WASHINGTON, D.C.Today, the U.S. Senate will vote on Senator Rand Pauls (R-KY) Joint Resolution of Disapproval,S.J.Res.60, to reject the Biden Administrations effort to provide Turkey with F-16 aircraft as part of an extensive arms deal. Dr. Paul introduced the resolution after the Biden Administration formally notified Congress of its intention to sell Turkey 40 new F-16s and modernize 79 existing F-16s, worth $23 billion.

Dr. Paul is expected to speak on the floor at approximately 3:05PM ET ahead of the 3:20PM ET vote.

It is crucial for Congress to assert its oversight authority regarding foreign military sales, especially when they involve significant arms transfers to nations with a record of disregarding human rights, said Dr. Paul. Turkeys President praised Hamas as a liberation group, Turkeys military fired at our troops in Syria, and Turkeys authorities imprison those who dare to criticize the leader. That doesnt sound like the actions of an ally deserving of $23 billion worth of American firepower.

Turkish President Erdogans brazen endorsement of Hamas as a liberation group following its heinous October 7th attack on Israel underscores disturbing advocacy for the terrorist organization. Additionally, the State Departments 2022 Human Rights Report for Turkey exposed grave violations, including arbitrary killings, torture, and the unjust detention of thousands, including journalists and political dissidents.Turkeys unwavering support for Azerbaijan in its brutal conflict against Nagorno-Karabakh resulted in widespread casualties and a catastrophic humanitarian crisis, displacing over 100,000 individuals. Turkey also procured Russian S-400 air and missile defense systems in 2019, despite strong U.S. protests. The decision prompted the United States to remove Turkey from the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program due to concerns that the S-400 could expose stealth capabilities to Russian intelligence gathering. The United States subsequently imposed sanctions on Turkeys Defense Procurement Agency, which are still in place today. Furthermore, fellow NATO ally Greece accused Turkey of invading its airspace more than 10,000 times in 2022.President Erdogan even threatened to use military force against Greece. Given Turkeys egregious actions,Congress must demand unequivocal adherence to human rights and the rule of law before considering a $23 billion F-16 sale to Turkey.

The joint resolution put forward by Dr. Paul prohibits the sale of a myriad of weapons systems and aircraft, including but not limited to:

Rand Paul was right: Most voters want to protect our border before Ukraines – Washington Examiner

Earlier this month, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) spoke against sending more taxpayer money to Ukraine in foreign aid deals. As part of his argument, Paul mentioned that before we spend money helping other nations, we should first remedy the problems plaguing this country, specifically the crisis at the border and illegal immigration.

This bill is Ukraine first and America last. I think the American people agree with me, Paul said then. Its about showing America that we care about your sovereignty, we care about your tax dollars, and we think that the priority should be here. The priority should be our border.

It turns out Paul was right. Most voters want politicians to secure our border before we secure Ukraines. With our countrys border deterioration since Joe Biden became president, its a logical conclusion. Yet it hasnt stopped the nations elected officials from sending billions of dollars in taxpayer money for a war that has nothing to do with the nations security.

According to a recent survey from Rasmussen Reports, 67% of likely voters agree with protecting our countrys border before we protect a foreign countrys. While this should be the norm during any year, it is particularly relevant in the perilous times we live in with the troubles at the border, given the record number of illegal immigrants entering the country.

Having politicians prioritize the United States before writing the latest check to fund the globalist agenda is a novel concept. Paul knew this, as did several other Republicans, such as Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), who made valid, logical arguments regarding aid to Ukraine.

Imagine if all of our nations politicians prioritized the needs of America. What a wonderful country it would be if they listened to the will of the people who voted them into office, not the desires of special interest groups or elitists.

Rand Paul could travel to New Hampshire as part of anti-Nikki Haley crusade – Washington Examiner

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is looking at potential travel to New Hampshire ahead of the first-in-the-nation Republican primaries to campaign against former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, against whom he issued an anti-endorsement Friday.

Were gonna make a decision next week based on what happens in Iowa, Paul said in an interview with the Washington Examiner.

Depending on the momentum or lack thereof for each candidate coming out of the Jan. 15 Iowa Republican caucuses, the senator will determine whether to make his way to New Hampshire to spread his Never Nikki message.

I havent ruled out going to New Hampshire. I also havent ruled out endorsing a candidate, he said. In making his rebuke of Haley, Paul said he admired aspects of former President Donald Trump, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), Vivek Ramaswamy, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whom he met with earlier this week.

He explained that he wasnt sure how much influence he could have among the early state Republican voters, but Im going to try to do everything I can. Paul said he hopes those who believe he is performing well in the Senate trust him and see Haley doesnt represent conservative and libertarian ideals.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), a DeSantis endorser, underscored how significant Paul coming out against Haley was in an interview with the Washington Examiner. He explained that Paul campaigned in Iowa previously when he ran for president in 2016, and the people know him. Some portion of that could mean a few points swing in Iowa for Ron DeSantis, he predicted.

Massie also suggested Paul could make an impact if he chooses to get involved in New Hampshire, where he noted there is a strong libertarian sentiment.

Paul stressed how committed he is to preventing Haley from becoming the Republican nominee for president. The senator believes the former U.N. ambassador would do the bidding of large corporations and defense contractors, noting her past position on the board of Boeing and current membership of United Homes Groups board.

Further, he expressed serious concern over her interventionist foreign policy, her stance on the First Amendment, her promise to tackle entitlements, and her supposed fiscal conservatism, which he expressed skepticism of.

According to Paul, its the quiet little secret in the caucus that Senate Republican leaders, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), want Haley to win. They think shes malleable enough. Shes in enough with the corporate military folks that she will be pliable, he added.

Asked if he would support Haley if she were to become the Republican nominee, he said, I dont think were there yet. My reason for getting involved now is to make sure we never get to that point.

If that day were to come, he said he would make a decision then.

Paul also reacted to Haleys attack on Massie earlier this week during the CNN Republican primary debate. At the event, she hit DeSantis for campaigning with the most anti-Israel Republican, referencing the congressmans vote on a resolution condemning Hamass attacks and recognizing Israels right to exist. The resolution, which Massie was the lone vote against, specifically recognizes that denying Israels right to exist is a form of antisemitism.

Massie said his vote was due to the conflation of anti-Zionism with antisemitism. Speaking with the Washington Examiner, he called the vote principled and claimed nobody on this planet thinks Im antisemitic or anti-Israel.

So when she says that, it just comes off as ridiculous, he said of Haleys remark. DeSantis felt similarly, dismissing her jab as cheap garbage at the debate.

Paul also denounced Haleys attack, agreeing that Massies vote was for principled and constitutional reasons and calling her comment a cheap shot and unfair.

In a statement, Haley spokeswoman Nachama Soloveichik defended the remark, saying, Ron DeSantis needs to explain to Iowa voters why he campaigns with the most anti-Israel Republican in Congress who votes to undermine Israel and foster antisemitism.

DeSantis had that opportunity on Wednesday, but he didnt take it. In contrast, Nikki Haley will always have Israels back, she continued.

Chris Sununu’s anonymity and envy of Rand Paul – Washington Examiner

The Rockefeller wing of the Republican Party is alive and well in Gov. Chris Sununu (R-NH). The ski resort CEO and rugby jock is the latest Trumpophobe to be the darling of the legacy media.

Sununu is the kind of guy who was born on third base and thought he hit a triple. As such, he feels that despite being a governor of a state of 1.4 million people (less than my hometown of Philadelphia), he thinks he has national influence. It is worth noting the state of Kentucky has a population three times that of New Hampshire. It is also worth noting that Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has 73 times the amount of followers on X (the social media website previously called Twitter) than Sununu.

So not only does he have the hubris to believe that his endorsement of fellow Rockefeller Republican Nikki Haley matters, but he dares to say that nobody cares about what Paul says? Sununu should take a look in the mirror. If obscurity and ignominy were Olympic sports, Sununu would be a gold medalist many times over.

So what is driving Sununus fervid devotion to Haley? A fealty so great he casts aspersions at Paul on national television? Well, for one thing, Paul has been very vocal about his opposition to Haleys candidacy for president. Haleys campaign is receiving the support of many wealthy donors, including Democrats. Sununu does not seem to mind this.

A deeper dive into the differences between Pauls support for former President Donald Trump and Sununus support for Haley reveals the schism in todays Republican Party. They are the differences between the business-as-usual GOP and Trumps drain-the-swamp GOP.

Sununu represents the halcyon days when Wall Street and business lobbyists ruled the Republican Party. They are not concerned about social policy. All they want is to be free to make their profits. They are careful not to offend anybody because this might create animosity and animosity is bad for business.

For example, Sununu went against his own partys legislators and signed into law bills affirming transgenderism. He signed in June 2018 a bill prohibiting licensed practitioners from any practice that attempts to change a persons sexual orientation or gender identity or makes an effort to reduce a persons attraction toward the same gender. That same month, Sununu also opposed Republicans by signing a bill prohibiting discrimination in public accommodations against transgender people. A year later, he signed a bill prohibiting discrimination in school participation because of gender identity. Moreover, in 2019, he signed a law that expanded the definition of gender discrimination to include gender identity and sexual orientation.

According to a June 1, 2023, press release by Planned Parenthood New Hampshire, Sununu touted the fact that he was a pro-choice politician (even though he was not adequately pro-choice for the abortion-loving Planned Parenthood). Contrast this to Pauls unabashedly pro-life stance. Paul has a 100% rating from the National Right to Life Committee. Ironically, Haley, like Sununu, used to be strongly pro-life but has now moderated her stance.

But the real difference between the Kentucky senator and the Sununu/Haley faction is foreign policy. Paul represents the wishes of the average person who pays the taxes that fund the wars and who provides for the lives that are lost in war.

Among Pauls reasons for opposing Haley is her praise for the United Nations and the people who run it, saying that she repeatedly praised the U.N. Secretary-General (former president of Socialist International) and declared that they think alike.' Furthermore, Haley disagreed with Trumps decision to pull U.S. troops out of Syria and Afghanistan and defended continued U.S. presence in both places.

While Sununu wants to pretend he has the gravitas to influence voters in favor of Haley, his background suggests otherwise. Sununu is not a serious person. His support for Haley is meaningless.

The difference between the two is quite simple. Sununu was the CEO of a ski resort. Paul founded the Southern Kentucky Lions Eye Clinic, an organization that provides eye exams and surgeries to needy residents and their families.

Pauls pro bono patients care what he thinks and so do others. Sununus opinions do not have the same influence. Many more people care about the Kentucky senators views than those of some obscure politician from New Hampshire.

Sen. Rand Paul starts a new PAC: ‘#Never Nikki’ – Must Read Alaska

Sen. Rand Paul, a conservative Republican from Kentucky, announced the creation of a political action committee that will discourage voters from choosing Nikki Haley as the Republican presidential nominee.

Ihave been watching the GOP Primary closely for a while now, and I like various aspects of several candidates Republicans like President Trump, Governor DeSantis, and Vivek Ramaswamy. Im interested in the ideas of some independents too, such as Bobby Kennedy. As I look over the field, I dont think I yet have a first choice, but I do know one thing: count me in asNever Nikki, he wrote on the PACs newly launched website.

Based on her record and campaign, I dont see how any thoughtful or informed libertarian or conservative should vote for Nikki Haley. If you agree, let your voice be heard, he wrote.

Haley has surged past Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in some polls. In New Hampshire, Haley is now at 28%, up from 18% in November in a recent Emerson College poll. DeSantis is down to 7%. Former President Donald Trump is at 44%, down from 49%. The poll was conducted Jan. 8-10 among 751 Republican presidential primary voters in New Hampshire.

In national poll averages published by FiveThirtyEight.com, Haley and DeSantis are neck-and-neck at about 12%, while Trump sits at 60% of the Republican voters.

But Sen. Paul isnt buying what Haley is selling.

Nikki Haley supports Biden and McConnell and the forever-war crowd on funding for the war in Ukraine. Her thirst for war is so strong she actually said: Im sick of talking about a Department of Defense. I want a Department of Offense.

She even personally received millions of dollars from the arms merchants who benefit from the war, a conflict of interest that undergirds her eagerness for foreign military intervention. This position isnt new either as governor of South Carolina she gave tax dollars to those same arms merchants, and they showered her with campaign contributions and a seat on their board when she left office. While most others were decrying the mistakes of the past 20 years, and fighting for an America First foreign policy, Nikki Haley was aligning herself with and declaring her foreign policy allies to be John McCain and Lindsey Graham.

Nikki Haley believes in nearly unlimited foreign aid we have sent over $100 BILLION we dont have to Ukraine already and she wants more. But this also isnt new. In her book With All Due Respect, she wrote Humanitarian Assistance will always be a priority for the United States, we will always be generous.'

But Nikki Haleys generosity with your tax dollars and her support for all foreign aid in the context of a $34 TRILLION dollar debt is in no way libertarian or conservative. Beyond the issues of endless wars, Nikki Haleys lack of respect for freedom of speech is shocking to anyone who believes in the constitution.

Sen. Paul said that Nikki Haley believes that all internet posters should be registered and verified.

This flies in the face of a free American Republic whose founders wrote anonymously the Federalist Papers and routinely posted newspaper articles and pamphlets under Pseudonyms. Anyone who doesnt fully believe in free speech or who wants endless wars has no business anywhere near the White House. But wait, theres more.

Nikki Haley routinely praised the mission of the United Nations, the results they achieved, and the people who ran it, Rand said.

First up, her quoteI believe the U.N. does valuable work. By that she means your tax dollars since the US is the primary funder of UN. She repeatedly praised the U.N. Secretary General (former president of Socialist International) and declared that they think alike,' he wrote.

Nikki Haley disagreed with President Trumps decision to pull U.S. troops out of Syria and Afghanistan and defended continued U.S. presence in both places. If you want to move quickly to domestic policy, in South Carolina, Nikki Haley advocated for a gas tax hike, a state-run vaccine registry and never lifted a finger for school choice, Rand wrote.
