Rory McIlroy wont be playing this weekend at the U.S. Open. Hes headed home early after a missing the cut. Thats fine. Its tough even for the worlds best players to carve up a track like Erin Hills, especially when coming off an injury as McIlroy was this week in Wisconsin.
Thats no matter for Twitter, however! The takes must go on. Enter former professional golfer Steve Elkington, who once in a former life won the 1995 PGA Championship. Mostly since that time, hes been making bad tweets like this bigoted one about Michael Sam at the NFL Combine that got him disciplined by the PGA Tour.
Anyway, Elk tweeted an extremely Elk thing:

A quick aside on this: Rory has, again, played six times in 2017. Hes battled two minor but lingering injuries. Hes planned a wedding. Hes been in pretty decent form when playing. Theres nothing to indicate hes bored, etc, etc. Ive just spent 30 seconds responding to the substance of an Elk tweet while at the U.S. Open on a beautiful Saturday, and Im mad now.

In the annals of Twitter banter, tweeting a screenshot of your Wikipedia bio with your approximate earnings in the caption is fantastic 10 of 10, all around. Someone will pay lip service to this with words about how this isnt humble or some other sanctimonious garbage. Ignore them! This is fantastic! Imagine LeBron James responding to every Twitter idiot stumbling with DRAYMOND BETTER into his mentions with a simple Wikipedia screenshot. Its good. Sports needs more of this, golf in particular.
But we werent done. Elk (dumbly) got off the mat to respond!

More than anyone in golf, Rory has to continually put up with this kind of terrible takery garbage from all over. Im here for the coming heel turn after he wins the PGA at Quail Hollow later this year.

Certainly, it's not the most accurate source of information, but never let it be said the free online encyclopedia isn't quick off the mark when it comes to updating its information. In fact, that's exactly what we noted between 2.12 pm a few minutes after Bihar governor Ram Nath Kovind was named NDA candidate for the Presidential Election and 3.07 pm, by which point reactions had begun pouring in.
At 2.12 pm, his Wikipedia page was no more than a perfunctory one. It carried a few lines about his present occupation, a sprinkling of information about his past and a line noting that "On June 19, 2017, BJP president Amit Shah declared him as the consensus candidate for the post of Indian President." (sic)
A little over 20 minutes later (at 2.33 pm, to be precise), the Wikipedia page had expanded massively. Apart from a detailed CV, there were also what appeared to be sections from a press release detailing various achievements of 'Shri Ram Nath Kovind'.
And by 3.07 pm, the slicker and streamlined page even had a photograph on it.
Now, if only Indian politics, particularly elections, moved as quickly as Wikipedia updates do.

India's all rounder Yusuf Pathan has set, what can be called, a probable unbreakable record in cricket. Apparently the batsman has a highest ODI score of 1230!
Now before readers start pulling out their hair strands and break their heads over this bizarre fact, let this be clear that this is only according to Wikipedia.
Under Yusuf Pathan's profile page on the online encyclopedia, his statistics under 'top score' states 1230. Now it is safe to say that this is an error as the all-rounder's highest ODI score is actually 123*.

Yusuf Pathan has played 57 ODIs and scored 810 runs. But according to Wikipedia, the batsman has 1000 runs to his name. Weird!
Yusu Pathan's last ODI appearance was on 18 Match 2012.
Yusuf Parthan has been a big star in the Indian Premier League tournament and has been part of franchises like Rajasthan Royals and currently plays for Kolkata Knight Riders.

We are all aware of the large reach and popularity of Wikipedia. However, what most people dont know is that, according to astudyconducted in 2011, only 9% of the editors at Wikipedia were women. And the percentage for India is even lower, just 3%.
Wikipedia recognises the systemic gender bias that is created because of factors such as these and thus enables its diverse range of users to edit and create Wikipedia pages, with reliable and authentic sources.
For June, Pride Month,Feminism In Indiaalong with Gaylaxy Magazine and India HIV/AIDS Allianceco-organised a Wikipedia Editathonon Queer Pride Marches in Indiaat India HIV/AIDS Alliances office,to increase the representation of queer pride marches in various cities and towns of India as well as to teach a new skill of creating and editing articles on Wikipedia to the youth.
Accordingly, we created a list of Indian queer pride marches and looked at their representation on Wikipedia. A lot of the names on the list did not have any Wikipedia pages, while the ones which did, had very basic and limited information (stub pages).
We were a group of 11 participants in total.The event began with a discussion on the whys and hows of Wikipedia editing for new-comers.
After that, each participant chose one or more pride march/city absent from Wikipedia, and started digging through the internet looking for interviews, news reports and e-books that mentioned their chosen march/city to write comprehensive Wikipedia articles on them.
By the end of the day, the participants had created a total of about 14 Wikipedia pages.
