APC plots to plunge Nigeria into crisis PDP

March 16, 2015 : John Alechenu and Fidelis Soriwei 67 Comments

The Peoples Democratic Party has accused the opposition All Progressives Congress of plotting to plunge the country into anarchy over the fears of alleged impending defeat at the general elections rescheduled for March 28 and April 11, 2015.

The National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Chief Olisah Metuh, alleged in a statement in Abuja, on Monday that the APC had resorted to creating panic by raising false alarm.

This, the PDP said, was aimed at causing disturbances out of frustration because of the lies and empty promises it hadbeen peddling have been exposed.

The PDP spokesman said the APC had adopted a position to destroy the country if they failed to capture political power.

He alleged further that the leaders of the party had raised several false alarms intended to rubbish the electoral system, create panic and to push the country to the edge of crisis.

National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in his reaction, however, said the PDP was simply reacting to the fact that its desperate plot to frustrate the elections was daily being exposed.

He said, Ask them, didnt we cry out that they were planning to postpone the elections from February 14?Did it not happen? We cried out that they were planning to reject the use of card readers. Did it not happen? When the elections were postponed, did they not rejoice and address the press, welcoming the development?

The truth of the matter is that their plots are leaking every day. Only yesterday, we cried out that they were giving ethnic militias money to demonstrate against Jega. Did it not happen today?

However, Metuh referred to a claim by APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on March 12, 2015, that there were plots to assassinate him and another claim in a statement of the APC on March 15, 2015, where it was claimed that there were plots to assassinate the partys Presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.).

Ill protect the interest of civil servants Ambode

Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode

The Lagos State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, has promised to come up with an attractive salary structure and leave bonus for civil servants in the state if elected into office.

Ambode made the pledge on Friday during an interactive session with permanent secretaries and directors, among other civil servants, at the Adeyemi Bero Hall in Alausa, Ikeja.

He said, In the new deal, both government and unions will seat down to agree on the salary structure and leave bonus arrangement most suitable to the generality of the workers. Also, a quarterly meeting between the governor and the civil servants is also part of the deal that will be designed to make the new dispensation cordial and truly rewarding to the Lagos State workforce.

Ambode also promised to create an avenue, whereby union leaders and civil servants would constantly meet with the government to deliberate on policy making.

He also used the occasion to clear the air on the issue of consolidated salary structure which had reportedly created controversies among civil servants in the state.

He said his government would ensure that the new salary structure met the expectations of the workers.

He said, No single individual, let alone the Accountant General, could have unilaterally changed or adjusted the salary structure of civil servants in the state from harmonised to consolidated salary structure.

While the former allowed for different promotional scales and a leave bonus that is paid at once in the month that an individual chooses to observe his or vacation, the latter has only two grading steps and has the leave bonus spread on the workers consolidated salary every month.

I assure you that things will change. Your leave bonus has always been paid and will continue to be paid. Issues of salary reviews will also be looked into. Cars and housing loans may not necessarily go round, but we will review it and ensure less bureaucracy for those who qualify to access them.

Progressives & truth

Hillary Clinton's news conference detailing her use of a private email account when she was secretary of State is another great opportunity for us to trust, but not verify. Why? Because progressive politicians always tell the truth. You do remember:

Bill Clinton I did not have sexual relations with that woman.

President Obama If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.

Mrs. Clinton I did not email any classified materials.

We do know one guy from the liberal camp who told the truth. Jonathan Gruber, the architect of ObamaCare, told the truth when he spoke about the stupidity of the American voter. Mrs. Clinton proves, contrary to political correctness, that there are stupid people.

Fayose planning to rig with fake policemen -APC

The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State has accusedGovernor Ayodele Fayose of sewing fake Police uniform for thugs to use them rig the forthcoming general elections.

Toachieve the plan, the opposition party said, thugs in police uniforms would be unleashed on the opposition to cripple mobilisation of voters and create fears in the minds of APC members to enable Peoples Democratic Party have a field day during the elections.

The APC alsoraised the alarm over alleged plan by the governor to arrest the party leaders before the March 28 presidential election.

A statement by its Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatubosun, said the party had discovered the governors plot to use trumped-up charges to incarcerate the leaders to cripple the partys mobilisation efforts for victory.

After it became clear that soldiers would not be allowed to be deployed for the polls, PDP leaders in Ekiti State have opted for the police. They have discovered that the fake army uniforms they sewed would be useless and they have started sewing police uniforms for their operation, Olatubosun explained.

He stated that the young men in six 18-seater buses allegedly brought into the state at night about three weeks ago with military uniforms in their luggage were still the same personnel PDP wanted to use for the operation.

But reacting, Fayoses Special Assistant on Information, Lanre Ogunsuyi, said the allegation was unfounded.

The APC is already conceding defeat before the elections proper. All their tricks are falling apart.

The allegation is preposterous. Nothing is working in their favour that is why they are concocting all these lies, he added.
