ClubstoHire.com has extended its innovative business to nine outlet stores with the acquisition of Lisbon and Isle of Man.

The Lisbon branch will open on April 1 and marks the third capital city - Dublin and Edinburgh - in which Paul McGinleys golf club hire operation has launched a store.

McGinleys fellow ClubstoHire director Tony Judge said: Lisbon airport serves around 13 million passengers per year and is the seventh-most-visited city in Southern Europe, so its an ideal site at which to open our ninth outlet.

Its also the gateway to an outstanding golfing area, with 19 courses within a 45-minute drive from the airport, including Praia del Rey, Bom Sucesso, Oitavos Dunes and Penha Longa. So clearly a large number of golfers will be heading there.

The decision to open further branches of ClubstoHire has been driven by outstanding results with bookings for January 2012 up by 250% on the same time last year.

And golfers heading to the delightful and historic Isle of Man can now benefit from the service after it opened on the Crown Dependency.

Isle of Man Golf Tours, the islands first dedicated tour operator, is acting as agent for ClubstoHire and will offer the same high-quality equipment and levels of service that have seen 25,000 customers use the service since it launched in Faro in July 2010.

There are nine golf courses on theIsle of Man including the renowned Castletown Links.

Bookings for Antalya, Alicante, Murcia, Dublin, Malaga, Edinburgh, the Isle of Man, Lisbon and Faro can be made online at http://www.clubstohire.com

Isle of Man Sport Aid – Cavendish Scholarships

by Chris Quine

Isle of Man Sport Aid is delighted to announce that World Cycling Champion Mark Cavendish is to make a substantial personal donation to help create a number of sports scholarships for the benefit of young sporting talent.

The surprise announcement which was made at Thursday nights Isle of Man Sports Awards, with Mark present, was one of the highlights of the evening.

The first recipients of these prestigious awards are Chris Nicholson from cycling and up and coming swimmers Charlotte Atkinson and Laura Kinley. In addition, further support will be provided to a programme being established by Isle of Man Cycling for young riders to attend British Cycling Regional School of Racing camps under the banner of Cavendish Racing Isle of Man Cycling.

Mark, who was supported by Isle of Man Sport Aid from 2000 to 2005 and commented on stage:

This Island produces so many great sportspeople across all sports but you cant show it when you live on an island, you need to get away and I was able to do that due to the help from Sports Aid Foundation. It was a great help to me going away each weekend on the Steam Packet but even with their support sometimes needed more..... Im now in a position where I can help people who are literally in the same boat that I was a few years ago.

Gary Corkhill, Chairman of Isle of Man Sport Aid later added:

We are thrilled that Mark has made this very generous offer and he can be sure that it will be making a difference to some of our up and coming sporting talent.

We were pleased to assist Mark in the early part of his career and it is marvellous that he is now in a position to offer us help in return. What could be more motivational for any young sportsperson, particularly a cyclist, than to be supported by a sporting superstar.

Isle of Man Sport Aid is a registered charity established by Isle of Man Sport to assist the most talented of the Isle of Mans sportsmen and women. Amongst those either currently supported or who have been supported in recent years are Mark Cavendish, David Knight, Peter Kennaugh, Zoe Gillings and Conor Cummins. In 2006 Sport Aid established the Isle of Man Institute of Sport which became the Isle of Man Sport Institute when a new purpose built facility was opened at the NSC in 2009.

The Company also announced completion of a USD10 million loan facility secured against its drilling rigs and related equipment. Part of this loan was a rollover of a previous debt facility primarily related to this equipment giving the company a total current debt burden of USD10 million dollars.

Dr. David Robson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Tethys Petroleum, commented: "In 2011 we made significant progress on the key projects in Tethys. In Kazakhstan we drilled successful appraisal wells and made a new exploration discovery both significantly increasing our core reserves. The modeling work we have now completed based on these drilling results bodes well for the new appraisal/exploration wells we will drill in 2012 where success would see further reserves upgrades. The Aral Oil Terminal is now complete and will become operational imminently effectively doubling oil production. In Tajikistan we advanced the deep sub-salt exploration program with the completion of the graviometry survey, the results of which are very exciting and confirm our previous geological evaluation, indicating the possible presence of giant Jurassic reefs below the salt. Looking forward in 2012 the new final seismic survey will focus on the most prospective areas with the intention of firming up a location to spud a deep well."
