Rand Paul on Hillary Clinton: Convenience shouldn …

Rand Paul (AP)

Rand Paul criticized Hillary Rodham Clintons explanations about her e-mail and suggested she is not trustworthy.

I dont think convenience should trump national security, Paul said Wednesday on NBCs Today show, choosing the word Clinton herself used to describe why she exclusively used a private e-mail system for her business as secretary of State.

The comments from the Kentucky senator are not surprising, especially since Paul is making moves toward running for the GOP presidential nomination. But with Clintons news conference the talk of the town, Paul so far is one of the few potential 2016 candidates to speak out about the leading Democratic presidential contender. He made similar comments Tuesday night on Fox News.

We cant trust her to do the right thing the first time, Paul said on the Today show.

Jeb Bush did not have a comment about Clintons news conference, but he said last week in an Iowa radio interview that he found her practice baffling. Scott Walker slammed Clintons audacity in an interview with The Weekly Standard published Monday.

Heres what other potential 2016 GOP candidates had to say about Clintons news conference:

A tweet from Carly Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, also seized on the trust factor:

Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, who has known Clinton for decades, stopped short of saying Clinton lied in a Tuesday radio interview with Hugh Hewitt.

Thats a tough word, Huckabee said. Lets say she is incredibly either uninformed about the realities of technical equipment, or it would be fair to say that she is memory-challenged, maybe truth-challenged would even be more fair.

Rand Paul Says He Wanted To Strengthen The President’s …

The email hysteria continued today. First Matt Lauer asked Senator Rand Paul about the Hillary Clinton's email "scandal," and he essentially replied with the usual Randian response, we can't trust her, because she's a Clinton. Paul concluded, Hillary is basically saying,

Okay Rand, we can see clearly you are threatened by Hillary Clinton, but let's get to the real issue: The f$#%king letter! Mercifully, Hillary raised a legitimate concern that the Senators are so anti-Obama that they've become pro-nuclear Iran.

Matt Lauer brings up the "#47Traitors" letter he signed. He asked if he were President Rand Paul, would he like his negotiations undermined by a group of Senators. Generally, we allot either Paul (Rand or Ron) allowance of five minutes, where they seem reasonable, but then, the batsh*t crazy usually comes out. Today it only took two minutes.

Lauer asks,

So Senator Rand Paul, self-certified optometrist and "isolationist" replies,

Well I have also reiterated what the Constitution says, that the powers are separated, and when legislation is passed by Congress. Congress passed most of the sanctions, they can't be taken back without Congress passing new legislation. So I think this is a law no matter whether there is a letter, no matter whether the Corker Bill passes or not, I think the law is that the sanctions can only be removed by Congress and by reiterating that, we send a message that this has got to be a good deal.

Translation: if the President of the United States doesn't do what the current leader of Israel has demanded, we will throw a hissy fit and communicate in an unorthodox and dangerous manner, and we dare you to do something about it.

Unlike me, if I were President, I'd immediately seek a massive censure of the GOP Senator/traitors. Thankfully, our President Obama is a consummate chess player and he's planning his checkmate. We can hope that these clowns are eventually going to face serious consequences for their act of defiance. The world, once again, looks upon the GOP Senate with horror and disgust.

I'm sure it's very confusing for our allies that our Congress gave George W. Bush a blank check to conduct two illegal wars, yet they wish to impede the progress of finding a peaceful solution to nuclear armaments in Iran. *Facepalm*
