Tea party cash boost for charity
A TEAM of Hampshire women have been rallying to raise millions with copious amounts of tea and cake.
Jo Sellers is a businesswoman based in Alresford who is determined to help people with breast cancer.
So she joined the regional campaign which was launched this week by The Haven in Wessex to take part in their 1 million Tea Party.
With the help of her colleagues at Sellers PR Jo invited businesses near her offices in Bishops Sutton to take part in the mission which will see a new respite centre built in Hampshire.
From a teapot-shaped cake with matching cup and saucer to traditional vintage crockery and endless servings of Earl Grey, Jo thought of everything to encourage donations and so far she has raised more than 600.
She said: It was an amazing event and everyone was so supportive. The Haven already has centres in other parts of the UK and from what the women who have stayed there have told me it really makes a difference to their recovery process.
The beauty of this campaign is that there will be hundreds of tea parties going on that we dont know about but they are all helping.
