Tiemoue Bakayoko’s club changed to Chelsea on his Wikipedia page ahead of 36.7m transfer – Express.co.uk

Bakayoko is expected to seal a 36.7million switch from Monaco to Chelsea within the next 48 hours.

Express Sport understands Bakayoko will fly into London in the next few days to undergo a medical and sign a five-year deal.

But someone jumped the gun on Wikipedia by changing the 22-year-olds current team to Chelsea.

His introduction was also amended to read Tiemoue Bakayoko (born 17 August 1994) is a French professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Chelsea FC.

However, the prank was short lived as his page was edited back to state him as a Monaco player this morning.

How could Chelsea line up at the start of the 2017/18 season?

Bakayoko looks set to become a Chelsea player as early as this week, although reports in France claim the deal has hit a setback.

France Football say while the transfer is on track the deal could take longer than expected because the player and club have not agreed on wage terms.

The exact terms being discussed are not known but the midfielder could expect a healthy packet given his recent success.

Bakayoko was a key part of the Monaco team that beat Paris Saint-Germain to the Ligue 1 title last season and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.

He made 46 appearances for Leonardo Jardims side, earning himself full senior honours for France in March.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has identified Bakayoko as his top midfield target this summer and is poised to replace Nemanja Matic at Stamford Bridge.

Matic is on the verge of completing a 40m move to be reunited with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

And Conte wants Bakayoko to sit in midfield next to NGolo Kante and hold the fort for Chelseas dangerous forwards.

Sen. Tim Scott’s Wikipedia page defaced with racist edit: ‘Hitting me where it hurts’ – Washington Times

Sen. Tim Scotts Wikipedia page was defaced Tuesday in another racial attack that has become all too common for the black Republican.

Hitting me where it hurtsmy wikipedia page, Mr. Scott tweeted, including a link to the changed entry that described the South Carolina senator as an uncle tom [[house negro]] coon.

According to The Post and Courier, the person who made the racist edit has since been blocked indefinitely by Wikipedia.

The user, ScottBanks, had a history making edits to the Wikipedia pages of two other black Republicans, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson and Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke, The Post and Courier reported.

Mr. Scott, South Carolinas first black senator, has reportedly been the target of racial hatred since his election. In February, he read racist tweets directed at him on the floor of the U.S. Senate over his support for Jeff Sessions.

Some of the tweets read,You are a disgrace to your race andHow does a black man turn on his own?

I left out all the ones that used the N-word, Mr. Scott told his colleagues at the time. Just felt like that would not be appropriate.

Rory McIlroy blows Steve Elkington’s bad tweets into deep space with Wikipedia screenshot – SB Nation

Rory McIlroy wont be playing this weekend at the U.S. Open. Hes headed home early after a missing the cut. Thats fine. Its tough even for the worlds best players to carve up a track like Erin Hills, especially when coming off an injury as McIlroy was this week in Wisconsin.

Thats no matter for Twitter, however! The takes must go on. Enter former professional golfer Steve Elkington, who once in a former life won the 1995 PGA Championship. Mostly since that time, hes been making bad tweets like this bigoted one about Michael Sam at the NFL Combine that got him disciplined by the PGA Tour.

Anyway, Elk tweeted an extremely Elk thing:

Rory is so bored playiing golf...without Tiger the threshold is prolly 4 majors with 100mill in bank

A quick aside on this: Rory has, again, played six times in 2017. Hes battled two minor but lingering injuries. Hes planned a wedding. Hes been in pretty decent form when playing. Theres nothing to indicate hes bored, etc, etc. Ive just spent 30 seconds responding to the substance of an Elk tweet while at the U.S. Open on a beautiful Saturday, and Im mad now.

Rory, responded, as he should:

In the annals of Twitter banter, tweeting a screenshot of your Wikipedia bio with your approximate earnings in the caption is fantastic 10 of 10, all around. Someone will pay lip service to this with words about how this isnt humble or some other sanctimonious garbage. Ignore them! This is fantastic! Imagine LeBron James responding to every Twitter idiot stumbling with DRAYMOND BETTER into his mentions with a simple Wikipedia screenshot. Its good. Sports needs more of this, golf in particular.

But we werent done. Elk (dumbly) got off the mat to respond!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand one more from Rory to finish him off:

That's why jack designed 100's of golf courses... and it's knew... mustn't have taught grammar in the 50's....

RIP Elk, whos been fired out of an airlock into space.

More than anyone in golf, Rory has to continually put up with this kind of terrible takery garbage from all over. Im here for the coming heel turn after he wins the PGA at Quail Hollow later this year.
