US President Barack Obama says he is visiting Myanmar (Burma) to #39;extend the hand of friendship #39; to a nation moving from persecution to peace. Obama touched down on Monday morning, becoming the first US president to visit the Asian nation. Tens of thousands of people in the long-repressed country packed the streets to see his motorcade speed through the city. Many of them waved American flags and took photos with their smartphones.
