelle were under scrutiny and in this strange environment, but that we were raising our daughters in a kind of situation that just wasn't normal."

Once his presidency came to an end and they had more time and space to connect as a couple, their marriage improved tremendously, he shared.

"Let me just say this: it sure helps to be out of the White House, he said at the time. And to have a little more time with her.
