Historical events tend to generate many business opportunities which naturally add wealth to the economy.

Boston Tea Party is a historical event that celebrates the protest against the tax on tea imposed by the British parliament. It happened on Dec. 16, 1773. This past December marked the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party.

The event has a huge cultural significance as it ultimately helped spark the American Revolution.

Lets look at the business opportunities that originated from the Boston Tea Party:

The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum

Located at the Congress Street Bridge in Boston, this museum provides a guided tour of what the historic event is all about. Exhibits, actors, re-enactments the museum attempts to tell the story by holding the hand of the public and walking them through the entire experience of it.

The museum currently has two replicas of the 18th-century ships that took part in the Boston Tea Party, according to a fact sheet released by the museum.

The ticket pricing for the museum ranges between $17.10 and $29.95, depending on the age and the booking medium. There are also tea tastings ranging between $3.99 and $14.00.

Annual Boston Tea Party Anniversary and Reenactment

The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum collaborates with Old South Meeting House, the organizing point of the Boston Tea Party, to host the reenactment of the historic event every year on Dec. 16.

The price for the reenactment ranges between $20 and $40, depending on the age and the membership status of the participant. The tickets are sold out for this years reenactment event.

There is an open-to-all Destruction of the Tea event at Atlantic Wharf which the public can watch for free from the Boston Harborwalk.

The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum Gift Shop

The gift shop at the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum has several memorabilia and items in a varied range of prices. They have online and offline shopping facilities for their customers.

Museum exclusives, holiday ornaments, and items specifically related to the 205th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party are some of the categories of products available on the gift shop website.

Venue rentals for events

Venue rentals are also available to customers, should they decide to host an event with or without the historic theme to make it a unique experience. There are a few venues at the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum that are available for booking.

This particular idea of renting out venues also generates business for several caterers, florists, and photographers who are listed on the website.

Hotel Packages

The celebration also creates opportunities in the hospitality industry as hotels in the city offer special packages and offers specifically concerning the historic event.

The commemoration of the event brings in a lot of business to the city and thereby, creates work opportunities. Be it a reenactment or a catering service, the event helps generate revenue and promote tourism for the city.

Beyond the cultural impact, lies the economic opportunity.

How to Host a Proper Tea Party It’s Easier Than You Think! – Lancaster Farming

HARRISBURG, Pa. Mary Klaus has one rule for hosting a tea party.

There are no rules.

You dont need to dress up and have your pinky out, said Klaus. This is 2024 ... were not that fancy.

That was one of the many pearls of wisdom Klaus served up Thursday morning at the Pennsylvania Farm Show. Her talk, simply titled How to Give a Proper Tea Party, was attended by approximately 100 fair-goers.

While Klaus aimed to take the stress out of hosting a tea party, she did offer several helpful guidelines for achieving the perfect brew.

Never make just one cup of tea, said Klaus, who only uses loose tea for brewing. I make a teapot every time. And you dont throw it away ... you have iced tea.

Klaus also doesnt use tea balls or other infusers to keep leaves separate from the hot water.

You need to allow the tea to be loose in the pot so it has a chance to circulate, she explained. But you do have to strain it before it goes into the cup ... unless you want to tell someones fortune.

After steeping the loose tea in boiling water for two minutes, Klaus employs a tea butterfly to pour tea for her guests. It has a little sponge on the end and also keeps your lid on, so (the tea) doesnt go on your guests.

To keep her teapot warm, Klaus uses these cozies she collected over the years.

Once the first round of tea is poured, Klaus uses one of her many tea cozies to keep the teapot warm. It looks somewhat like a toaster cover, but is very thick.

Klaus said sometimes she uses a tea press (which many know as a French press) to quickly steep her tea.

When it comes to adding milk, sugar or lemon to tea Klaus says its all a matter of personal preference.

I drink my tea without milk or sugar, she said. But my guests can have it however they choose.

This "lemon bird' allows guests to squeeze fresh lemon into their tea.

If her guests prefer lemon in their tea, Klaus has a clever little lemon bird that allows a slice of lemon to be squeezed out of the metal birds mouth. You can also use a lemon squeezer or wrap half a lemon in cheese cloth, she added.

If you come to her house for tea, Klaus said youll get a menu with four different teas. Everyone gets their own teapot and four little cups so you can sample all the teas.

Klaus recommends creating a menu of the teas that will be sampled at the tea party.

Similar to a wine pairing, Klaus will also match her teas with sweet treats. If Im serving cranberry tea, Ill make cranberry scones to go with it, said Klaus, adding she also likes to make lemon- or apricot- flavored madeleines using the shell-like cake molds.

Klaus is always looking for ways to have fun at her tea parties. One of them is to offer fancy hats for everyone to wear.

I have five boxes of hats, Klaus said. Some people say, I dont look nice in hats, but they just have to find the right hat.

Klaus also wears many hats in her professional life. Her impressive career includes more than 30 years as a journalist as well as service as a Hospice nurse and missionary.

I have done tea parties all over the world, Klaus noted. I once served tea in a Sudanese prison.

Klaus also did a tea service for women in Maldova (a neighbor of Ukraine). Since the house had no electricity, she brewed her tea over an open fire in a bucket.

It was not my standard, but they were happy because they had hot tea and a cookie, she said. Tea always demands some type of sweet.

Klaus said she also serves tea at Hospice.

Families are stressed out and Ill say, lets have a cup of tea. If the patient is healthy enough we all have tea together, put hats on and they forget theyre sick.

Even a burly bunch of firefighters has a tough time resisting Klaus enticing brews.

At the firehouse Ill serve tea to guys that think they dont like tea, Klaus said. So Ill bring (one with a) cool name like Congo Bongo ... thats almond and coconut.

As Klaus and her friend Janice Shuty poured raspberry tea for the audience, Klaus shared a memory of why tea holds a special place in her heart.

When I was a little girl my mom would serve me tea in bed Saturday mornings. And I would drink tea and read Nancy Drew books, Klaus recalled. Thats a treasured childhood memory.

Personalized placeholders make guest feel extra special.

Debbie Tornfelt of Lancaster and her friend Rachel Mundis both felt they learned something from Klaus presentation.

We have a gourmet group together and it would be fun to do a flight of teas, Tornfelt said. Mundis added, I thought it was interesting she used a French press for loose tea. ... I never really thought of doing that.

Klaus concluded her presentation by saying the perfect tea party is one where youre relaxed, your guests are relaxed, the tea tastes good and youre having fun.

Its not for a queen, its for you, Klaus said. Youre all queens and kings in your own right.

After Donald Trump’s Iowa Win, Former VA Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling (R) Plaintively Asks, whatever happened to the GOP I … – Blue Virginia

See below for an interesting post by former Virginia Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling (R) on Trumps win last night in Iowa. Note, though, that what Bolling writes, really does require a few corrections (in BOLD BLUE ALL-CAPS, by yours truly), as Bolling spews out some of the same lies, distortions and right-wing blather than he rails against. So weird, but keep in mind that Bollings been a conservative and a Republican his entire adult life, hasnt ditched the party (to my knowledge) despite the fact that its become a Trump cult, etc. And Bolling really cant help himself with the total b.s. both-sidesism, false equivalence, and amplification of utter nonsense about liberals, Democrats, Joe Biden, etc. Its kinda sad, really, that this guys actually one of the better Republicans these daysugh.

*************************

THE TRUMP FACTOR

Clearly, todays GOP belongs to Donald Trump, which leaves me asking whatever happened to the GOP I knew and served for more than twenty years?

The answer to this question is both simple and complex.

It started with the advent of the Tea Party in 2009. The Tea Party refocused the GOP on a more conservative message, but it also brought a philosophical rigidity with it, as well as a more mean spirited approach to politics and policy.

And then, in 2016, the Tea Party joined with a true grass roots populist movement to hand the GOP over to Donald Trump.

But even then, Trumps hold on the GOP may not have been absolute.

The almost cult like following surrounding Trump has been solidified since he left office by what he and his supporters see as an incessant persecution of Trump by the liberal media [THERE IS, OF COURSE, NO LIBERAL MEDIA TO SPEAK OF], the Biden Justice Department [ITS NOT BIDENS JUSTICE DEPARTMENT, ITS AMERICAS JUSTICE DEPARTMENT], and Democratic prosecutors in places like New York, Atlanta, and other places; who they believe have weaponized the judicial process against Trump.

Many people discount Trump, but they should not. Like it or not, Trump represents the views of millions of Americans who believe their country is under attack by liberal politicians, the liberal media, liberal academics, Hollywood, etc. [THEY BELIEVE THIS LUNACY IN LARGE PART BECAUSE THEYVE BEEN FED A STEADY DIET OF LIES, AND ALSO BECAUSE THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA DEFINITELY NOT LIBERAL MEDIA HAS MOSTLY AMPLIFIED THOSE LIES, CERTAINLY HAS NOT CORRECTED/REFUTED THEM ADEQUATELY!]

They passionately believe that these liberal forces are trying to turn America into a socialist country that rejects many of the political, cultural and religious beliefs they hold.

And lets not forget that the alternative being offered by Democrats is not compelling. [ACTUALLY, THE ALTERNATIVE BEING OFFERED BY DEMOCRATS IS VERY COMPELLING CLIMATE ACTION/CLEAN ENERGY, ECONOMIC GROWTH FROM THE BOTTOM UP AND MIDDLE OUT, EXPANDED HEALTHCARE OPTIONS,

[THIS ENTIRE PARAGRAPH IS COMPLETE CRAP. IN FACT, BIDEN IS DOING A SUPERB JOB BY ANY MEASURE ECONOMY ARGUABLY THE BEST IN DECADES, MASSIVE INVESTMENT IN AMERICAS INFRASTRUCTURE, ETC!] By any measure, Joe Biden is a weak president who is immensely unpopular. He is old and tired, and he has shown no ability to galvinize support or confidence among the American people.

All this makes for a dynamic and divisive 2024 presidential campaign, which could leave deep wounds in American democracy, regardless of the outcome. [THIS IS ALSO COMPLETE BULLSHIT A BIDEN WIN WILL NOT LEAVE DEEP WOUNDS IN AMERICAN DEMOCRACY, ONLY A TRUMP WIN WILL DO THAT]

Personally, I wish Donald Trump had never arrived on the national political scene. But he did, and for better or worse, he has had a greater impact on our country than any political figure in a hundred years.
