BREAKING EXCLUSIVE: Information Uncovered Overnight Shows Highland Park …

Police arrested Robert Bobby Crimo III, age 22, yesterday following the shooting in Highland Park, Illinois. Crimo killed six and injured over 20 more individuals at the 4th of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois.

On Tuesday The Gateway Pundit uncovered information indicating Crimo is a radical progressive with ties to Antifa, progressive groups, and the occult.

Looking over information that was collected following the deadly shooting, it is evident the Highland Park 4th of July parade killer, Bobby Crimo, has a very dark background.

We reported on the shooter yesterday when he was confirmed as a person of interest.

Now we have information tying Crimo to progressives, socialists, Antifa and the occult. Crimos social network and lifestyle are all related to the progressive movement.

Crimo has ties to the Democratic Socialists of America as noted by the tattoo on his neck. This is the largest and fastest-growing socialist organization in the US.

Crimo also has ties to Antifa. In one picture on social media, he shares his dark Antifa outfit.

Throughout his social media posts he shares Antifa and progressive symbology.

Evidence reveals Crimo is not a Trump supporter. He makes fun of Trump and his followers in his social media posts. Crimo attended a Trump event dressed up as Wheres Waldo outfit. This appears to be sarcasm and an attack on President 45 who may also be President 47.

His social media posts appear as if he wants to kill President 47.

Crimos work is also very dark. He uses an icon throughout his social media.

This icon comes from mystic set with magic circles, pentagrams and imaginary chakras symbols. Collection of icons with witchcraft and occult handwriting letters.

Crimo shares the icon throughout his media posts.

Progressives hail Biden for action on student loans – The Hill

Progressives are praising President Bidens plan on student loans, arguing the move to provide $20,000 in relief to Pell Grant recipients in particular is a real step toward helping the most needy deal with crippling college debt.

Biden is canceling up to $10,000 in debt for single people making less than $125,000 annually in addition to the $20,000 in relieffor those who received theneed-based program.

Theextrarelief for the Pell Grant group was somewhat of a surprise that sweetened the pot for liberals, who had been calling for as much as $50,000 in debt forgiveness per borrower.

Todays announcement marks a historic moment in the long fight to end the student debt crisis, said Natalia Abrams, president of the Student Debt Crisis Center. Broad-based student debt cancellation will free millions of Americans to invest in their futures, support their families, and contribute to their communities and the economy.

Today is a day of joy and relief, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) tweeted after the announcement.

She had introduced the idea of loan forgiveness during the 2020 presidential campaign and got Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on her side to convince administration officials to take the issue seriously. Schumer was on the phone discussing details with the White House up until the final decision.

Left-wing lawmakers and activists see the move as a positive, necessary step of action before the midterms. By forgiving large portions of Americans loans, Biden moved closer to becoming the progressive leader that he promised to voters, they said, following through on a campaign pledge.

Bidens sweeping planunveiledofficially on Wednesday is the largest forgiveness of federal student loans per person yet. Heeding calls from progressives, he also extended the ongoing federal loan payment freeze and interest accrual until the last day of the year.

The White House announced that borrowerswith existingundergraduate loans can cap repayment at 5 percent of their monthly income. Under his policy, current students with loans are eligible for this debt relief and dependent students will be allowed relief based on their parents income.

The Hillreportedthe news of the planned executive actions and timing on Tuesday.

Biden still didnt go as far as some wished, but the complaints were relatively mutedjust before the official rollout.

While this isnt everything that advocates have called for, I think that many of them will recognize the immense difference that this is going to make in the lives of millions, said one Democratic aide close to the issue.

If all eligible borrowers take advantage of the policy, 43 million people will benefit. Of those, 20 million will have their debt completely wiped out, according to an estimate released by the White House.

The Department of Education also announced forthcoming changes to its existing Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, which allows certain public servants to receive additional assistance, on top of other smaller-scale measures.

Some did lament that Biden did not go further than $10,000.

Its a small, small addition, said Angelo Greco, a progressive campaign strategist. I just dont see how anyone who has been pushing for at least $50,000 and citing all the racial equity stats as motivation to do it can be thrilled about something that scratches the surface of a systemic crisis.

Abrams, of the Student Debt Crisis Center, said that while the announcement is a major win for many, the ceiling will leave others stillcrushedby debt.

We think roughly 20 million people will be debt free, said Thomas Gokey, an organizer with the Debt Collective. For many others this will do very little. We have more work to do.

The NAACP, which had been pressing for more relief than $10,000, said the proposal took the nation closer to alleviating the burden of student debt.

Weve got a ways to go, but the NAACP is proud that we were able to push President Biden to exceed $10,000, bringing us closer to $50,000 and beyond, NAACP President Derrick Johnson said. Monthly payments wont resume until 2023 and will be more manageable for many borrowers.

Republicans are attacking the move as adding to inflation, and some centrist Democrats have shared those concerns.

Rep. Chris Pappas (D-N.H.), who is up for reelection in the fall, bashed the president, saying the plan bypassed lawmakers. He also aired concerns that it will add to the deficit, a talking point echoed by some moderates in recent days.

This announcement by President Biden is no way to make policy and sidesteps Congress and our oversight and fiscal responsibilities, Pappas said. Any plan to address student debt should go through the legislative process, and it should be more targeted and paid for so it doesnt add to the deficit.

Still, on the left, even those who previously quibbled with certain elements considered the announcement a big deal.

Melissa Byrne, a prominent loan forgiveness activist and executive director of We the 45 Million, said Biden made use of his full executive authority.

President Biden indeed made hope and history rhyme by using the power of his pen to cancel student loan debt, said Byrne.

The National Education Association, a labor union, noted that including even more relief for Pell Grant recipients will go a long way.

The additional relief for Pell Grant recipients ensures equity, and that the borrowers with the greatest need are not left behind, said NEA President Becky Pringle. This will have a positive impact on Americas educators and the students they serve. This is an encouraging step toward achieving the goal of broad student loan cancellation of at least $50,000 per borrower without means testing.

For all the enthusiasm among many Democrats, recent polling indicates the issue is decisive. Thirty-four percent of respondents to a newCNBC pollsay only those in need should have debt forgiven, while 32 percent say all of those with student loan debt should have it forgiven. Thirty percent say no debt should be forgiven.

The move also adds to a run of policy success for liberals, whohad ralliedaround the recent climate, tax and health care bill signed into law by Biden. While it did not come close to meeting their initial goals, it still represented the biggest step even taken legislatively in the fight against climate change.

Progressives now want to make gains on other issues notably voting rights.

I think student forgiveness is great. Good folks will save money. It will sow the idea that government is a place where things can get done, said Michael Ceraso, a Democratic strategist and campaign veteran.

But if you want to expand the electorate, you fight for voting rights. Period, he said. Student loan forgiveness doesnt elicit the same response. Its a static move that wont make any ripples. But combine it with voting rights? And Biden becomes the president everyone wanted in 2020.

Coalition of Progressives urges Barrow to address country’s problems – The Point – The Point

In press release issued on 16 August, Coalition of Progressives urges the president to ensure measures are taken to stabilise prices of essential commodities.

Coalition of Progressives also urges the government to establish an independent investigation task force to look into the illegal opening of the special security account.

They also urged the government to publish the report of the joint task force which was set to investigate the burning of the Ministry of Fisheries and Water Resources in 2020 and also act on the recent national audit report of the Banjul rehabilitation project by handing over the report to the Inspector General of Police to open investigation and possible prosecution of perpetrators.

They also called on the National Assembly to prioritise the Anti-Corruption Bill and pass in to law before November 2022.

They noted if these demands are not addressed before November 2022, they promise to stage a decentralised protest in the country.

The release notes that the President is focusing on his political future than addressing the situation of Gambians.

In this regard we are absolutely determined to hold our government to account and to promote a culture of honesty, integrity and sincerity in our public offices. We stand against government greed, selfishness, patronage, corruption and dishonesty.

Will progressives stick with Ricardo Arroyo after sexual assault allegations? – The Boston Globe

Does truth matter anymore? Boston City Councilor Ricardo Arroyo a candidate for Suffolk district attorney is the latest politician to test the theory that it doesnt.

Arroyo is doubling down on something that is hard to believe that until he was asked about it by the Globe, he knew nothing about an allegation that he sexually assaulted a high school classmate in 2005; or that two years later, a second teenage girl reported to police that she believed he may have raped her after she got inebriated at a party. Yet some five hours after a Globe interview about these allegations, he contacted the second alleged victim of a crime he insisted he knew nothing about. Hey its been a long time! I need to speak with you can we talk? he said via Facebook message, which the woman shared with the Globe. The woman also told the Globe Arroyo did not assault her.

Get Weekend Reads from Ideas

A weekly newsletter from the Boston Globe Ideas section, forged at the intersection of 'what if' and 'why not.'

Arroyo says hes innocent of all the allegations which he may be. But he also says he knew nothing about them which is hard to accept, given his effort to contact one alleged victim. As reported by the Globe, the two cases involving him were investigated separately by police and neither led to charges. But also, according to the Globe, Police records explicitly state that a detective spoke to Arroyo and his attorney in the 2005 case. And a spokesman for Kevin Hayden, the current Suffolk district attorney, said Arroyo was contacted back then regarding both investigations.

Arroyo is running against Hayden in the Sept. 6 primary for the countys top law enforcement position. So yes, theres a lot of politics to unpack here. In a statement in which he denies the allegations and knowing anything about them until a week ago, Arroyo also describes them as a political hit job. Sadly, what has now become clear is that the current district attorney or an official working on his behalf just weeks before the election has selectively and illegally leaked incomplete information to the media, he wrote. This was clearly done to leave the false impression that I did something wrong.

Im sure Hayden thinks the same thing about the Globes earlier reporting of his handling of a case involving two Transit Police officers, one of whom allegedly brandished a gun during an off-duty traffic dispute and then engaged the other in a cover-up. Hayden is accused of trying to bury an investigation into the matter. He denies that happened and said the case is open and always was. But his denials didnt stop Arroyo and his supporters in Bostons progressive community from calling upon him to resign.

Will Arroyos supporters believe his truth, when they didnt believe Haydens? Thats what state Senator Lydia Edwards, a Hayden supporter, is asking. When she endorsed Hayden, the pushback from Arroyo backers was brutal. The progressives ripped me apart, said Edwards, whose election to the Senate as the first woman and first person of color from her district was celebrated as a victory for progressives. They were saying he [Arroyo] was the only progressive in the race. It was hard. It was really mean. She shared screenshots of tweets attacking her as a woman of color who harmed her community by endorsing Hayden.

Now the progressive community, which embraced Arroyo as the candidate who stands for criminal justice reform, must decide how to respond to serious criminal allegations against him. After all, prominent Arroyo supporters like Senator Elizabeth Warren, US Representative Ayanna Pressley, and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu have also stood up against sexual misconduct. In 2017, Warren called for then-Senator Al Franken to resign over sexual misconduct allegations and a photo that showed him pretending to grope a sleeping woman. In a letter to President Biden, Pressley has called for justice for victims of sexual assault and shared her own story. Wu, the first woman and person of color to win election to the mayors office, also stood up for victims when she released the files on a former Boston police officer who pleaded guilty to sexual abuse charges.

To stick with Arroyo now, they have to believe not only that hes innocent of these allegations, but that he knew nothing about them until asked by the Globe. They have to accept all of his truth, when some of it sounds unbelievable.

Progressive fundraising group raising $25 million to boost Democrats this November and beyond – The Texas Tribune

Sign up for The Brief, our daily newsletter that keeps readers up to speed on the most essential Texas news.

An alliance of heavy-hitting donors is closing in on a goal of raising $25 million for the 2022 election cycle, looking to build lasting infrastructure for the states progressives as Texas Democrats continue to fight for a way back to power.

The Texas Future Project told The Texas Tribune it has raised or gotten pledges for over $23 million, money that benefits over a dozen groups that are largely focused on organizing around certain issues or get-out-the-vote efforts for specific constituencies. The Texas Future Project started nearly a decade ago, but the $25 million would be the most funding it has raised in a single election cycle so far and a strong sign, it says, that Democratic donors still see promise in Texas.

The biggest thing here is when folks look at Texas, I think a lot of people understand theres a sustained investment [from the right], said Delilah Agho-Otoghile, executive director of Texas Future Project. I dont think that a lot of people understand its [also] on the left.

We explain the voting process with election-specific voter guides to help Texans learn what is on the ballot and how to vote. We interview voters, election administrators and election law experts so that we can explain the process, barriers to participation and what happens after the vote is over and the counting begins. Read more here.

Instead of letting only politicians set the agenda, we talk to voters and scrutinize polling data to understand ordinary Texans top concerns. Our readers questions and needs help inform our priorities. We want to hear from readers: What do you better want to understand about the election process in Texas? If local, state or congressional elected officials were to successfully address one issue right now, what would you want it to be? Whats at stake for you this election cycle? If were missing something, this is your chance to tell us.

We do not merely recount what politicians say, but focus on what they do (or fail to do) for the Texans they represent. We aim to provide historical, legal and other kinds of context so readers can understand and engage with an issue. Reporting on efforts that make voting and engaging in our democracy harder is a pillar of our accountability work. Read more here.

We arent able to closely cover all 150 races in the Texas House, 31 in the Texas Senate or 38 for the Texas delegation in the next U.S. House. We need to choose what races we cover closely by using our best judgment of whats most noteworthy. We take into account factors like power, equity, interest and competitiveness in order to determine what warrants more resources and attention. Read more here.

In reporting on falsehoods and exaggerations, we clearly explain why it is untrue and how it may harm Texans. Sometimes, we choose to not write about misinformation because that can help amplify it. Were more likely to debunk falsehoods when they are spread by elected officials or used as a justification for policy decisions. Read more here.

There are funders that are doubling down, she added.

The list of the Texas Future Projects beneficiaries include groups like Annies List and Planned Parenthood Texas Votes, which work to elect more Democratic women who support abortion rights. Theres Jolt and LUPE Votes, which are focused on building more Latino political power, especially among young people. And there are beneficiaries affiliated with the labor movement, like the Workers Defense Project and Texas Organizing Project.

Beneficiaries also include MOVE Texas, Afiya Center, OCA-Greater Houston, Battleground Texas, Texas Freedom Network, Texas Civil Rights Project, One APIA Texas, AVOW, Transgender Education Network of Texas and Radical Registrars.

The effort is coming at an unsure juncture for Texas Democrats, who had high hopes for a historic breakthrough in 2020 and received the national funding to make it possible but came up very short. Now, Beto ORourke is fueling optimism for Democrats in the governors race, but he remains an underdog and Republican-led redistricting has curtailed down-ballot opportunities, especially in a national environment that favors the GOP.

Agho-Otoghile, who ran ORourkes 2020 presidential campaign in Texas, said Texas Future Projects funders are undeterred by the current headwinds, noting that part of the groups mission is understanding the wins will not be cycle-to-cycle. She pointed to four pillars that donors are focused on: voter registration, voter contact, candidate recruitment and issue advocacy.

The Texas Future Projects membership list is anonymous, but it revealed several funders to the Tribune. Amber Mostyn, the longtime Democratic donor from Houston, is co-founder and board chair. Other individual funders include another prominent Democratic donor from Houston, David Lee, as well as a top Democratic contributor from Dallas, Naomi Aberly.

Groups funding the Texas Future Project include Way to Win, the Texas AFL-CIO, the Stardust Fund, the Movement Voter Project and the Heising-Simons Action Fund.

The group is set up as a non-tax-exempt corporation in which members are required to give a certain amount of money on a regular basis. The group then advises donors on the best way to spend their money with partner organizations.

The group sees itself as an unrivaled convener in the state, calling itself the only statewide entity that holds collective space for donors and organizations to align program and strategy. It has drawn comparisons to the Democracy Alliance, a national coalition of major progressive donors.

There is not a precise parallel to the Texas Future Project on the GOP side, but Texas Republicans have long had ample options for high-dollar fundraising. Groups like Gov. Greg Abbotts campaign, Texans for Lawsuit Reform and the Associated Republicans of Texas all draw millions of dollars for GOP causes.

In the short term, Texas Future Project believes its coordination with so many groups benefits candidates everywhere.

In an election cycle like this one, you need a few things to go right, Agho-Otoghile said. Make sure folks are talking, make sure were not duplicating efforts [and] make sure our groups are collaborating with one another.

Disclosure: MOVE Texas, Planned Parenthood, Texans for Lawsuit Reform, Texas Freedom Network, Afiya Center, Amber Anderson Mostyn, David Lee and the Lebowitz Aberly Family Foundation have been financial supporters of The Texas Tribune, a nonprofit, nonpartisan news organization that is funded in part by donations from members, foundations and corporate sponsors. Financial supporters play no role in the Tribune's journalism. Find a complete list of them here.
