Forces member questioned over edits to Rehtaeh Parsons page on Wikipedia
An investigation into changes made to a Wikipedia page about Rehtaeh Parsons has led to a search warrant being executed on the Canadian Forces Network Operations Centre in Ottawa, court documents filed in Halifax provincial court show.
Master Cpl. Chris Dulong of Halifax military police filed a search warrant application Feb. 17 to obtain data from the centre relating to changes made to the Parsons Wikipedia page between Jan. 26 and 29, and regarding comments posted on her father Glen Cannings blog between Sept. 9, 2014, and Oct. 3, 2014.

A Canadian Forces member was arrested and questioned this week after a Defence Department computer was used to alter the page. The Halifax search warrant identifies the arrested man as the father of one of the boys convicted of child pornography in the Parsons case.
The father cannot be named because that would identify the mans son, whose identity is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
An arrest was made by military police on Tuesday at Canadian Forces Base Shearwater, military police spokesman Maj. Yves Desbiens said from Ottawa on Thursday morning.
He said they were acting on a complaint they received last fall about inappropriate online comments.
The person was released on conditions and is back to work, he said.
He said the investigation, which focuses on unauthorized use of the Internet, is continuing.
Desbiens would not confirm that the arrest was made in connection to the Wikipedia changes, but Parsons father Glen Canning has been quoted in several media reports to that effect.
