FORT WAYNE The sponsor of her Friday appearance in Fort Wayne calls Ann Coulter one of Americas most outspoken women.

No stretch there. The conservative political commentator and author typically is described as outrageous and provocative. Coulter trades on her flamboyant, anything-goes persona, according to a 2010 profile by the New York Times.

Titles of her best-selling books have paired the word liberal with demonic, godless and treason. She referred to President Barack Obama as the retard in a tweet last year.

All of it has paid off for Coulter, 51, who for many years has occupied a national right-wing media stratum that includes Rush Limbaugh, Bill OReilly and Sean Hannity.

Coulter will appear at 8 p.m. Friday at Grand Wayne Center as the first speaker in the Northern Indiana Business & Life Masters Series sponsored by Fort Wayne radio station WOWO.

Coulter, who reportedly has homes in Palm Beach, Fla., New York City and Los Angeles, will be joined by Fox News analyst and commentator Todd Starnes.

About 600 tickets ranging from $25 for general admission to $150 for a dinner and meet and greet with Coulter have been sold for the event, according to Brian Sheikh, event coordinator for Federated Entertainment, a division of the company that owns WOWO.

Sheikh said about 80 people will attend the dinner. A VIP section near the stage, where 150 seats cost $50 each, has sold out. A bus carrying people to Grand Wayne from Mishawaka sold all of its 56 seats at $39 each.

Coulter will speak for about a half-hour, have a question-and-answer session with her audience and sign copies of her latest book, Mugged: Racial Demagoguery From the Seventies to Obama.

Sheikh said in an email he could not disclose Coulters appearance fee. Various media have reported in recent years that Coulter charges $20,000 or more for speeches.

Washington, D.C. - Three conservative activists affiliated with the National Center for Public Policy Research who possess more than 85 years of professional experience between them are criticizing author Ann Coulter for her shameful racial tweaking on the September 9 edition of Fox News Channel program "Hannity."

Coulter, who is releasing a new book next month, appeared on "Hannity" to discuss the Obama Administration's weak response on Syria. On three occasions during in the approximately seven-minute segment, Coulter used "Obama" and "monkey" in the same sentence. It was done in the context of Russian President Vladimir Putin manipulating the Syrian crisis to make Obama look weak and indecisive on the international stage.

During the interview, Coulter said Putin "is making a monkey out of Obama," that the crisis may have been orchestrated "to make Obama look like a monkey" and that Putin "made Obama a monkey" on several occasions since the President's re-election.

While Coulter is free to choose her idioms, it appeared obvious her word choice was purposefully meant to provoke controversy. Even host Sean Hannity called out Coulter on her syntax three times during the relatively short segment, specifically asking at one point: "Why are you saying that? Because you know people are going to criticize you for using that term against the President... Are you trying to be provocative?" Obviously taken aback, Coulter paused and denied Hannity's assertion, but then subsequently used the term "ragdoll" to characterize Putin as "playing with" Obama.

Right wing author and TV commentator Ann Coulter has been called many things, but subtle is not one of them.

When she appeared on Sean Hannitys Fox News program Sept. 9, she repeatedly compared President Barack Obama to a monkey, giving even Hannity, the shows staunchly conservative host who devotes most of his program to attacking the president on a nightly basis, cause for concern.

In the interview, Coulter, 51, alleges that the Syrian crisis is the result of a conspiracy orchestrated by Russian leader Vladimir Putin in order to discredit Obama.

This whole thing was set up by Putin to make Obama look like a monkey, Coulter said, her second repetition of the word monkey in relation to Obama.

Coulter was on Hannitys show promoting her upcoming book, Never Trust a Liberal Over 3, Especially a Republican, on the cover of which the popular pundit poses in a thigh-length, skin-tight blue dress.

Wow! Look at that blue dress! Hannity, 51, gushed, ogling the books cover on the air. This may be the best book cover ever!

But when Coulter employed the monkey reference for the third time, saying, Putin has time after time after time made Obama a monkey, even the admiring Hannity became uneasy.

Why are you saying that? Hannity asked her, arms folded. Because you know people are going to criticize you for using that term against the president. Are you doing that to be provocative?

Coulter then backtracked somewhat.

He (Putin) is just tossing Obama around, I dont care what you say -- like a rag doll, she said on the program.

Ann Coulter joined Sean Hannity on Monday night to bash President Obama for a failure of leadership on Syria. Hannity called Obama confused and wimpy, while Coulter derided the White House for thinking this is a simple Aaron Sorkin monologue away from being solved, adding that she believes Vladimir Putin has made Obama into a monkey on Syria.

Hannity found the days events embarrassing for Obama, while Coulter acknowledged that Kerrys off-the-cuff comment about Syria handing over their chemical weapons was ver cleverly snatched up by Putin. Hannity was astonished that Putin appears to be the great peacemaker in all this, with Coulter saying hes looking like a man while Obama looks week.

She reminded Hannity how much the media (Obamas PR crew) mocked Mitt Romney last year for saying Russia is Americas number one geopolitical foe. After using the Obama-as-Putins-monkey line again, Hannity asked her why shes using that word specifically. Coulter simply insisted that Putin is playing with him and making him look ridiculous.

Coulter concluded, We dont go around and intervene with an unbelievably small attack every time something bad happens in the world.
