President Obamas visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live is causinga host of road closures inLos Angeleson Thursday.
Los Angeles police will help close roads in and around Hollywood starting at 3 p.m. for the presidents first visit to the show since his first White House campaign in 2008.
Sepulveda Boulevard between Lincoln and Century boulevardswill be closed from 3 to 5 p.m. and North Hollywood Way near Bob Hope Airport will be closed sometime between 3:30 and 5 p.m.
Starting at 4 p.m., drivers should avoid Highland Avenue between the Hollywood Bowl and Sunset Boulevard as well as Ocean Avenue and San Vicente Boulevardin Santa Monica.
Authorities also plan to close San Fernando Boulevard, Cohasset Street and Thorton, Burton and Tulare avenues between 4 and 5:30 p.m.
Also in Santa Monica, 19th and 20th streets between Marguerita and Carlyle avenues will be closed until 7:30 p.m.
About 1-1/2 southbound lanes on Avenue of the Stars after Galaxy Way will also be closed to traffic.
As part of his visit on Thursday, Obama also will attenda roundtable discussionhosted by ICM Partnersco-founder Chris Silbermann and his wife, Julia Franz. Attendance costs $33,400 per couple.
Proceedsfrom the event will fund election operations for the Democratic National Committee.
In February, Obamawas inSan Francisco for a DNC fundraiser and played golf with friends in Palm Springs.
