15 political parties sponsored by PDP APC

National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Lai Mohammed

The All Progressives Congress says the 15 political parties and five presidential candidates that threatened to pull out of the March 28 and April 11 elections if the Independent National Electoral Commission insists on using card readers are sponsored by the Peoples Democratic Party.

This is just as over 10 political parties have endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan as their presidential candidate.

The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said in a statement on Thursday that the 15 political parties were echoing everything the PDP demanded, including the deployment of soldiers for elections.

He said the PDPs opposition to the use of card readers for the elections had shown the accuracy of the APCs accusations that the ruling party was doing all in its powers to either prevent the election from holding or to rig it.

He said it was curious that after the APC had exposed the PDPs plan at a press conference, the 15 political parties came out to push a PDP agenda.

He said, In an apparently-choreographed show, some 15 portfolio political parties called a press conference to also announce that they will oppose the use of the card reader, vowing to boycott the elections and use a legal process to prevent the use of the machine.

These syndicated threats are the latest indications of the mortal fear in the corridors of power about the machine that has now become the nemesis of election riggers and manipulators worldwide.

The APC spokesman said using Temporary Voter Cards instead of the Permanent Voter Cards would make the voting process porous.

He said it would also amount to a waste of funds as billions of naira had been spent on card readers and the PVCs.

APC candidate promises annual N5bn for Lagos divisions

Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Lagos State in the 2015 general elections, Akinwunmi Ambode, says each of the five divisions of the state will get N1bn annually for youth empowerment, if he is elected into office.

He said every Lagosian, including residents of Ibeju Lekki, should plan for a bright future by voting only the APC candidates.

He added that the APC was the only party that could guide them to a better future.

Ambode spoke during the rally of the party in the Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area of the state, adding that the youth empowerment funds would be drawn from a trust that would be established.

He said, The N1bn for each of the five divisions will be drawn from a youth employment trust fund that will be established by our government to help the youth start their own businesses, thereby becoming employers of labour.

He also assured the residents that he would establish a credit scheme, from which beneficiaries would have access to between N100, 000 and N5m with zero interest.

He said, When you look at the American dollar, you dont see any religion or tribe written on it. The market doesnt have a tribe or a race, so dont let them deceive you. Asking you to vote for them based on religion or tribe is deceitful, which they are known for. Vote for us to secure your future; APC is the only party that can guarantee that.

You see what they have turned the economy into. If we dont rescue this nation, it will go bankrupt. Naira will continue to slide against the dollar. Let us not allow the people who cant manage the economy well; let us rise up and secure the future.

The APC candidate also assured the people of the Ibeju Lekki area that if voted into office, he would complete all major projects in the area, including the Lekki-Epe processing zone and the deep sea port to ease the pressure of heavy duty vehicles on the roads.
