Oops. New Colorado Republican chairman Steve House made an error in his first fundraising e-mail, accusing Denver Democrats of killing a TABOR refund bill when actually the measure has yet to even be scheduled for a hearing.

House, who beat Ryan Call for the chairmans post earlier this month, outlined the common sense conservative bills that Democrat obstructionists in the state House have killed. (Republicans control the Senate; Democrats the House.) The chairman included in the list of dead bills Senate Bill 1 from Senate President Bill Cadman, R-Colorado Springs, which puts TABOR money into the pockets of the working families.

But Senate Republicans are waiting until the legislature passes the budget before taking up the measure which, by the way, the left-leaning Colorado Fiscal Institute actually likes.

Said House: We noted that little mistake right after we sent it out and they forgave us on the hill.

The boo boo isnt a major one but Democrats are giggling, of course, just as Republicans would be if the situation were reversed.

Houses use of the phrase Denver Democrats throughout the letter is curious. Denver of course is a Democratic powerhouse but neither of the top two Democrats in the legislature are from the Mile High City. House Speaker Dickey Lee Hullinghorst is from Boulder, while Senate Minority Leader Morgan Carroll is from Aurora.

Despite the GOPs courageous victory in November in taking control of the State Senate, the radical left still has an unrelenting strangle hold on the State Capitol. We must hold the Denver Democrats accountable, House wrote.
