Fuel queues confirm Jonathans deceit -APC campaign

The Presidential Campaign of the All Progressives Congress on Sunday said the return of fuel queues at filling stations in Abuja and other parts of Nigeria is a confirmation that the policies of the Jonathan administration are founded on deceit and insincerity.

According to the APC campaign, it was now evident that the recent fuel price reductions announced by the Federal Government was borne out of political expediency, rather than compassion, because the ruling party is desperate to cling to power at all costs.

The APC campaign also condemned the gross reduction in the hours of electricity supply across the country by electricity providers describing it as sad reminders of the failure of the PDP Federal Government.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Director of Media and Publicity of the APC campaign, Malam Garba Shehu, in Abuja.

The APC wondered how a political party which has been in power for 16 years and which is unable to ensure regular fuel supply being an oil producing country and having privatised the power sector and given generous financial assistance to operators of the sector, can still feel confident to seek another term in office.

Shehu said that the glaring and inexcusable failure of the PDP government in these two important areas is a sign of gross ineptitude, maladministration and corruption which is responsible for the sorry economic state the average citizen of Nigeria has found themselves.

According to him, for the people of Nigeria to be again confronted with the specter of fuel scarcity so soon after the harrowing experience of last Christmas period shows that the Jonathan government can never get anything right as Nigeria will continue to be an embarrassment among the oil producing countries of the world.

The statement partly read: The issue is that being unable to set up even one new refinery in the past five years and unable to get existing refineries to function up to 50 per cent capacity, the people of Nigeria surely need another set of people to be in charge of affairs.

Those who man the two critical sectors of fuel and power are cronies of President Jonathan and supporters of the PDP that they have no reason to discharge their mandate in favour of the Nigerian people.

We all remember the hype and fanfare with which the privatisation of the power sector was carried out and yet majority of Nigerians are having less electric power or none at all but are forced to pay outrageous electricity bills to the operators of the power companies who are either card-carrying members of the PDP or are close associates of President Jonathan.

Nigeria: Buhari At Chatham House – APC Slams Paranoid PDP, Presidency

press release

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned, in the strongest possible terms, the needless resort to sheer hysteria by the PDP and the Jonathan Administration over the globally-acclaimed appearance of the APC's Presidential Candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, at the Chatham House in London on Thursday.

In a statement issued in London on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said even when it was so apparent that the PDP and the Jonathan Administration were so stunned and stung by Gen. Buhari's well-accepted presentation, they could have saved themselves from further disgrace by simply keeping quiet, instead of exposing their inanities.

"For the spokesmen of the PDP and the Jonathan Campaign organizations to have rushed to the press to denounce what was a patriotic presentation by a high-regarded Nigerian is not only absurd but a new low, even for those who have lost every sense of propriety in their public actions and pronouncements," it said.

APC said the level of paranoia of the PDP and the Jonathan Administration was so high, even before the General's presentation, that they went to hire some poor folks to protest at the Chatham House over an issue they knew nothing about.

The party said it was just as well that the rent-a-crowd show boomeranged on the PDP/Jonathan Administration, when those among the scanty protesters who were interviewed said they did not even know why they have come there, with some of them hiding behind their placards of shame!

"The fact that the Jonathan Administration wasted public funds in hiring people to protest against Gen. Buhari's appearance is another indication of how the commonwealth has been consistently frittered away under the clueless and incompetent Jonathan Administration," it said, wondering who appropriated the funds that were wasted on the uninformed and disinterested band of protesters.

APC also described as the worst case of double standard for the loudmouths of the PDP and the Jonathan Administration to question the basis for Gen. Buhari's appearance at the Chatham House, when the same platform was used a few weeks back by the Administration, which sent National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki there to push for the postponement of the 2015 general elections.

"So it is OK for Dasuki to speak at the Chatham House, one of the most important platforms for any statesman, but forbidden for the APC Presidential Candidate to use the same platform? The needless vituperation of the PDP and the Jonathan megaphones against our candidate is precisely the reason the sinking ruling party and the failed Administration it sired have become the butt of jokes around the world.

"Instead of apologizing for seeking to pull the wool over the eyes of Nigerians by saying that Gen. Buhari went to London for medical treatment, these band of poor propagandists persisted in dancing naked in the public square. What a pity?" the party said.

Jonathan plans to freeze Tinubu, Amaechis account APC

Tinubu; Amaechi

The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council on Saturday condemned an alleged plot by the President Goodluck Jonathan-led Peoples Democratic Party to cripple the campaign of the partys presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd).

This was contained in a statement signed by the Director Media and Publicity of the APC Presidential campaign, Mr. Garba Shehu, in Abuja.

He said the APC Presidential campaign condemned the plot by the Jonathan-led ruling Peoples Democratic Party to clip the electoral success wings of the opposition APC, through a proposed grounding of aircraft and freezing of bank accounts belonging to stalwarts of the party.

According to him, the plot to destabilise the APC and cripple its flag-bearer, General Muhammadu Buhari, may be linked to the global attention on its candidates performance at the United kingdoms Chatham House last Thursday.

The statement partly read: The hint we gather from sources is that the government, through its agents, is plotting to ground aircraft and freeze bank accounts of APC stakeholders. But history has shown that the forces of evil can never succeed against the zeal of men and women of virtue and good deeds.

Shehu said information at APCs disposal had uncovered the plot by the Jonathan administration to use the Aviation Ministry and the security service to hound and clampdown members of the APC, by prospecting obnoxious means to halt and slow down Buharis popularity.

There is also a plot to block or freeze the bank accounts of APC chieftains like Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Rotimi Amaechi (Director General of APC Presidential Campaign Organisation), and other prominent leaders believed to be funding the Generals campaign; and availing him their aircrafts for electioneering purposes, Shehu said.

The APC Presidential campaign spokesperson recalled that private jets conveying APC Governors, Amaechi of Rivers State and Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, were either prevented from taking-off or landing during crucial political occasions, particularly during the Ekiti State gubernatorial elections that saw PDPs Ayodele Fayose defeating Dr Kayode Fayemi, in a most controversial military-assisted contest now known as Ekiti-gate Tape.

When contacted, the deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr. Abdullahi Jalo said, he was not aware of any such plan and challenged the APC to produce evidence if it had any.

PDPs oath-taking allegation against Tinubu outlandish, reactionary APC

The All Progressives Congress has said the sickening and outlandish claim by the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation that the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, plans to become Vice President through the back door is designed to divert attention from the success of the partys presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), at the Chatham House in London on Thursday.

In a statement in London on Saturday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the PDP and the Jonathan Administration still did not have any answer to what the APC described as an epochal moment that has separated the wheat from the chaff.

The APC said, Our presidential candidates globally-acclaimed outing has presented Nigerians, and indeed the global community, with a choice between a bumbling, ineffective, incoherent, clueless, visionless and incompetent President and an assertive, knowledgeable, dignified, purposeful and principled President-in-waiting.

Having failed to discredit the (United Kingdom) outing with a rented crowd, some of whom confessed to have been paid to carry placards they did not even understand, the PDP and the Jonathan Administration have now resorted to making nauseating claims that are totally untrue, absolutely incomprehensible and nothing but sheer bunkum.

APC described the claim as the latest in a series of desperate moves by the PDP and the Jonathan Administration since the emergence of Buhari as the APC presidential candidate, and the clearest indication yet that they have no answer to the unstoppable momentum of a man of history.

It added, They have thrown everything imaginable at Gen. Buhari, but he has continued to wax stronger and stronger: They said he was not qualified, that he was too old, then they fabricated a medical report of an illness of their own choice, sponsored death wish adverts against him and instituted a myriad of court cases to stop him.

After they failed to stop him, they went after the election itself, using the PVCs as a tool to launch a campaign for postponement and, when they realised that would not work, came up with the bogey of insecurity in the North-East to force a postponement of the election, hoping they can buy enough time to revive their electoral misfortune.

With everything working against them, they engaged in a show of shame at The Chatham House that backfired badly, on the heels of their bare-faced lies that Gen. Buhari was hospitalised in London. The preposterous claim of a secret oath reminiscent of what they do in their own party by the apparently ailing spokesman for the Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Femi Fani-Kayode, is their latest desperate act.

APC said in as much as it had so far refrained from engaging Fani-Kayode in what the party called his game of character assassination, abuses and irresponsible name calling, the party is becoming seriously concerned that he may be caving in under pressure and reverting to his undignified past of substance abuse.

The major opposition party in Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress, has described as sickening and outlandish the claim by the Presidential Campaign Organisation of the Peoples Democratic Party that its chieftain, Bola Tinubu, plans to become vice president through the back door.

The APC said the claim was designed to divert attention from the runaway success of its presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), at the Chatham House in London last Thursday.

The PDP-PCO Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, had said on Friday that skeletal information available to the PDP suggested that the Vice Presidential candidate of the APC, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, was picked by Tinubu and forced to take an oath to resign his appointment six months into the new cabinet should the APC win the elections.

The PDP-PCO further alleged that the party would field Tinubu as Osinbajos replacement after the alleged resignation.

In a statement issued in London on Saturday by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the APC said the PDP and President Goodluck Jonathan administration still do not have any answer to what has now become an epochal moment that has separated the wheat from the chaff.

Mohammed said the claim was the latest in a series of desperate moves by the PDP and Jonathan since the emergence of Buhari as a presidential candidate.

He alleged that the ruling party had thrown everything imaginable at Gen. Buhari.

They said he was not qualified, that he was too old, and then they fabricated a medical report of an illness of their own choice, sponsored death wish adverts against him and instituted a myriad of court cases to stop him. After they failed to stop him, they went after the election itself, using the Permanent Voter Cards as a tool to launch a campaign for postponement and, when they realised that would not work, came up with the bogey of insecurity in the North-East to force a postponement of the election, hoping they can buy enough time to revive their electoral misfortune.

With everything working against them, they engaged in a show of shame at The Chatham House that backfired badly, on the heels of their bare-faced lies that Gen. Buhari was hospitalised in London. The preposterous claim of a secret oath reminiscent of what they do in their own party by the apparently ailing spokesman of the Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Femi Fani-Kayode, is their latest desperate act, Mohammed said.
