New contracts for 15 multi-megawatt systems / three wind farms with 36.8 MW
Hamburg, 8 November 2013. Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex SE is continuing to win business with efficient turbines across Germany. In October of this year alone, three customers placed orders for new wind farms comprising a total of 15 N100/2500 and N117/2400 wind turbines. Nordex gained new business in Bavaria, which is characterised by lighter winds, with the N117/2400, a turbine particularly designed for such locations, while its regular customer Enertrag opted for the moderate-wind turbine N100/2500 for a site in the Northern German state of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania.
In summer 2014, Nordex will be installing eight N100/2500 turbines at the 'ttelin' wind farm for project developer and power station operator Enertrag. At the same time, Nordex will work on the 'Mabach-Volkershausen' and 'Insingen' projects in Bavaria, for which it will supply a total of seven N117/2400 turbines, which are amongst the most efficient wind power systems for light wind locations. A further factor is that these projects are being partly funded via citizen participation models.
'Our current strong success in Germany vindicates our product strategy. At the same time, we find that many of our regular customers are again opting for Nordex. This shows that we are offering the right services for our customers,' says Nordex Management Board member Lars Bondo Krogsgaard.
About Nordex As one of the technological leaders in multi-megawatt wind power systems, Nordex is benefiting from the trend in favour of large-scale turbines. The Generation Gamma range comprises the N90/2500, N100/2500 and the N117/2400, which is one of the most efficient onshore turbines. To date, over 2,400 of these turbines have been produced. This experience with multi-megawatt turbines gives Nordex a decisive lead over most of its competitors. With Generation Delta, Nordex is now offering the fourth generation of its proven multi-megawatt platform (N100/3300, N117/3000). Nordex has installed a total of around 5,500 turbines with an aggregate capacity of more than 9,000 MW all around the world. With exports accounting for more than 85 percent of its business, Nordex SE plays a key role in international high-growth regions. The Company has offices and subsidiaries in 22 countries around the world with a total global headcount of over 2,500 employees.
